So is this an acceptance that Matic isnt good enough to do the roll he was supposed to have been bought for? Afterall, former United muppets have been accusing my club of being crazy of allowing our last seasons weakest player to leave for double his value to us who was the answer to making Pogba the free midfielder, yet here we are reading United still have to add more to allow the almost a 100m player to be able to play. Some might say whoever is doing the buying at your club has his head up his ass (We already know your ex muppets have their heads there)...... Alas, that buying description tends to be a common theme for a few proper clubs -

Isnt that what Matic is sopposed to do? Oh I think the bombshell dropped by the Man City manager before the game sheds bucket's full of light on Pogba's reported falling out with Jose n mega sulk about the club during the timescale of the last window. You can't drop a bombshell like that without it being smothered in truth and of course, Pogba's performance could also be down to trying to get that move across Manchester! -
Went to the Norwich game today to see John playing for Villa. Poor sod was limping about hurt for most of the game. Villa look to have dried up infront of goal and will probably have to gamble on the playoffs. Norwich were very physical & took advantage of a official who didnt grab hold of the game allowing Norwich to kick Villa off the ball throughout the game. I really dont get to see enough Championship games to make a educated choice on who will skip through the said playoff's, but I hope John stay's fit n helps Villa back. Question is, can they get enough better players to stay in the Premier League, because on today's evidence I saw at Norwich, very few would leave you confident of staying up.

I never saw it, but I understand he answered with a couple of goals against the run of the game which set up the win today. About bloody time he did something. Congrats! -
Not seen Ken Monkou for years. Hear he does a little bit for Southampton. Nice to see he has worked out our season. Not hard I must say. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/losing-diego-costa-killer-blow-12321901 Ok..... Who has been telling Danny Murphy to read what I have been saying for most of the season?????? https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/antonio-conte-s-mistakes-are-costing-chelsea-a-place-in-the-top-four-writes-danny-murphy-a3807771.html

Manchester City were offered the chance to buy Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United in January, says manager Pep Guardiola. Guardiola said the pair's agent, Mino Raiola, contacted him and told him the midfielders were available. Pogba, who joined United for a then record £89m in 2016, stayed at Old Trafford but Mkhitaryan joined Arsenal. Raiola told BBC Sport he did not speak to Guardiola but did not deny telling City of the players' availability. @Redcanuck ~ so would this mean United now agree with me..... Huge waste of money? -
There are those at the club who will tell you Luiz injury is no worse than the one he played through last season. I am sure I dont need to paint a picture to help work out why he isnt doing the same this season. I dont want to flag up Christensen any more, I saw his weaknesses early and I am amazed how he isnt getting bad press, as Gary is, who has been asked to play the wrong side for him. The boy has so much potential it seems we have decided to go down the road of allowing him to learn his trade in our first team. Think back to other young players full of potential we have had on the books these past few years who all said the same as Christensen. "Play me or sell me" So we sold them, and they are now some of the very better players about after learning their trade in weaker club sides. Haha, it seems no matter what we do of late, we get burnt either way. I am sure he will turn out the classy player we all hope, just wish he could deal with a long ball hit over his head a little better.

He first posted this name before the end of last season and took a lot of stick during a time Conte could do no wrong. Almost a year on, it don't sound so daft now. Thomas Tuchel However, there is news he maybe on his way to PSG because they cant get a conformation out of Conte. We will see
-
No Mate ~ It's not hard to work out, it's someone who announced they would be taking a year out around the same time as Conte's wage increase.
-
Oh, some are comparing the increase in wages for Conte & no extension of contract being coupled in the same way as the club found themselves with Robbie after he won the CL. I was told way back then, Jose was all set to return, but Robbie won the CL, got a two year contract and Jose stayed in Madrid for another year. Someone I know who has often been right in the past has been saying all season our next manager was supposed to take over this season. Instead he is unemployed awaiting moving to London. We shall see.

