Depending on your console preference at present, I cannot recommend Mario Kart 8 higher than I already have, especially if you never played it on Wii U.

All the DLC (so 16 extra tracks and at least 6 new characters, excluding Switch exclusive characters, finished with extra karts) and a proper battle mode on top of a superb base game makes it a must buy for me.

My initial thought when I saw it was yes I will be getting it on day one but I've kind of neglected my PC for a bit and I used to play a lot of Overwatch there. Saw W4K and said its been a while since I sat down to play a proper strategy game. I think Mario Kart is going to be a fantastic addition to the Switch because of the social aspect of it and the JoyCon being split between two or four players as well so I might pick it up in May but for now I am thinking PC is where I'll be for a while. I blame Nier because if I hadn't gotten it on Steam I'd probably have gotten MK for the Switch.

Inspired by the post and the fact that Nier finally got done I went and looked at the new Warhammer 40K today. Looks quite impressive.

I was thinking I should spend my money next on Mario Kart but I think I'll go back to PC for a while with the new W4K installment until the new Fire Emblem comes out in May. What a shame it isn't coming to the Switch ... typical Nintendo.

  3. Just finished catching up on Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan Manga. When I first watched season 1 of the anime I thought it was one of those run-of-the-mill kind of shows but then it started getting really deep and now I feel guilty reading ahead because they started season 2 and knowing things ahead of time can spoil a lot of the show for you.

Just to clarify I meant shutting the live stream facility down not Facebook

That's a very difficult decision to make and as has been stated above you can't just shut down an entire portion of the service due to abuse by a few. The problem with anything 'live' is that it has to be shutdown at the point it gets started or immediately after and then set further actions in motion to never let it happen again. This is where Facebook as an entity failed and they have a lot of lessons to learn from their other digital cousin (Twitter) who always seem to be getting into this kind of shit time and time again.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did do something (not shut it down completely) to sort this mess out but I doubt this is the last we're going to see this kind of stupidity repeated again. You take a cheap mobile streaming device, couple it with a free publication service and put absolutely no safe-guards in place (how can you with 1.86Billion users) what did anyone think was going to happen?

What class should I roll in Diablo III? Thinking monk right now. My DH is clost to 70' somthst isnt a choice

I started out with a monk and its a great class as far as I could tell. Gets a little gruelling as you move up but its worth it in the end.

On a side note, if anyone is looking at getting a good game on cheap Bayonetta has just found its way to Steam for a cheap price.

  6. Today, I had the chance to play four-player Super Bomberman and while the game itself is not as good as the classics the four player mode is great for casual gaming. Tried to get my aunt into it and it wasn't all that hard for her to pick up and play as well.

For those with a Switch and never played it on Wii U, I strongly recommend Mario Kart 8 when it's out on 28th April. I'd argue that it's one of the best in the series.

Think the allure for me will be the ability to play with friends in the same room which was always a selling point for Mario Kart when I was younger.

  8. I spent a good part of yesterday playing Square's Nier. At first I started with a KB+M combination because I figure hey they ported this thing the least they could have done was to create some kind of mapping for the control schema. But, I was sorely disappointed and tbh it made the game ten times more difficult than it really should have been. I then changed it to my DS4 and tried it again and the not only was the experience better but I found tackling enemies so much easier. Its a fantastic game and I'd recommend it to people who like Hack-n-Slash games and also anyone that enjoyed playing Bayonetta when it first came out but if you do get this for the PC just remember that a KB+M is not the way to go here and a controller is an absolute must. I'd even go as far to say that the Playstation controller is the only one you want to use here because the button mappings do make a huge difference in how it plays out.

Forgot that I still have Rise of the Tomb Raider in its wrapping as well.

That's a habit I am glad that I have cracked over the last ten years. I used to buy a game and just leave it in the wrap for months then of course another AAA title would come out and I'd never get back to it. Now, I try and keep it to 10 games in the backlog at the most and burn through them over a week when work slows down which thankfully happened mid last month. Sony has made it hard this year with all these good games coming out but I figure once travelling is done over the summer I'll finish my backlog as well.

The next few games I am truly interested in purchasing are MvC:Infinite, Detroit, Death Stranding, LoU: Part2, Divinity 2, Rime, Middle Earth, Super Mario Odyssey, Sonic Mania and maybe that Destiny 2 game.

Worms WMD, Yakuza 0, Until Dawn, Doom, Shadow of Mordor, Alien Isolation and Super Pad Rage/Meat Boy among others are on my backlog.

My backlog was bad but I got through most of it

Witcher 3 (I never really took the time to sit down and get through it. Honestly, it kinda got boring at one point too for me)
    Horizon Zero Dawn
    Nioh
    The Witness
    Superhot

    Still in the bucket
    Dark Souls III
    Final Fantasy XV
    Dishonored 2

Haven't decided on whether I get that or something else but the gift card is worth  £25.

I'd look around before buying Horizon. I can see it dropping in another month or so in price so maybe spend the 25 on something else?

Been reading a lot of good things about it and I have an Amazon gift card to be used.

One of the best games I played this year, although I rate Nioh higher just because of the amped difficulty. Horizon can be a truly gratifying experience if you roam the land more than do the missions and then go back every now and then. They did such a fantastic job on the controls and the enemies it never really got dull for me. How much are you getting it for?

It's looking like Mane won't play again this season.

Fucking brilliant! And people say luck doesn't play a part in injuries!

All season we have gone from one bad injury to another to key players in crucial areas and nearly all of them have occurred from either impact or falling awkwardly, which is purely down to bad luck.

When i saw him get up I thought "thank the lord" then he started to make that face full of pain and I started thinking "we're proper fucked now". Oh well we can only hope that we can do well now and its not like he's the only person we rely on that's out. If only the league was till December ... if only.

  14. Just watched EP1 of Attack on Titan Season 2. Its funny how animation houses take almost 3 years to put out something which they could probably adapt to a tv show if they wanted to without making their fans wait. Still, it was too short but it had an excellent ending if anyone has watched Season 1 which was fantastic as well.

  15. After getting through a silly backlog over the past two weekends I just purchased Nier : Automata and am going to give it a run this week at some point. Anyone else tried it? Got it for the PC as I wanted to see what the fuss was all about and how the fight mechanics were.

Wouldn't be surprised if Mane doesn't play again this season, the way he landed was horrible and he was in some discomfort.

Big loss for Liverpool as it showed when he went off to the AFCON.

What's worse is that we've also lost Lallana who was getting back into form and Henderson has been out for ages as well. It was nice to see Coutinho and Firmino looking sharper over the weekend but then you have to wonder who is going to step up. Emre Can has apparently been carrying an injury while playing for most of the times he has come on as well.

  17. Is Mane really out for the rest of the season? I'd like to think at some point we'll be able to play our preferred starting XI to the end of a the season. In hindsight, all those players that crowded the midfield positions can now step up and show the boss that they can do the job. Hilarious really considering during the summer everyone was joking about the fact that we kept acquiring attacking players and lo-and-behold we now have an attack issue that could be rectified by those players.

I did see another stat during the Arsenal game yesterday which showed that out of the top 6 we've changed the least in terms of formations used and the only other team with a low change in formation is Chelsea. The top two were Arsenal/City and that makes me wonder whether Klopp has finally found the formation he wants and now all he need are players that can rotate in and out of those positions.
