  1. Congratulations!! What a wonderful guy you are picking up on a typo on a football forum. I feel sure you celebrated with one off the wrist, remembering not to grip too tightly or even LOOSELY for that matter. Be sure to clean up before mom comes home wont you.
  2. Mind your own business, it's nothing to do with you. If you dont like it, don't fucking read it, which of course will mean you will loose 95% of your football education each week.
  3. So much could be said about yesterdays performance, however, the over riding fact of the game is our manager allowed the opposition to get back into the game with an ease that was borderline managerial disorder crazy. First words out of his mouth after the game Frank expressed this need to be brave in the game. He loved being told no other team in Peps time had enjoyed a higher amount of time with the ball and Pep had praised him for playing that style of football. He sat there lapping it up like he just got the cream from the top of a gold top milk bottle. Of course he was praised, it’s exactly how we wanted teams to play against us at home when we were the best, and Pep will continue to tweak Franks nipples if he continues to allow teams to have the amount of chances his teams currently offer. We went 1-0 up, I opened my bookmakers betting account and pilled on City too win. It was that fucking obvious and while the winnings are a nice compensation it truly fucks me off that we made it so easy for the opposition. Great opening goal from a Kovacic assist (a very rare bird) taken slightly lucky by Kante who had a very good game. One thing on Frank I want to praise was his inclusion of Kovacic over Mount. Mount as we all know is his fav player and I was delighted to see Frank has grown enough this season to leave him out over Kovacic who has been delightful for most of the season. The previous manager, with all his years of experience would have failed that. Fucking useless c***. Their first goal was caused by Jorginho losing the ball with no pressure on him. The Italian has improved some, but for me he still leaves a lot to be desired. Emerson showed off his pathetic defending skills for their 2nd getting very little help from ball losing Kovacic who allowed Mahrez to slalom between the pair of them without a challenge. Too all the fucking Chelsea fans who think Emerson is a fine left back, Pep just illuminated your complete pigeon brained football knowledge. Alonso has plenty of faults, but at least he knows when to cross a ball or shoot at goal. Even that seems to be too much for Emerson to work out these days. In a week Luca07071 brought up Arrizabalaga worth, he again gave another questionable performance by almost gifting the opposition a goal and proving to have the most expensive none stick hands in football. The more we see of him the more I agree with Luca, yes we paid far too much. Kante played his heart out as per usual, the two young centre halfs put in good shifts and Dave for the most part kept Sterling quiet. His future must be full time left back before long. I see plenty of stick for Tammy in this thread, but for me he held the ball up as much as he could and I was very disappointed when Frank took him off AGAIN. While I disagreed with that substitution I think Frank got the Jorginho one right. He had not long got booked and as per usual in most games they were starting to run past him like he was carrying a Fridge on his back. It was an attacking substitution which should have been made at least 15 mins earlier. I am happy to read this opinion is agreed with by most of the faces. Willian and Pulisic worked hard throughout the game, looking dangerous when freed to attack with the ball. A little too open, a little too much what they hoped for. Still Frank got what he wanted. Better than 6-0 You have to be blind not too see how much potential this group of players offers us for the future. It’s gonna be one hell of a ride over the next two seasons. For me yesterdays game was a step back through poor management. It’s to be seen how long our beating of lesser opposition is allowed to overshadow what we get from clubs of our standing. Being allowed to fix those weak positions in the next window may make the season end with a smile. Walking into these kind of fixtures without being fixed will allow opposing managers to hit us at our weak points. WalterDavis & Lemoncfc, I agree with you on the Morris question. His naughty boy rep will help him stay alongside Frank, however, if Joey Barton can get a hot seat, we can expect at some time Jody will be offered the chance too. It does look like Moses will be returning to the club in the new year and I have been waiting on you, ChelseaTotty, to ask the question. It’s pretty unlikely, but who knows? Injuries could come into play, but I think he would be ideal for a club hovering above the relegation places. We will see. Bazilfoolty StamfordSid 7OaksCFC TheRealFatFrank & others. The only thing I have heard is he could be allowed back into the country at the turn of the year if the Tory’s win. I have nothing gospel, just what others have said here n elsewhere. NewYorkBlue23 suggestion we should check the political party donations lists made public this past week is brilliant!! Had me roaring!
