  1. Who knows? When it was first leaked we were in for him I was of the opinion Barcelona were using us to concentrate United's mind on the possibility they missing out on there said to be no1 target. Afterall they have been taking the Michael out of us all window, so it made sense. So many weeks on and we are still linked makes one think maybe there is something too it. I wouldn't loose any sleep if we missed out as Told has got a real taste for it and I expect 2 or 3 others might be with us come the end of the window instead. How about you, is he a must, is his position a must need to improve? Isnt Eriksen the same kinda player?
  2. A poor finisher who had no luck what so ever during his time with us. I am sure it must have been more than half a dozen times I sat in the crowd awaiting VAR ruling out another goal by Werner. He tried hard each time he got the nod, often not getting his preferred position. He won many Spot kicks, nearly always legally which we benefited from. The word was he did not get on with TT who would pick on him so often it became a joke among the other players. Wish him well and fully expect him to return to his hotshot ways back in Germany.
  3. I ended up at the game after getting a ticket offer Friday night. Lets just say its already a strong fav as mistake of the football season on my part as the trip there and back were equally as bad as the football on the pitch. There is no doubt that our football under TT is some of the worst we have endured since the turn of the century, an opinion I can see I share with almost all of this match report thread. Defensive unimaginative and most of all the deeper into his reign, lackluster. Feller I sat next to said after half hour anyone who hadn't seen us play before would think 17 & 26 were loan players from a higher level as they stood out like Belisha beacons. True enough I have written here and elsewhere proclaiming our manager needs to manufacture results by finding a way to score more goals in games. Not sure he can claim anything from these 3 points as Everton, who were under strength and poor, gave us the game with that penalty. We have played far better at that ground and left with nothing, so I should take some credence from this Gift Horse result. We go into a Spurs game where there is a genuine feeling they should get the better of the game. It will be their first test of still being Spursy and our first concrete evidence if the money being spent on our managers opinion is going to turn us into an also ran or make us into a stronger freeflowing outfit. Like others who went to the game I heard the rumours before the game and sure enough turned to be true on Callum. News that Mendys contract is deemed to be more inportant than the two homegrowns is also said to be true if you go by a few of the paper boys in the know this morning. 24 touched up n told not to sign a new contract has been common knowledge for over a month. He hasn't unlike 19 stepped on camera to say all is OK in his world. 28 stretches his contract before 24. Remember Ashley Cole Arsenal departure? Should sort the homegrowns first.
  4. At the start of last season Billy was voted on my Chelsea board as the youth player to cash in on before bubble bursts. I was one of those votes. Terrible season at Norwich, my now local club, forcing me to get in the it in the ear all season on the crap Chelsea loanee, from all the Hugh Jackman look-a-likes. He turned down as many as 6 other clubs for Norwich including Rangers North of the border. Lack of squad number would suggest his path is another loan away from the club. Wherever he goes, needs a good season, so must choose wisely the correct level to succeed.
  5. Starting line upon us and my season ticket at last finds me. Looking forward to enjoying what lays ahead with football friends who have suffered the disappointing times as well as the never thought it would happen to us events that few clubs fans get to indulge for as long as we have. See you at the games!
  6. Haha I m half tempted to read the answers you get to this. There are two versions to this. There are the answers which back up the fables from the gossip world who amazingly, some make a living from and then there is the managers truth, a new found strength allowing him to play God with his squad in a very unRoman manner lol If you want an example of this just look at the Villa signing. What we do know is Todd loves a deal where he offloads a number of his baseball players for the so called next coming of Babe Ruth. Who knows, we might get Mike Trout for 4 squad players a 80m goalie and season ticket to watch NFL games at Tottenham. You can be sure of one thing Stan, these money boys did not spend all that money getting the club to see it become an also ran. For whoever this manager wants, they will find the money. So in answer to your question, for now, I would say its a bottomless pit.
