Children don’t vote and don’t pay tax, therefore they aren’t cared about. New BBC story, the main and pervading symptom of omicron…is a…runny nose.
-
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-59673271 An absolute disgrace. Never have children been so betrayed by the older generation.

Not a coincidence it’s the black Tory who is the fall guy. Inherently racist party and voters. -
It’s inoperable. At football matches nobody checks at all.

I'm not really fat or anything, just heading in the wrong direction. My diet is not awful, it's mainly the beer which gives me more more calories than I should have. It's as much to do with mental well being as physical. I've got a friend who will be coming with me, but I think he knows what he wants more than me. Thanks for the advice, I'm going to try and do my own thing at first and then maybe ask one of the trainers if they can advise me some sort of plan.

Not sure if anyone on here can help, but can only ask. I'm finally taking the plunge and joining a gym, something I swore I'd never do but I really need to start exercising regularly, during COVID I've stopped playing footy and the amount of beer is now producing a beer gut and I'm going even more insane than I appear. I'm just apprehensive about starting it, because I don't know what I'm doing, I don't want to be some hench meathead but would like to get in better shape. I'm thinking of just going on the exercise bike for 10 miles (gradually trying to increase my speed) then doing some of the machines? Is that alright? or will I be bullied out of the gym for being such a weakling?

Haha. Always the risk the game still goes ahead too. -

Anyone sensing a 'covid outbreak' at Liverpool whilst AFCON is on, or am I too cynical? -
Predictable outage as people try to get their booster booked. I think I’ll leave mine until early New Year, unless it calms down by next week.

Heard a rumour Benitez might be off shortly. Can’t see anything on Twitter though. Would seem very early.

Surely he’d be seriously ill from that? Also, would the doctors not see all the needle holes?

Probably because, despite his pretentious verbiage, Johnson is not particularly bright. -

The Shamima Begum case was the crucial juncture, I still can't believe that got through. -

Cummings has now released a picture of Johnson at a virtual quiz. Whilst pretty tame in comparison to a full blown party it would appear he’s broken the law, and surely, surely will have to go? Just worried that whoever comes in next will bounce the Tories back up. -
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/dec/12/omicron-is-sneaky-it-could-be-fatal-for-us-or-for-our-faith-in-government Good example of what I’m talking about. This person seems to think that OMICRON being mild and thus meaning an end to restrictions would actually be BAD news. There is now an almost munchausen mentality amongst many. They love the rolling drama of ‘variants’, ‘panic’. ‘deaths’,.

Not true. Won’t get many people more pro vaccine than me. The West’s inability to conceive that we have to live with a disease is extremely damaging though and should be challenged. People genuinely enjoy the sense of power and control this pandemic has given them and they don’t want to lose it. The problems being stored up by all this aren’t all immediately apparent but will fester and explode at some point. In particular our total disregard for children’s education.
-
If you think of COVID as being like Manchester United, then OMICRON could well be our Solskjaer.
-
So we are now being brow beaten into another damaging, possibly fatally, lockdown by data which is based on information about the original virus. This is not 'following the science'. Worst case modelling scenarios for Omicron ‘unlikely’ – Professor | The Independent

Superb from UEFA. If only the Premier League would act like that. -
https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/covid-cold-symptoms-difference-flu-b1970917.html We’ve now got dedicated articles telling us how to differentiate between a cold and covid because the difference is so minimal for the vast majority. When will this lunacy end.

Who will obey these arbitrary rules? Everyone will meet up over Christmas, like most did last year.

We should still see the information. If fans have to prove they’ve been vaccinated to get in the ground so should the players. -

We should really be able to see information about how many of these people are double vaccinated? If they’re not then why should Spurs get the huge benefit of rest before a very congested period of football. Fans aren’t allowed into the ground now without being fully vaccinated, why should players? -
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/dec/10/south-korea-cuts-human-interaction-in-push-to-build-untact-society This sort of stuff is very worrying.