  4. Important day tomorrow with the decision of CAS on our punishment from FIFA for our alleged rule breaking. We win? While we wont get the last window back, we maybe able to play in the next window and get our £400,000 fine back. If we lose? CAS will not extend the length of the ban, but in the case of Barcelona back in 2014 after the Spaniard side broke similar rules to Chelsea, they threw the case out. I know the club have been confident all along but were flabbergasted when the FIFA appeals upheld the original verdict. It was very interesting when CAS gave conformation of the date of their decision, within 24 hours FIFA made public everything they had on us. Show of Weakness? We will find out tomorrow
  5. I agree with you @carefreeluke like most clubs we have a special bond with our guys who lead the line. The point I was making is one hopes no negativity is placed on our young Tammy as he needs to be full of himself to keep performing at the level that helped find him a spot in the England squad. He has faults, but he is our chosen guy by Frank and we must praise over moaning at him when the ball skips away from him. Gees, just think of Jimmy trapping a ball to remember how bad it really can be On Torres, I believe the reason he got such a easy time with the fans is because of the pain n hurt he inflicted on Liverpool fans through his decision to join us. I never wanted him, thankful for his goal against Barcelona and the way he carried himself during and since leaving the club. I understand he still owns a place less than half a mile from the ground. I am not sure of your age, but when speaking of London Derbies of ten years ago I can assure you those derbies played in the 70's n 80's had a vibe which I very much doubt will ever be equaled again. You have to understand, it wasnt just the football on the pitch that was played out those days. Some of us lived for those games to represent our clubs in a far more challenging manor than the cosy "entertain us" brigade who fill our ground today.
  6. A pretty good performance against a side set up not to concede from the start. William was magnificent, huge body of work he got through, obviously taking Dave's armband to heart. I noticed the Matthew Harding end were starting to get at Tammy in the 2nd half, so I was well pleased when he slotted away the first goal and surprised when Frank took him off. Pulisic looks money well spent. Happy the manager singled him out for praise after the game and I hope his injury is as light as the club are making it out to be. While it is true we looked far more solid through the centre of the team, it helped that Palace did not attempt forward play other than between the two goals. Young Reece had a great game up against Zaha. On that performance its going to be interesting to see if he loses the place when they all come back from international duty. Buzz around the ground flooded info on 10 days time. I have no idea if it's true, but reading online media this morning makes you think they have swallowed it Hook Line n Sinker. I, like many I spoke to yesterday, not sure what I want to happen. The question you pose Luca07071 is one that has needed to be asked for sometime. My own opinion is we paid far too much. He does not look to be as safe as either of the two previous owners of his position. This morning I watched BT coverage of the game and was tickled to watch Joe Cole destroy Sarri's season in charge. Wonderful examples of then n now and some priceless insider bombs of what went on.
  7. Wow so many theory's to what is causing the sloppiness and high (for Chelsea) conseding. The back four all season are playing on their own. They get very little help from the two pretty boys playing infront of them, who's main aim it seems is to pass as many times to each other over two yards to keep their totals up. The sloppiness comes from the defenders and petty boys passing to players further forward on the pitch, often when under pressure, forcing and the ball runs off to the opposition. The manager has admitted this, yet, up too now does not want to\ or is unable to change. Like many of todays coaches Frank is hell bent on playing out from the back. As many other players in world football are finding out, its fucking difficult when they are being pressured quickly. Tomori misplaces the ball at least once a game. Zouma is a wholehearted defender who looks more uncomfortable than he really is on the ball. The two full backs do not get any help from infront of them and both rely on the center halfs behind them. For me this is more of a question of personnel over system, none of them are Ashley Cole. Last season around this time, teams sat one player on our center midfielder, who promptly disappeared from games. We had David Luiz to take over ball carrying duties once that happened. It's coming again. This all boils down to Frank. It really pisses me off when after the game he tells us what we can all see, yet does nothing about it. Its not difficult to fix and we already have players who would make us more solid. Ajax first half was a lesson few have given us in a long time. It was laughable how their midfield walked passed ours forcing our defenders to give away free kicks that lead to goals. The climax of that game has over shadowed the truth. One must not complain too much. I much prefer this season over the past couple. The penny will drop with Frank. He is a very intelligent boy in the God sent position of having the club and its fans fully behind him. Even the mongrels in the media are giving him a reach around in a honeymoon period which could last far longer than most Chelsea managers get. I'll be there Saturday, most interested what he does with the suspension we have suffered for this game?