  7. Weaker opposition results in better display, but still missing a host of better than good chances. I didn't take much from the match other than being struck by the new CHO physique. He looks more filled out and in the few interviews he gave in the states something seems to have dropped between his ears too. I am quietly confident we may see what many at the club and in Munich believed all along. Fingers crossed!
  8. I know it's stating the obvious that even a child fan of our club would suss. Kounde will go down as a self inflicted Cream Pie for the club, but aimed largely at the previous regime over the Americans. Current board are guilty of trying to better ourselves by aiming at the Juventus CH and allowing that to be common knowledge. One can hardly blame Kounde who has been fucked about by us and others for the past few windows. Good luck to him and his lack of height & body mass which had long been a negative in my eyes. The picture is being painted that we will not have our squad completed until we have a few league games under our belts. For me we will be looking towards the manager to manufacture some results to keep us on an even keel till the window closes. We have had plenty of managers in the past who have been able to do this. Time for the current one to do his job and not working on his after game excuses when Spurs come a visiting on the 14th. I hope NaturalBlue1 is right about the season tickets being sent out today. I think this is the latest I can remember having to wait for it. After such a painless event paying for it through the new system, one would hope for more of the same having it find you.
  9. So much negative hopes n thoughts being written about our club & new owners on the back of one friendly result that even the weak minded among our number are adding to the crap being painted. Poor Todd has gone from being praised for getting two wonderful experienced players to our club, to being told he is the weaklink and should find a Director of Football as soon as he can to compete with the unbelievably successful guys in said position at Arsenal & Tottenham. Nothing said of course about the person we had in place who was set to have this last window, but we were advised by the British Government to remove her, a clean brush from the previous owner. I think he has done quite well up to now including forcing Barcelona to pay top dollar on a couple of questionable players as they continue to sell their ass to try and put a half decent team on the pitch by exploiting young boys dreams of oneday pulling on their shirt for real. Oh and by the way the window is open for all of August! I am not happy with the managers reactions & words after Arsenals, probable highlight of their season. He has lots of form for this kinda thing & will no doubt pour fuel on the word plenty of the players are getting tired of him telling them one thing and he bleating something else to the media. He may well have won a CL for us, but for me his failure to find a way for us to score goals more frequently, especially when he gave the nod to bring Lukaku to the club is becoming alarming. Not many have picked up on He said it was the new owners decision to allow Lukaku to leave so early in the window as he was expecting to get down to work with him for a second season. Its almost like he is laying the foundation for future excuses if he doesn't get his way. What the British Government did to our club would have brought almost all others to their knees. We have been lucky to find a group of people who have been prepared to pay so much, which is an obvious pointer they are not going to run the club into the ground. I suggest taking a chill pill for a while and let this season play out with a "carefree" attitude. We should be optimistic of a ok/good season, knowing we could be just a new manager away from another wonderful European night
  10. If you was handed a note on the 1st of June with the names Sterling & Koulibaly will be our clubs only confirmed signings by the middle of July, how would you have felt? ............. Yeah, we have had worse full windows. Gallagher has stayed true to his word when he first left Cobham a few seasons ago when he promised he would return ready to battle for a place at the club. Depending on who's report you read or listen too, he told TT as early as mid last season his plans for this. Best news of the day conformation Ake asking price will not be met. That decision coupled with no move for Ronaldo are two plus marks for the new board. As much as I haven't been in favor of signing Ake the news that a expert French league journalist was asked to evaluate Presnel Kimpembe of PSG and linked with being a Chelsea player this window, stated he is no better than Tyrone Mings of Aston Villa with a regular mistake in him. Ake worry replaced with another possible signing we hope does not come to fruition!
  11. So many becoming frustrated by the lack of business by our club this window. Sky and others showing off their prick teasing skills by telling all that would listen to them we have Sterling lined up within 24 hours and we are at the front of the queue for the Leeds wide player among others. 48 hours later the truth is our new big chief is in Spain working on a different deal and probably using dropping out of the Leeds player deal to smooth other deals with his preferred destination. Not sure I am in favor of Ake or most of the other defenders we have been linked with. Ake is a head scratcher. Season ticket paid for and compliments to the club for the new payment system. Done n dusted in under 10 minutes.
