Eco
Quote Roma fined for Liverpool fracas Roma have been fined €50,000 for crowd disturbances before their Champions League semi-final first leg against Liverpool. UEFA has also banned Roma from selling tickets to fans for their next two European away games, with the second deferred under a probationary period of two years. Liverpool fan Sean Cox suffered serious head injuries in an attack outside Anfield before his team’s 5-2 win on April 24 and remains hospitalised. BBC Sport also understands charges against the Reds ‘will be dealt with at a later date’ after they asked UEFA to take ‘more time’ before reaching a verdict. Dr. Gonzo
Yeah, pleasantly surprised by this. But Roma are repeat offenders so the argument can be made the punishment is a bit light.