  8. Strange ol game. In a first half where their midfield dominated our "ball retaining" midfield duo gaining free kicks for fun n genially toying with us, Hakim Ziyech will not be at Ajax next season... OUTSTANDING, we turn it around in the 2nd thanks to an inspired managerial decision at Half time and a couple of, well one dodgy and one for sure sending off's. I discovered on the radio driving home they had one shot on goal in the first half and were 3-1 up! Many thanks to those who have said this morning Frank must have at last heard me with his swapping Dave flanks. Obviously I hope this continues and it helps Dave return to who he once was. BlueandWine your point on James is valid and I would like to see that too. Couple of points. Tammy is proving to be below average with his heading towards goal. If Kovacic could pass like Fabregas in the final third, we would double our clean cut chances a game. Pulisic goes forward both ways and should become a free kick\Penalty magnet. The VAR ruling out the 5th goal killed the momentum we had at that time. We had Ajax by the bollocks & VAR helped them survive. I agree with you CFCMax, the decision being made by the actual game official is better than some guy in a room hundreds of miles away. The screen by the sideline is the way forward. Crazy game, wonderful night (Made up for the league cup), BUT it all overshadows a first half where we were sussed and out played. Again Frank with a smile on his face mentions our sloppiness after the game and our need to tighten up. Our next two opponents are both primed to take advantage of that.
  9. Plenty of nice plaudits being thrown on our team and manager again after another away win. For me, those plaudits must be being made with those who are blind to what is really happening in games. Great first goal which some at the club are claiming the assist was something the players have been working on. Wow, 18 months at the club a Jorginho pass at last comes to fruition. Either way, it was a great goal. The 2nd had a lovely delivery by Tammy threaded between keeper and defenders allowing the most intelligent of runs by Pulisic to grab our second of the game. Yes as per normal, we created enough chances to put the game to bed in the first half, which the manager, again, was quick to point out. Too his credit, he again highlighted the sloppiness of the players fucking about with the ball from defence to midfield, so much so they allowed Mike Dean the chance to put Watford back in the game. All well and good the manager stating how much he enjoys seeing his two central midfielders keeping hold of the ball against teams who are both set up wrong as in Burnley last week and a team in Watford who had no life in them from the opening whistle. First half Watford had 11 behind the ball and the front two refusing to pressure any of our midfield only making contact once it got too Mount’s zone of the pitch. Easy to play in midfield when a team does that? You better believe it! Greatful for the 3 points and happy we caught Watford at probably the most down since they returned to the EPL, but acknowledge the warning signs that proper teams\managers will set their sides up which will allow them to enjoy much more of the ball & take points off us. Love Frank to bits, but I have been slightly taken aback to hear the manager reputation he currently has in the game. Plenty are saying he is “winging” it. Got lucky so many youngsters have floated from the word go. I have to say I think he has been suspect at times, no more than after we conceded yesterday and he promptly swapped Pulisic and CHO. What the fuck was that all about? His team had allowed Watford back into the game and he swaps flair for flair? I don’t think my voice could be heard by him at the time, but I fucking wish it could. Dumbass. Mins later he makes a more intelligent swap, but for F*** Sake Frank, management is not like painting by numbers. If you have managed to get this far into my rant you can tell I was not a happy guy leaving the ground yesterday. Once I saw his interviews after the game he infuriated me again. Stop fucking telling me how pretty we look with the ball and you can’t moan at the players for the sloppiness caused they played so well. That’s shit management. Opposition are the bottom club and they almost stole a point cause of your team fucking about with the ball n not killing off currently the weakest team in the league. The poor habits his team are showing each weekend will cost us at some stage unless he rids us of them now. I want to see more improvement from Frank and not have his family line up after the game to ask soft questions highlighting only the good of the performance. Footnote. Nizaar Kinsella confirming the word being said that Kante is unhappy. Leaving present from the former manager. For me, if we are going to continue to play him out of position, we may as well take the money and improve that position.
