  1. I don't think he's being a pleb honestly. If you and your family got threats online there would be some kind of mental frustration associated with the fact that you're trying and it's not working for you and then the fanbase does what it does online. Don't think it helps the matter really. He's always been a hothead from day one and if he ever gets that under control and learns a bit of composure, I think he'd turn into a fantastic striker not just for us but for his country as well. The problem with becoming levelheaded imo is that if he goes down that route you might lose all that burst energy and relentless chasing that he has so having a manager that can teach him those things is very important. Klopp is gone now, and I don't know if Slot will want to rely on him as the guy to get him goals because his on-the-field antics don't scream reliable. I personally like the guy, he chases, he doesn't give up and even if you gave him 100 chances and he fluffed 99 of them you can always know that he's not going to stop till the whistle blows. It's not ideal for a team vying for trophies every season but in a season where we've seen our best go from elite to school-yard level footballers he's shown more desire than a lot of them. If he turned into a provider vs goal-scorer I think we'd get the best out of him, but no one is going to want that from a player that can score goals and says they want to be a striker.
  2. Can't be too upset with that but the little collapse mid-game still shows that not all is okay with the way this team responds to a goal even when they are up; putting aside what happens when the opponent is ahead. Feel like the next two games are a mixed bag and I think we'll beat Villa but lose to Wolves at home.
  3. Spurs aren't done yet. And there's time to get another two goals too.
  4. Harvey with a wonder strike. Fair play as hes worked very hard today.
  5. That first pass by Mac out to the wing was so fast it disoriented the defense for that second goal.
  6. Im expecting the opposite really. With all the pressure gone of trying to win a title I think these players will show up and leave us all wondering what happened the last few weeks.
  7. Congrats to both of you. Home ownership is quite the nice little journey and teaches you so much.
  8. Put Shogun to bed yesterday and I quite liked it. Is it better than GoT? I'm not sure that's a good comparison but the acting is top notch and the way things unfold is superb. It's easily on my list of best TV for the year so far and its not even that hard of a watch because they keep you engaged throughout.
  9. I'm honestly a bit surprised. You'd think after all the hard work put in that they'd push a bit more than they have but I gave up way before we got our Europa lickings. I said in another thread that you'll deserve the congratulations because you'll show up when it matters most.
  10. This team has lost the plot, they've turned from some semblance of confidence to a team that gets rattled by bad calls from refs or anyone for that matter. In December there is no way that West Ham get the breathing room that they do and for that matter any club in the league but they've just given up and its not odd that the manager and Salah are having a bit of a row on the sidelines because its come to a state where everyone is pointing fingers at each other for bad decisions or just poor performance overall. At this rate we won't finish third and I don't think this is the last loss of the season either.
  11. He's coming and its all done too. What a total left-field choice.
  12. I genuinely believe it's yours again this season. The fact that your team shows up when it matters the most and has the experience to get you'll through this tough part of the year is whats going to see you'll crowned champions again while the other two contenders will falter eventually. I don't think the historical statistics of your problems with Spurs is going to play into this at all. I know you'll say it's not over till it's over but displays like last night are why you're going to be champions again.
  13. Have to say that Rando summed it up right for me too. I didn't think this team was going to win much but they showed enough guile to get through a very tough period with players out and then the players who generally had so much to offer in the dying minutes of a game shut down mentally and it just strikes me as weird. Is it fatigue? I'd say running full tilt for the number of seasons some of them have coupled with the intensity Klopp requires his teams to operate at is definitely a factor. But, and this is where I turn to the manager, it's not like he didn't have options on the bench who may have been frothing to make a mark in this game and I honestly believe that the bench could have provided solutions to some of the weird passing going on last night and drop in form. You'd watch players make such sloppy passes that you start to wonder what's going on in their heads. When you start to lose at home you know something isn't right and then to put on a display like they did against local rivals who really should have had the team fired up to play their best at the tail end of a season where the trophy was mathematically in sight tells me we're going to falter a lot more before the season ends. With no disrespect to Everton, a better finishing team slaps this Liverpool team around a few times and then some with the way the defense went to sleep at times and all the lazy positional and passing play.
  14. Arjen Robben went on to achieve things that I don't think we'll see Diaz do because like you said his end-product is non existent.
  15. We were clueless tonight. From the start you could see they had no plan to break the low block and whatever little chances they had they just scuffed or misfired as has been the way things have gone lately. I'm not sick of this team but I honestly can't understand what has gotten into them to lose the confidence to win when they are a goal down. Virg can go in the summer for all I care because I think he's not what he used to be and while I think he can be good hes got no drive. This isn't the first time he's done this and it certainly won't be the last. I also agree with the statement about kids getting a chance. Our starting XI has been lackluster and the kids would have put on more of a fight than the team that went out tonight.
  16. Very untimely but you have to then ask the question, if the announcement was going to cause so much chaos how in the world did this team perform to get in this position?
  17. Very poor at finishing and we've had a few chances but its not good enough.
  18. I think we're going to go out all guns blazing today. What I want to see is how that front three operates because its crunch time and if they can get some momentum then we will be in good shape going towards the end.
