  1. Home Juventus CL ~ 4-0, even Timo scored Top atmosphere Youth team inspired goalscorers in a good old fashioned tonkin of one of Europe major clubs. It's not often I leave Stamford Bridge feeling as content with my club as last night. It was an excellent performance all round and while there will be those who feel the need to point out Juventus are below there normal standing, our youngsters maybe should have put more past them as our dominance was worthy of a wider margin. Could list each of the players for their efforts, but yet again young James stood out as a guy playing at the very top of his game. The loss of his wing back partner Chilwell will hurt us more then most would imagine. That guy is proving to be as much as a Leicester bargain as Kante. Left wing back? I would say Chilwell does a very good impression of a false Nine! Great night, well worth the ticket
  2. Thanks for the answer Stan. He always plays well against us pushed up on Jorginho. Happy we didnt see him till 2nd half.
  3. Been a topic of debate among my fellow Chelsea fans trying to work out why your Maddison did not start against us on Saturday? Is there a known reason you guys are aware of?
  4. Away Leicester, Watched via stream On the face of it we performed well and offered little to our opposition in both half's for them to get any kind of foothold in the game. However, evaluating exactly how good we were is difficult because its hard to grade what we beat as they are playing like the old Leicester City. I think Tigger sums it up well in his earlier post where said Leicesters players look like guys who have sussed the bloke talking to them at half time has his bags packed ready for a call elsewhere. As much as I enjoyed the game, I think I will hold fire until we have that kind of performance against someone in form. I loved the way Havertz lead the line in the first half and I thought CH0 earned his wage cheque with an excellent offering. Yeah I agree with ChelseaTotty he did look fresh, like he stayed home while all others traveled the world for a couple of weeks burning energy earning caps for their countries haha. But must tip my Hat to him, he did play well. Home Man Utd next, I hear we have appealed against Harry Maguire's sending off on Saturday.
  5. So we have a little light shed on Christensens contract situation. Can't say I am surprised as I smelt a little warning smoke a while back and we must not forget his history before he signed his present deal where his father proved to be as helpful as CHO's. The way things are looking if we continue with 3 at the back next season we may well have 3 new names filling the positions.
  6. I just hope he returns to the same health he had before the injury
  7. Home Burnley Horrible game to pay good money to watch. With all the possesion and sussing Burnley were as poor as normal, you just felt this was the game our inability to kill off inferiour sides would again bite us in the ass. I thought Havertz lead the line well with very little help from the 2 players directly behind him. Those two played narrow to allow space for our wing backs to roam forward. While that may look ok on paper, neither of the more central players had it in them to be matchwinners, or at least to lay on chances to others. They were the weak point of the team as well of the selection of 2 holding players. While Jorginho is playing better, he is no more than a passenger. Saturdays selection left us with more than one passenger which contributed to the loss of points. East London bailed us out on Sunday, but the real problem gained 2 points with an impressive performance.
  8. I think you are being a little harsh on your club mate. If there were to be a poll on the players coming through our youth system over the past five years on who would make it to a regular first team squad member, Trevoh would barely have made the top 20. His brother on the other hand would have made top 5. It's just weird how some arrive and grasp their moment and others fall away and end up at lower levels. Your club should be praised in the way they kept after young Gallagher after he chose West Brom over you last season. On an information note, how is Eberechi Eze doing?
  9. Away Malmo I thought they were very physical & we done well to escape without a few injuries. I guess we wont be sure of that till the weekend. An ok result which leaves us from a result to qualify. I'll be going to the Juventus game. Fingers crossed for a better game. ----------------------------------- Nice slice of news Trevoh Chalobah signs a new four-and-a-half year deal. I think we have all been impressed with him as his performances have been a wonderful suprise. I think I wrote here before, interesting the club pressed ahead with this contract over Christensen. Maybe he is next?