  10. Poor game. Far too many players under performed in a fixture one can only describe after seeing the effort displayed as a non entity for the club. I go to alot of the games and one of the pleasing points from this season has been the high tempo of the young players spreading throughout the team. Last night the whole team were lack luster in their approach to the fixture. The two starting wide players were a waste of their shirts, very disappointed in Pulisic who did nothing at all. Bloke infront of me said Callum looked as thou he believed the fixture was below him. He was pathetic and performances like this will just add weight to those who want him out of the club. I could go on picking out under par performances from last night, but I think I must highlight Frank after the game in his many pressers. I have watched them this morning on Youtube & there is no doubt in my mind he had wrote the fixture off before the game. He genially looked and sounded like he couldnt give a Monkeys. I wish I had known that before the game as I could have watched this shit at home. @Redcanuck On last nights evidence you do not have one player worthy of starting in any of your last few Premier League winning teams (I am sure I am not telling you anything you dont already know mate), that includes your captain from last night who for me is a waste of money and should be targeted by all opposition teams. Slow? I think I could probably turn as quickly as him. As I said after the opening day fixture, you should really enjoy last nights result (not the performance) as I expect, like opening day, it's going to be the highlight of your season.
  11. Hell you should know I am old n grey. Getting the date wrong of a Chelsea fixture is the least of my problems. Spent 2 hours looking for my car keys at the weekend, only to find them on top of the Clover butter in the Fridge! Haha.Wife said I left them their on purpose so I dont have to unload the food shopping out of the car. I hope TONIGHTS fixture is as entertaining as the last league cup game between the two clubs I attended. 4-3. Time to leave. Pie n mash in the East end then onto the footie!
  12. Another excellent performance away from home, only spoiled by conceding two late goals and a dive by one of our youngsters. First up, Burnley players are very average and probably much closer to Championship level than their record shows. It’s not a big pitch, but the way our guys moved the ball about without much problem illuminated how basic a set up Dyche put out. I felt last season he also missed a trick with the way he set up his side against us at Tuff Moor. Much thanks to him. Star man Pulisic continued his run of good form with a perfect Hat-Trick, (remember Jimmys against Spurs?) which I guess pissed off Tammy royally. I am sure you know why. All three goals had a touch of luck attached to them, but I like the way he ran at the defence and took it upon himself to strike towards goal. Sometimes players of his build\skill offload the ball for others to take aim. He has given Frank a wonderful problem. CHO dive gave Frank a different problem after the game and I think Dyche touched a nerve with Frank when he stuck both boots into our young winger. In my opinion Frank bit in his interview when he mentioned the way Barnes jumps and always falls to the floor hoping for a free kick they can launch into the box. While he was correct, he should have just said he didn’t feel it was a bookable offense. I believe the hand on his back is the only thing that saves Callum from being 100% guilty. Looking forward to going to the league cup game Tuesday. I think selection for the fixture is going to be very interesting, as I can’t believe United will filed a weekend side. Go for it Frank!
  13. What great day yesterday turned out to be. First time for me at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, suitably impressed with the stadium and atmosphere. This was an outstanding performance against what I would call a grade B European team, which is probably a grade we currently hold ourselves. Difficult to find a starting player who did not contribute less than 7 out of ten over the time they were on the pitch, although CHO was sussed from the 1st minute with Ajax sitting on his right foot. What a blessing Pulisic being introduced to the left flank turned out to be. I feel sure he will turn into money well spent. Mitchy the goalscoring hero, making up for the shot to the moon a few mins before. Dave was, Well Dave from years gone by. A truly wonderful performance against a tricky wide player who I understand is well thought of. The two boys in the centre of defence were a couple of Rocks. Seems strange pre season they were probably 4th n 5th on the depth chart in the position, yet here they are putting in fantastic performances in Europe. Alonso was solid, very unlike him. If we could get 80% of that Alonso performance in a back 4 all the time he would be far more accepting in the position. Have to give credit to Jorginho. For me he is normally a complete waste of space playing in the easiest position on the pitch, but last night he showed good experience being in the right place on a number of times. He still got run past like he was carrying a fridge on occasion, however it was nice to see him earn his money, afterall, thats the only reason he has stuck around. Lastly, being a long time fan with clear memories of when we were shit, something happened last night that illuminated whats been missing from our players team club throughout the years of success. If you get the chance, watch our young players celebrate the final whistle. They have the club running through their veins and a unquenchable thirst for success together. It might read as a little thing to some, but to us old timers it's a throwback to who we always were, when our young boys would represent us far too early in their careers with their Chelsea hearts on their sleeves fighting for our shirt. Gees, we are dangerously on the brink of producing something very special for us all to enjoy for years to come. Don't fuck it up Frank!