  12. Seems there is plenty of substance to the Raphinia deal. Not sure how smart it is to get this one over the line before Sterling is complete. I remember Jose pulling the plug on Demba signing for Arsenal because they managed to get Ozil over the line. Maybe City will think along the same lines? Where there is no question Sterling is better than we have, I don't think its the same answer for the Leeds player. I very much enjoyed watching Leeds play under the previous manager. Lets face it very few didn't. What I remember of the player is he was exciting on the break away showing good pace n passing to ball to another Leeds shirt. I can hear some saying just by passing the ball to the same coloured shirt puts him ahead of one or two of ours! We shall see what happens.
  13. And now it's Raphinha ~ Ever get the feeling the media have lost their "Roman" sources and have decided on a scatter gun approach?
  14. I thought he did rather well, just didnt give the answers they were hoping for. Seems to be a tactic for United fans seeking out the homes of staff. At least they dont burgle them
  15. Turns out NIzaar Kinsella was right a few days ago.... Petr Cech has left his roll at the club
  16. Interesting read. The last few days so many people I often spend match days with are voicing an opinion that this window the Manager will be responsible for all decisions both in and out. The most alarming line I have been told, TT told the club before Lukaku made his Italian bombshell half way through the season, that he wasn't good enough to be the mainstay forward in his team. I guess that would explain why he spent so much time on the bench at that time. Others say Lukaku's attitude changed when the manager told him he needs to improve to play his system and reminded him before he signed TT told him what was expected of him. Obviously its silly season, but something must have happened at that level and for the club to get rid of him for a season so quickly pours fuel on those stories. Personally I would have rather had sorted the players in before allowing a major asset to leave, but I guess it adds to the suspense, especially as almost every player we have been strongly linked with gets linked to someone else within days, which underlines nobody fucking knows what's going on.
  17. @Redcanuck Richard Arnold, over trusting or pressured into a mistake? Not that he said anything wrong
  18. Expected ~ I have the worst feeling we are about to suffer the first public interview from a Chelsea owner for 20 years
  19. That seems to be the more popular opinion. I am still to be convinced there is any truth to the story and Sky Italy are hardly a stand out for getting things before anyone else. Who would be on your three player wishlist for next season?
  20. Haha... Must be coming around to the anniversary of that correct statement of mine. I bet a few of your deluded friends on this little board are still jerking off to that post, if they are still here that is. Thx for the Mane info. You think Salah will cash in too, interesting. They have both been smashing signings for you, Shame the league position didn't improve till the Goalie & CH had their first full seasons
  21. 35M I believe is wishful thinking, media being lead by the fee for Mane to Munich. Anything up to 50m may well turn out closer to the truth. That is. if the whole story is true!
  22. Hello Mate, Hope you and family are well. Yeah, I have heard that elsewhere, however I think he is a grade up on the others we have playing out wide other than Mount, who still has plenty more to grow into & I feel sure his career will involve him moving inside before long. The other name Sterling, who grew up close to the same area i lived in London earned when the buzz was all about him was the headless Chicken. There was more than a few times while at Liverpool he lived up to that tag, but over the last few years there is more substance to his finishing product, both Goals and Assists. Yes, you have become far more laid back Liverpool fan mate over the years I have been here. Alas the deluded army still outnumber all other club fans in writing total Bull shit on anything football. So much so, I am told the Mute Ignore Dumb buttons on Tv's and Computers are to be named changed to the "LiverpoolFC Button" Why has Mane left? Is there any truth he was jealous of the guy on the other wing?
  23. It may well turn out to be a Prick tease story, but Sterling at any price (35+) would be very welcome.
  24. Lots of strange but very interesting names being linked with the club. We maybe about to experience the first summer transfer window where our manager has first dibs on the players we sign.