  10. Away Newcastle. Excellent 3 points for us if only for the fact it’s a fixture we tend to lose points at. They were very poor for the entire game & we seemed to be content with playing along with defence against offense without trying to bust a gut to score. As often happens in these kinda games, score once and floodgates open for a few more. James is looking everything we hoped he would become & disappointed he didn’t get to take penalty for his hat-trick.
  11. @carefreeluke Hello Luke, you make a couple fine points in your post mate. Yes I am not sold on Callum and would still put my name behind selling him given the chance of the kinda money Bayern where offering, however I took in our managers words today when he questioned his decision to play him as a right wing back after seeing him produce a better quality on the left flank, a point you made. Id agree after being played wide left almost exclusively during his youth days he looks more at home in that position, although his setting up of James up in Newcastle was as rare a Rocking Horse Dung as he went outside of defenders instead of his basic cut\check inside which is one of the things the manager as well as previous managers got tired of asking him to do. I for one hope we see more of the same from him, but I believe he will cause us more problems\heartache than opposing defenders.
  12. Disappointing news Kovacic is out till at least after the next International break with a hamstring. Real shame as he was starting to get his act together with assists. Manager says we wont see Lukaku or Werner till after that International break either. Not sure whats going on with Christensen. There are those who told us weeks ago he was signing a new contract, yet I hear there has been no communication between club n player for sometime. Does this mean the club are confident on Rudiger's contract?
  13. Any dislike, or frustration from some fans as I would put it, has been brought upon himself by both his people his performances & behavior since gaining his contract. Poor performances outweigh promising by roughly 5/1 which for me is being kind to the boy. The manager manufactured a new position for him which he hasn't taken too like Moses & the buzz around the ground of late is he does not listen to instructions from the manager. When you swindle a huge contract, that up to the time of signing many felt you did not deserve, you need to ensure you do not load any ammunition to those disgusted we caved in, instead of getting rid. Up too the time of tapping these words out I defy anyone who goes to the games to offer a case he has been worth the Contract. Do your job on the pitch and I will praise you. Hey the biggest headline he has produced since signing is his liking for late night probable call girl visits.
  14. There is alot of sense in what you suggest, however at the time of Bayern interest Chelsea as a club were suffering from "What If" syndrome and had turned to keeping many youngsters who were showing promise. German football including said club proved to have the knack of poaching young talent and getting the very best out of them and Bayerns interest set off alarm bells and probably a will to stop Bayern taking advantage of us. Today we have buy backs inserted into deals for our youngsters (Tammy Tino ect) who we feel maybe late bloomers. The timing was perfect for CHO people, he had just starred in a young world cup after benefiting from Dortmund calling Sancho back from the tournament allowing Callum to start wide left. He like many others excelled in his own age group & his short term contract was about to end. His people exploited the situation by asking the Earth. That was the time to sell as I and others stated at the time via ChelseaTV. After signing the contract he should have taken the same professional progression as young Gallagher who is now pulling up Trees at Palace. All clubs make mistakes and allowing Rice to leave is probably our worst. Ces't la vie
  15. @Redcanuck They used to say when the Bomb explodes you need to be standing next to Tony Book (I'm sure you remember him) to ensure survival. If Ole survives the week, he will become the new Tony Book of Manchester. ------- Was sent a funny link of Souness & Carragher giving United Neville advice on what to do with the bigger club. Take advice from a mob that took 30 years to become more than a make the numbers up club? Haha, they cant help themselves.
  16. There is alot to say on CHO and I feel sure you will not like almost all of it. I would hope you get to hear what is coming out of Cobham and Stamford Bridge on matchdays which I am guessing you don't as it would answer your gripe. From refusing to answer a under 21 call up to not carrying out managers instructions when he joins the pitch, Callum isn't feathering his bed with the people who control his destiny. Should have been moved on when we had the chance, as he should move on from those he allows to represent him and his parents.