  14. Excellent result yesterday with a performance which was proving to be very frustrating as our kids could not finish off a battling Newcastle side (No doubt they are playing for their manager). As I sat in the ground watching wave after wave of pressure football moving us forward, conversation turned to Franks lack of effecting games from the bench this season. This proved to be his game as bringing on Pulisic proved to be the spark to keep our foot on Newcastles throat. While he didnt take either of his two great chances, he did enough to concentrate minds. Alonso made up for a pretty poor performance with his goal. It also must be said the introduction of Kovacic for the all first half injured Barkley, gave us some legs carrying the ball in central midfield. He was far more effective than the crap again Jorginho. I wondered what the manager would do once CHO regained fitness as far as Mount goes. Looks like he found a position left side of midfield for his fav player. Few by me are thrilled with that and when the other double barreled name returns will we see another move for Mount? Footnote: Thank God Chelsea finished top of the bookings points during the time of the premier league. This fucking confirms what we always knew, the officials are biased against us n tried to hold us back with unjust calls against our innocent and always better football players. Loads of TROPHY'S
  15. Pulisic will be fine. His biggest problem is the USA media who nothing about real football & highlighting his lack of time on the first team pitch at Chelsea. Get his head down n work as hard as he can n make plenty of visits to the weight room putting some muscle on that light body of his and he will get his chance, afterall, this is proving to be the season of injuries so far.
  16. Another wonderful result. An ok performance, one that people seem to be brushing over how open n sloppy our defending was and has been since pre season.Their goal the ball ran past six different Chelsea players unchallenged before being passed into the goal. Interesting for corners this game it was half zonal n some of their runners into the path of the corner were picked up one on one. It was still garbage defending. Main thing we go into the Iternational break with a win which for me is essential for us fans. Ok, I am sure you all know the story which was banded about the ground about Kante at the Brighton game. I feel this is why Tabloids n other crap football outlets are flooding their gossips with him leaving. It seems nobody at the club want to say different to what is said to have happened to him at the end of last season. Frank was asked a question this week on Kante worded in a way that gave him the chance to dispel what went around the ground. It's not like him to miss a chance to put the media right, yet he chose too answer the question as thou it was 100% factually correct.I wouldn't discard Kante preparing to leave until we hear it from his own mouth.
  17. What a season we are having! The clubs decision to employ Frank again and his far from polished leadership coupled with the flood of Chelsea made talent airing in every game we play is fuelling the heart of this old time Chelsea fan each time I find my seat in the ground. I sit there flick through the programme read through about another youngster who won the FA Youth cup n has a chance of being on the bench to make his debut, then watch him run out with the others. Will we win? How the F*** do I know?? Haha, We attack as thou its all hands to the pump at a Fire saving lives. We defend as thou the players saw the fixed odds on the other side to score 2 or more and they decided their wages could do with a slice of the action! I am sure I have commented before that for the last 15 or so years, I sat n knew we were going to win in the vast majority of games. Today, Franks fledglings may well be in the wrong side of a 9 goal thriller, be the better side in a loss to a so called better side, or not be able to get over the line is a game were we should have put it too bed before half time. Those games all hurt some, but these boys, while bred to win as they have done all through their youth careers at the club, are learning a new level of consistency and we will be there cheering them on as they do. Well worth a season ticket n a day out to Belgium. As much as I am thrilled with Franks appointment it has to be said he hasn’t got a Scoobies from the bench. I presume he will get better, but I am not alone around my seat who laugh when he makes his substitutions. Mason Mount is his fav and while he started like a house on Fire, he sure should have been whipped off the pitch early in a few of the later games (maybe not started). Teams have him sussed for the most part, sitting on his right peg as he attacks down the left side. It will be very interesting what happens to Mount now Callum is back fit. In the few minutes he was on the pitch last night he did far more than Mason. With Willian outstanding on the other flank our Frank faces a test on his opinion on the starting wide players. He seems to have ousted Pulisic who didn’t even make the bench last night, a decision I feel is one of those “last bloke in from previous regime” suffers. On Willian, as one the guys who has stuck up for him throughout his Chelsea career, one feels I should highlight how well he is playing. Gutted he left the pitch last night with an injury. The flipside of Willian, but for some reason gaining huge praise from the manager is Jorginho. For me is continues to be a waste of space. I believe this is a worry as he is the weak point (other than both left backs) of the team. Did anyone else see the article where someone posted a video of a referee out running Jorginho during a game? Much more could be said, dont have time. Lastly, Tomori. Any good? Footnote: A few are stating the Chelsea manager will have well over 300 million too spend once our ban is lifted. Baring in mind the youngsters coming to fruition from the academy, makes you wonder who might be our Eric Cantona?
