Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted June 4 Subscriber Share Posted June 4 He'd probably do well in the right system. Seems like he's finally got over his post-Covid dip physically. Great physical attributes, just lacking in defensive awareness and poor on the ball.

Administrator Stan Posted June 27 Author Administrator Share Posted June 27 Lyon upping the bid - £12.7m. Quote French club Lyon have made a £12.7m bid for Everton defender Ben Godfrey. Godfrey joined from Norwich for £25m in 2020 and has gone on to make 93 appearances for the Toffees, including 16 last season. The 26-year-old is entering the final 12 months of his contract at Goodison Park. Last season's Europa League winners Atalanta are also understood to be interested in the Englishman, who has won two caps for his country. Godfrey reportedly, external saw a £10m move to the Serie A side fall through in January.

Yeah that was the summer of Moshiri throwing one last pile of money at the whole thing. Signed Ancelotti, James, Allan, Doucoure and Godfrey. About £80m in transfer fees that summer and an extra £30m a year on the wage bill between them. Apparently the club want £15m for Godfrey. Anything over £10m would be great in my opinion. He's a squad player and he could leave for free in 12 months.

Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted June 28 Subscriber Share Posted June 28 He's too weak on the ball to be a full-back or a wing back and he isn't good enough in the air to play as a traditional central defender. Apparently Atalanta play with three central defenders and the perfect role for him is to play on the right-hand side of that back three. It's a great move for him and a good deal for us. We make a loss on the player but in terms of what we could realistically have expected to pull in for him heading into the last year of his contract, I think anything over £10m is a good deal for us. This is a transfer where everyone wins quite comfortably I think. I hope it works out for him.

OrangeKhrush
I think this is a low key but smart signing. There is a player there and Atalanta love high intensity. Would not be shocked if he turns out a good signing