  17. Home Norwich A very straight forward fixture which for once we killed off before the half and enjoyed a second half without worry. It must be said they are very poor and on this performance probably worse than we have seen from them during their recent EPL seasons. I was shocked by their managers substitutions at half time as was almost all around me. 7Oaks said we should get 10 now and to be fair with him it was a good shout. We finished the game with a mixture of second n third stringers on the pitch plus 5 of the goals scored by Home growns. On the whole a enjoyable day n trip home. Wasnt till I saw MOTD I saw Mount act the Pratt before taking the penalties. I wonder who talks to the young players since John moved on. Someone needs to have a quite word with Mason.
  18. A very comfortable 70 mins lead too a bombardment of 20 minutes that reminded of Wimbledon in their pomp. Thorn and Winterburn lumping the ball forward to Fash n Corky with others taking advantage of the mayhem the long ball created with chances of 2nd balls. Those last minutes would have been wonderful to enjoy if it wasn't my club under the cosh. Our young central defense lacked an organizer but rode their luck and benefited from a good performance from Mendy. They did not have it in them to move one across to help both wing backs who were left with up too 3 attackers when facing long balls in from the opposite touchline. I feel certain Silva would have dealt with those 20 minutes. Sarr. Looked to me as a very strong young man who plays like a Train crash waiting to happen Loftus-Cheek. As ever pure class with the ball moving forward, but still a passenger without the ball. Chillwell. I think he plays further forward than Alonso lol. Mendy. Wonderful shot stopper with none stick hands Lukaku&Werner. Signs there isn't much understanding between them yet. They say winning all points with late defensive performances builds belief in the squad. Killing games off before half time builds belief too but also stops the opposition from being optimistic they might get a result out of us. That's where we need to be.
  19. @Redcanuck Is it time for a change yet mate? I hear Steve Bruce will be available soon
  20. Home Southampton EPL Not the most fluent of performances but an excellent 3 points against a side who of late have an excellent record at Stamford Bridge and for once leave empty handed. Many changes to the starting line up by the manager with a few rarely seen faces getting starts and airtime throughout the fixture. The standout player, at least while he had the ball at his feet in an attacking phase was Reuben Loftus-Cheek. His effort without the ball continues to be an issue, but it was a real pleasure to see someone in the middle of the park in a Chelsea shirt carry the ball forward as an attacking menace. Yes Kovacic can carry the ball forward but lacks the penetrating ball to allow a chance on goal. FFS Rudiger is proving to be better than him in that position! The less said about the passenger the better. Southampton may have been reduced to ten men, but we were soon the same when Jorginho appeared. CHO got his wish and started wide left against the 18 year old who we sold to Southampton in the summer. Alas Odi did very little with some bidding Livramento as their player of the match. He sure earned the penalty. Laugh of the game for me was ItalianStalion, who you may know sits just in front of me at home games who turned to our group and proclaimed "I can't believe he has put on Barkley for Ruben?" just as Ross produced a contender for pass of the season out wide to Dave leading to Werner's goal. It was a classic ball as well as a classic Stallion moment. I am not going to get into Werner's disallowed goal. We had no idea what was going on till Daves name was put up on the screen as the guilty party. I am not sure if its the true amount but someone said Werner has now had 8 goals disallowed since being at the club. Poor lad can't catch a break and judging by Saturday Mike Dean will soon be going back to previous fixtures to stop Timo from adding to his total.
  21. That was a very poor performance where our weakness was exposed by a team with no form n many injuries to 1st 11 players. We finished the game with a couple of players on the pitch who just a few short weeks ago we were desperately trying get rid of and a young kid playing in his secondary position, although he did more than the bloke he replaced. Might be said our manager has got himself into a pickle or our opposition has sussed who are our passengers. The past two games have illuminated this coming weekends. Lets hope our new centre forward gets the service he needs to do his job.
  22. So Kante's weekend performance is explained ~ Co-vid