  18. Eto, along with Agüero are the two players I most regret we missed out on when they were about to reach their peak. At a time when we were bossing the transfer market both players were heavily linked with us and for whatever reason we chose not to sign them. The latter player for me is a bigger miss, but Eto also proved to be top class from that point on. I know we should console ourselves that we already had Drogba, but I am sure I am not the only Chelsea fan who would have liked to have seen either two players alongside Drogba.
  19. Mason has been the top Chelsea youth prospect from around the age of 13. Far in advance of almost all others who came before him or at the club at same time. The main difference with Mount over others we have had is he has excelled even with older boys. We have had plenty of have bullied their own age group, Ruben Callum ect, but Mason was the best player at 15 playing against under 18's.
  20. Sheffield United at Home. I feel I must start my offering of this review of the game with thanks to Sheffield United players for not believing in themselves during the first half. If they had they would have won the game. The Chelsea starting eleven which Frank sent out played very narrow. Both Mount and Pulisic move inside when they get the ball. There were times during the first half all 6 of our midfield n forwards were inside the lines of the 6 yard box n centre circle. Without the couple of mistakes Sheffield gave us, we created very little. (Watching the North London derby while tapping this out & both teams have created more in 45 mins than we did all game yesterday) It’s got to be said I am thrilled with the appointment of Frank and honestly believe it’s the correct decision for the club and given time he will prove to be a excellent manager for us. Obviously when you make a decision like this you have to give the guy some slack n be prepared for poor results while he cuts his teeth on the bigger picture. Alas this past game Frank again failed to influence the game after kick off. Others before me In this review thread, have highlighted the change in the flow of the game in the second half. Much like the Leicester home game. Both games needed firm action from the bench, which did not happen and while I will stop short of calling it 4 points lost by our manager, I will say he needs to learn far quicker than his relaxed state on the sidelines suggests. While William was lively (two cracking passes to Tammy who failed miserably with both) when he came on for Barkley, the loss of Barkley contributed to helping their midfield to boss the area. Frank positioned William further forward than Barkley and this helped Sheffield enormously. We were still leading when Frank made his last 2 substitutions and again neither helped our situation. I freely admit I cheered with many others welcoming Gilmore to the first team, but I knew it was a very poor decision by his manager. I am not saying this was the cause of the dropped points, I am saying the manager did not help the team at anytime during the game. That’s both home games Frank n his staff have not been able to figure the correct changes needed to see through a win. Frank needs to stop bathing in this “No fear of introducing youth” tag he adores and cant wait to drop in any presser or microphone put in front of him. Currently he is proving to be the biggest novice during games. Of course the penny will drop as the games go by but his performance so far has made me recall a radio show I heard not long after Frank was announced as manager. I am sure it was Tony Pulis who spoke of the brave decision to appoint Frank Jody n the rest of his very young staff. He felt Chelsea may have missed a trick by not adding someone with years of Premier League managerial experience to help over the early months. Sure makes sense after 4 league games! Really enjoyed the day apart from the sickening gut wrenching ending (even knowing there was a huge chance it was about to happen). I am sure Frank will get it right and I look forward to the ride over the coming weeks. Come on Frank!! I too met ChelseaAle’s better half before the game and I can confirm as others have before me he is punching well above his looks grade. Good luck too you both mate & congratulations on your wonderful news!
