I don't get TUDN channel so I have missed those games, and this weekend I was a bit busy, but I would say that I've watch 75% of the matches and haven't been too impressed.
Mpache Posted July 20, 2020 Author Posted July 20, 2020 Jordan Morris is such a baller. Looked poor in the opening 2 games but now looks back to his best.

Mpache Posted July 20, 2020 Author Posted July 20, 2020 Ruidiaz scores, 3-0. I hope that goal makes his confidence skyrocket, in what has been a pretty poor tournament from him otherwise. He sure looked happy about that one!
Mpache Posted July 20, 2020 Author Posted July 20, 2020 Seattle won 3-0 last night. If there's anything I can say, is that Whitecaps are the worst team in the MLS. Even worse than Cincinnati.
Mpache Posted July 20, 2020 Author Posted July 20, 2020 @Eco Looks like Farfan is leaving Lokomotiv. Any MLS team you think could suit him? I think he's a guaranteed DP but where could he go.

Not really sure what the DP situation is looking like for other teams at the moment, but I do believe that Orlando City and Columbus have an open DP slot.

He said he wasn't going back to Peru yet, and I doubt another European team will snap him up so I think MLS is likely. Columbus would be a great side for him.
Mpache Posted July 21, 2020 Author Posted July 21, 2020 Saw Philadelphia vs Orlando last night, and I reckon one of those 2 will be in the final of this competition. I didn't expect anything from either prior to this, but they are quite good. Confident, clear gameplan and have enough quality to reach that point.

Philly has a very young team, and should signs last year of being a really good squad as long as they all continue to progress. Orlando surprises me though, but it's also at their home and I reckon that helps having family and friends so close

Last night was arguably the highest quality game in the competition collectively (though I missed the LA clasico). Orlando has been a revelation to me. Nani and Mueller are both playing very well, and has shifted the team to a new level. Philly as you said has good young players like Aaronson and in my opinion have the best goalkeeper in the MLS in Andre Blake.

TYeah, I still think Guzan is probably the most talented, with Blake and Sean Johnson barely behind (fun fact, I played against Sean back in High School as our schools were both ranked in soccer, and less than 8 miles apart). I still struggle to watch this tournament with any enthusiasm. I'll watch United last match, but I just can't get into it since it still seems rushed and quite poorly planned. Matches at 9am is such a stupid thing to have.

Not like Orlando is super cold by that time a year either. Could have been done most months. And yes on the 9 AM matches. Ruidiaz actually complained about that, saying that the 9 AM teams have a disadvantage.

Eco Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Kid is asleep just in time for kick off. Happy to see Bello back starting. Funny stat, since inception, Atlanta United has never gone back-to-back games without a goal, but now we have. Looking to make that 3 in a row tonight. I predict a solid 3-0 Crew win.
Mpache Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 Atlanta United's defence needs to go in the bin.

Escobar is really good, Robinson is elite for the MLS, Bello is a very good young player, and Guzan is a top GK in the league. Yet so far this year, they have been a disaster.
Deco Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 I’ve got this match for over 9.5 corners in my mid-week acca. Atalanta really seem to be missing that spark so far tonight, especially at the back.

Meza seems to be off, Adams isn't great but serviceable, and going forward, no one knows what to do without Josef Martinez. Plus, I still go with the fact that I think FDB is an awful manager. Winnings titles at Ajax is no massive achievement.
Eco Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Last year we were so much better. Parkhurst was the true leader, we had Vazquez and Tito off the bench going forward, and then we had a Nagbe in the Midfield, that would feed the ball to either Pity, Barco, or Josef. Now we don't have Parkhurst, no Vazquez, no Tito, no Nagbe, and Josef is out injured.

They understand and tolerate their sports culture best. Martino succeeded but often the winning managers are from the United States.

Sigi in the #2 position (both non-U.S. citizens). Then maybe Marsh, Vernes, Bradley, and I am super impressed with what Almeyda has been able to do. If you or your Dad mentioned Bruce Arena I'll ban you right now.