Lots of intelligence being shown since Luke's excellent posting, but I do feel nobody has picked up on the main difference of our team last season compared to this. Luke's point on us having difficulty moving the ball quickly when we win the ball is answered pretty much by Frank each time he talks about our counter attacking over the period of 10+ years. He always said when we got the ball and there was no immediate outlet, the ball hit at Drogba became a key weapon. When Jose returned and Drogba was no longer that force, he fixed it with Costa. Now for whatever reason, and you all know what I think the reason was he was let go, we have not been able to replace that target man who so much would drop from benefiting our team. I have always said any player signed from overseas gets a season to come to fruition. Morata has not shown consistency other than behaving like a child attracting Yellow cards like a fresh Turd attracts Flies, and even the most optimistic Chelsea fan must have doubts he will be better next season. The insistence of the manager playing our best player in a so called force Nine was pretty much the time Hazard lost all form, so not only has the manager fucked us over with Costa, he has managed to find a way to lose our best player most match days since Christmas. Hence, for my mind, we find ourselves in the biggest hole the club has been in since the arrival of Glenn Hoddle. Jose's bad season is said to be down to the players not playing for him. Whats Conte's excuse? As much as I applauded how he turned around last season, for me this season is as far in the opposing direction he could have traveled. Some of his decisions in team selections & general leading the club in the eyes of the media MUST have other clubs thinking do they want a Manic Depressive in charge of their club when things don't go his way? I would add, the names being put forward as new manager material, none catch my eye. I strongly feel the need to bring it in house, someone who has the club running through his veins with help from others of the same. Afterall, when it was last in the hands of one of our own, that Big Eared Trophy found its way to London for the 1st n only time. I'll being going to the return FA Youth cup Semi Final and will meet up with a few who work for the club. It will be interesting to hear what they are prepared to share.
-
Watched another of our Youth teams win the first leg of the FA Youth cup semi final tonight and enjoyed their 3-0 win at Birmingham. Chelsea TV were on top form with tributes from many of our family for Ray and the kids put on a great show with a great performance. Ray would have been proud.
-
With nothing being posted in here since the loss at the weekend, I hope this means you are all suffering with the hurt of this seasons failures. This manager has ruined his legacy at the club and is proving to be pretty pathetic. The quicker he is shown the door the better, although from what I have been told we can expect both parties to play Chicken into the summer. We shall see

Sad day with Ray passing ~ Wonderful product of a time when we had no other way than to use the players we produced ourselves, Ray was as Blue as they come. Excellent on the ball with a good engine he once said he cried on the day he was told he had to leave us because the club needed the money. The outpouring of people touching on the class of the man as a person bodes well. He truly was a gentleman.

As I said, 100% down to the manager https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/diego-costa-lifts-lid-chelsea-12226476 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5527205/Costa-not-fault-ended-exile-Chelsea.html https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/diego-costa-chelsea-exile-brazil-falling-out-antonio-conte-a3795861.html

Micky Hazard ~ Better than Dixon Speedie & Nevin ~ Loved by us representing the club on terraces Home Away n Neighboring streets & wasted by Bobby Campbell for almost his entire time at the club. A cut above

I have defended Willian since he climbed off of Spurs medical bed a good few years ago. Yeah its taken all that time for him to become the stand out player we thought we signed back then, but I have to say It's nice to see him performing so well. Long may it continue and judging by the managers words after the past game, he is currently the first name on the team sheet. Pretty sure we are all agreed the game on Saturday should have been finished off before half time, but yet again we were forced to suffer the ending of the game with the oppo still in it. It seems we cant have a game of late without Christensen offering at least one golden chance. I was at the game and the feller next to me he thought we dodged a bullet missing out on Stones, only to get someone else just as unreliable in Christensen. The Stones comparison is true enough, and like Stones, Christensen has built a reputation of having a mistake in him which clubs are trying to pressure him to making every game. Alas he is of late and we have to hope he goes mistake free till the end of the season. Lots of interesting names being spoken of before the game who are said to be possible summer signings. Cant say how much truth there is in them, but I figure with our track record of late, it wont matter who the new manager is on the clubs new signings.

Agree!

Id like to see former players brought back to the club to install the attitude of a winning mentality that they brought & lived at the club. Zola now has enough experience elsewhere with inferior players with either one of Drogba Lampard or Terry holding his had. Can you imagine how it would make Chelsea fans feel? I know this is unlikely, but for me the club, at this time, needs people who have lived the club. I happen to think its the main difference between the last two permanent managers, something I dont think Conte has ever grasped. If you see him on ChelseaTV as often as I do, you would understand what I am poorly trying to express. Jose, for all the faults n mistake during his 2nd time around, had the club through his veins. With us moving away from Stamford Bridge in the near future, the managers job will become harder than at anytime during this century.

You need to show more intelligence Madlad, but you are entitled to your opinion, again, yours is one I dont feel the need to take seriously. Oh, not baiting you this time mate, no need to respond

Your have some company now Gonzo

Gentlemen, much thanks for taking a interest in this subject matter of Hazard against the rest. When evaluating a player it's important to decide if they can do at least the same as each other. The players some of you are putting forward are having career seasons, a level they have never reached before. What we are seeing them produce has already been shown by Hazard, however, there is plenty Hazard has produced in a Chelsea shirt that your offerings, at the time of writing, have not shown us they can do. For me, that rules them out, at this time, being considered as the best in our league. What your offerings can be accused of is being the most inform players and I am sure that will bare evidence in player of the season polls. Body of work against best current form ~ its the difference between understanding football & football opinion lead by shortsightedness.