  21. Yeah, that read like a Jason Burt piece, almost right on nothing. I think you will find we signed Thorgan as well as Eden at the time and Bico hoped to represent both brothers. I dont know what deal he got for Thorgan, but he got nothing for Eden from us. I have seen Eden on ChelseaTV stating he is proud that he never had, does not need a agent and as I understand it his father worked out with Real Madrid, so you can imagine what kind of deal he got with those Sharks! Maguire: So you think he fill's a need? I am surprized to read that as I have him down as no better than you already have and now you are saddled on the left hand side of your defence with two slow defenders. Granted you guys have to pay a premium, but 30m over his real value is pretty pathetic even for your dumbass suits. I am also to be convinced the Crystal Palace player you got is nothing other than a one season wonder. I believe his pace which is exceptional gets him out of trouble, which makes up for his poor reading of the game. He tends to foul too often for a top team defender. Obviously he is a converted wide player, so he will need time and of the two defensive defenders you bought he has the better upside. We shall see Smalling on loan? Paying Sanchez wages? Whats wrong with your goalie lately? Good job you are not living in Manchester mate, you could be the next penalty taker
  22. Thanks for taking the time to leave this posting. While the transfer ban is an illuminating fact to why there is a change of philosophy, I happen to think it's the brave managerial appointment which is the most important change at our club. For the first time since Roman has been at the club, we have a manager who knows the fan base and does not need to build bridges to gain our respect. He understands what we crave and communicates in a manner that leaves us no doubt he is on the same page . It must be said Chelsea football club really needed what is happening and there is a good chance it will bring everybody together.
  23. Thank You. Yes, by the end of last season he was putting the leg work to warrant his position. Alas, so far this season he has reverted to type. Its that lack of leg work which is being spouted as reason Frank is reluctant to play him in the more free role either side of the middle. That is a shame as I would like to see him with less defensive responsibilities, before he is added to the sale list. We shall see
  24. Haha, that would be true of course if he had an agent at the time? Id say that's another clear piece of evidence of United fans turning into Liverpool fans once toppled off top Dog spot, reaching for excuses. Hazard is on record on why he chose Chelsea, including admitting keeping his word to both City and United by turning up for a visit when he had already made up his mind & informed the club Joe and Didier he was signing for us. Decent bloke Eden Hazard. Very few in football value their word. He is one. Anyway, why pay so much for the Leicester CH?
  25. Norwich away, home game for me. If we are going to get that level of entertainment this season, its going to live long into our memories. Very happy for Tammy who’s two goals were wonderful, only to be spoilt by the Chelsea twat sitting next too me who remarked this was his level… Championship in reference to Norwich. It wasn’t till I watched the BT coverage where Crouch and our Joe talked up Norwich that I felt a little better again about Tammy’s performance, although to be honest, I didn’t think Norwich are as safe this season as those two young pundits have you believe, so maybe there is some truth in what the Chelsea twat said. The more I think about and re-watch the game its becomes increasingly difficult to gage the performance. We were pretty and moved the ball far quicker than at anytime last season manufacturing many chances. We were also frightenly open weak through the middle defensively and probably have our weakest back four this century. Kante wasn’t missed at all. The forward five were all very good, word for Kovacic who was outstanding and completely knackered come the end of the game. Really put a shift in both defensively and carrying the ball forward. His performance was one of the few I have felt he earnt his money. I think we have a player in Pulisic. He needs time to develop his body as he is lightweight and ends up on the floor far too often, but I think we will see better of him next season. Jorginho was a complete waste of space defensively. Buendía ran away from him for the first goal, spinning away leaving him on his ass and the same Norwich player became as elusive as Maddison the week before to Jorginho, setting up the second goal. EVERYONE knows how we can improve defensively. It’s going to be interesting to see how long it takes for the penny to drop for Frank. Before during and after the game I saw and spoke to many Chelsea friends from over the distant years (as you do at away games) and the topic of conversation being, this season feels like being Chelsea before Roman. Difficult to explain to the many fans we have gained since he took over the club, but those of us who were around when we were “shit” for want of a better description, never knew how a result would turn out, saw our hopes built around a youth system, often young players injected into the first 11, maybe 1 or 2 years too soon and our fingers crossed we would escape a relegation battle. Our youngest starting 11 for 25 years playing exciting attacking football, leading pegged back not once but twice then our young CF scoring a cracking winner sending us all home (well to a watering hole) ecstatic with how the result turned out. Made this Chelsea silly old sod, “football feel” something I’ve missed for too long.
