Obviously what he did was revolting and needed to be punished, but I tend to agree with @carefreeluke's sentiment that a man shouldn't have his career ruined over one amygdala-driven moment of madness. Also, I think he and Gary Neville are the best pundits on television by a very long way, and while I know that shouldn't come into consideration, I certainly wasn't looking forward to the prospect of hearing more from the likes of Henry, Redknapp, and Souness. Heinous offence as I think spitting is disgusting but it's not like he's done it unprovoked or just randomly. Couple months suspension and revisit the matter just before next season starts.
