The Denmark international has two years left on his contract, but is unsure about committing to a new deal to extend his stay in north London. Should Hojbjerg leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he would call time on an impressive three-year spell at the Premier League outfit, who he joined from Southampton in 2020. Hojbjerg has made 145 appearances across all competition for the side, and excelled under an array of Spurs' managers during the period. But there is concern that the midfielder may not fit into the free-flowing side that Postecoglou is determined to shape at the club, which could hasten a move. Danny
Feel like he’d suit Simeone’s style of play well, bit too limited for what Spurs need imo
OrangeKhrush
I don't think he was that bad, but do agree he doesn't fit spurs model
Administrator Stan Posted August 29, 2023 Author Administrator Share Posted August 29, 2023 Quote Manchester United are considering a surprise move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. United have been offered the chance to open talks over Hojbjerg, who Tottenham are willing to sell before Friday’s transfer deadline. Atlético Madrid had a bid of £30 million accepted earlier in the summer for the 28-year-old but the move collapsed after a failure to agree personal terms. The Denmark international recently also turned down the chance to join the Saudi Pro-League despite being offered a highly lucrative salary package of £45 million net of tax over the term of his contract. Hojbjerg joined Spurs on a five-year deal for £15 million from Southampton in 2020, when he became Jose Mourinho’s first summer signing, and has been a key senior player up until this season. He has made two substitute appearances so far in the Premier League under new head coach Ange Postecoglou, who has preferred a pairing of Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr. It remains to be seen whether United progress talks although their manager Erik ten Hag has been urging them to sign another central midfielder. Ten Hag also knows Hojbjerg from the pair’s time at Bayern Munich together back in 2013. https://12ft.io/proxy?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.telegraph.co.uk%2Ffootball%2F2023%2F08%2F28%2Fmanchester-united-transfer-news-hojberg-move-tottenham%2F
