  1. His goal against Zaragoza is my favourite, thought I've done myself with my own faulty argument as they were undoubtedly poor opposition.
  2. My mistake, don't know where I got that from then.
  3. Villareal? It was against Getafe who finished 13th in the Spanish second division. Didht they?
  4. Why? It's a lovely goal, but against substandard opposition. The equivalent now would be exactly what I said, there's no comparison to Maradona's goal in a World Cup Quarter final. Messi has scored many finer goals against decent opposition, this is only notable because of its likeness to another famous goal.
  5. People tend to forget Messi's was against a second divsion side which finished 13th, basically like Hazard scoring a mazy dribble against Barnsley.
  6. For good this time, not fannying around to get another deal?
  7. Adams was already there, it's a convenient and possibly cheaper option than going externally. Adams across as having serious mental health issues to me, I can't see it lasting long.
  8. Will he be all that much use though? He seems to have completely disintegrated, it's a shame.
  9. It's a great record, I don't think the comparisons are particularly fair but it's certainly arguable he's better than any of those players at this age. Lot of credit to Pottechino too.
  10. Has Sturridg been injured, again? I thought Klopp just despised him.
  11. I think Liverpool's struggles against 'lesser' teams were largely in the absence of Mane, weren't they? I know they lost to Burnley early on and the odd other game but they largely played well in those games, just failing to take chances. Without Mane they are pretty impotent generally, I think they'll seriously struggle to hold on to a top 4 place without him.
  12. They weren't the underdogs in all that many of the games though, they were favourites against Arsenal most definitely.
  13. Quite rightly, too. The country is in an existential crisis at the moment, Scotland won't want dragging along with this and good luck to them, I hope they thrive outside of the United Kingdom. Unfortunately those of stranded in urban areas that have similar political inclinations have no such fortune and will be dragged into this Tory abyss.
  14. Lukaku not signing a new contract apparently. He's not a player who actually improves the side as a whole (by that I mean the side is very much engineered to suit him, he scores but he's not good enough to deserve a side being set up like that for me), get 50mill plus in the summer and you're laughing.
  15. Bellew's plan was clearly to take the punishment in the first few rounds, keep as far away as possible but obviously he was likely to lose them in terms of aggression. Again, Haye was at no point really battering Bellew. Obviously the injury means we don't know what would have happened, I'm not saying it didn't help Bellew massively, maybe he wouldn't have gone on to win but he'd already seen off Haye's best for me. It's just the fact people are desperately defending Haye as if the injury is an excuse, it's the fact he couldn't wobble a man a stone lighter than him that is more concerning than the actual loss. Bellew was the man at a serious disadvantage, a bigger gap in weight than between Golovkin and Brook and at no stage did Haye have that kind of advantage over hi,.
  16. Don't get in the ring and box after giving it all that if your body isn't upto it. Fact is Haye was banking on finshing it early and he absolutely failed, I'm not claiming Bellew is some sort of Mayweather master here but the bitter bile being spouted by Haye fans is ridiculous. The advantages Haye had were massive, he lost by not winning within 4. Sorry but you're argument makes no sense, you're apparently upset that I'm not giving Haye credit but he didn't do anything which seriously hurt Bellew in those rounds. He was flailing around like a madman at times, it was a poor fight in its entirety.
  17. I never said that. Obviously Haye was going to come out aggressively but by the 5th he was spent and slowing down, he completely and utterly failed as a natural heavyweight to take down a significantly lighter man, Bellew's tactics early in the fight were spot on, he took the sting out of it and let Haye use up all he had. Haye was up, just, but he was hardly pummelling him, Bellew predicted what it would happen and he was right. You can blame his achilles, his toe, an itchy arsehole but he can't cope with anyone who can stand up to him. Finished flat track bully.
  18. The man over a stone lighter than his opponent? The man stepping up a weight category, the man as high as 20/1 to win with bookies? I'm not sure how Bellew comes out of this badly. Haye may have been injured (I had suspicion an injury would crop up when he knew it was lost) but he didn't do what he said he could, he failed to come close to putting away a man smaller, lighter, fatter and everything else. So what if Bellew didn't KO him straight away, he played the fight well, took the sting out of Haye's aggression and stood up to this supposed vaunted Hayemaker. Haye is utterly finished after that. Bellew doesn't need any excuses, he won fair and square and had him beat after the first 4 rounds when Haye threw all he had and came up short. I'm not even a Bellew fan, he's not a great fighter by any means but Haye is the only one who should be embarrassed.
  19. 80k? I'll miss White Hart Lane, definitely my favourite ground I've been to.
  20. I think Kings Dock is off the table now, with the Echo arena have being built there. The area they're looking at is the Bramley-Moore dock just north of what we'd consider the city centre to be and nearby the Stanley Dock tobacco warehouse. If this goes ahead, which it sounds like it will, it'll be a major boost for regeneration in the area and potentially expand the city centre northwards by just under a mile.
  21. Stadium move is imperative for Everton, a 55k stadium on the docks is the dream. Let's just hope the council get this deal done, it would be massive for Liverpool as a whole and kick off a part of the city which has so much potential.
  22. Liverpool dwarf Manchester City in terms of fanbse, in fact only Manchester United have a larger fanbase than Liverpool. FSG are businessmen looking for the financial payoff, they won't increase the attendance anymore I don't think. They wanted to do the Anfield Road End but only with premium tickets, the rightful protest from Liverpool fans put paid from that. It might take new ownership to see Liverpool get a capacity which actually comes close to matching their support.
  23. I'd say English football is at its lowest for a long time, as again evidenced by an abysmal performance in Europe again. Hopefully England will lose a place in the Champions League as it's a waste of time clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham being in it.
