  1. Karnicnik scores to give Slovenia the lead! It was a lovely goal, started by Karnicnik way in his own half. Karnicnik went on a run with the ball down the right flank, he eventually passed the ball across the pitch to Elsnik on the other wing, Elsnik then produced a delightful cross that Karnicnik got on the end of to kick the ball into the net and score. Slovenia 1-0 Serbia
  2. Sesko has a shot from outside the area saved and tipped over the bar by Serbian keeper Rajkovic! That was a decent effort by Sesko.
  3. Mitrovic has a header from a dangerous cross fly narrowly over the bar! Another dangerous chance for Mitrovic. He is their dangerman in the attacking 3rd.
  4. Mitrovic has a chance through on goal again here in the 2nd half, but his shot is saved by Oblak again!
  5. Oblak saves Motrovic's close range shot, Oblak was quick off his line to stop the danger.
  6. Slovenia's Elsnik hits the post and Sesko's shot from the rebound goes over the bar. But that was a lovely move and chance for Slovenia, very unlucky.
  7. Serbia were the favourites going into this, but it's been Slovenia who have been much the livelier side going forward.
  8. Slovenia have been on the front foot for most of the opening 20 minutes of this match and it's Slovenia that have created the best chances so far. Slovenia have looked better than the more favoured Serbia.
  9. How both Wirtz and Havertz only scored 1 point each during Germany's 2-0 win over Hungary is beyond me. (
  10. This will be an interesting Balkan encounter between two countries of the former Yugoslavia. Serbia are favourites, but little Slovenia have shown that they can play some good football and Sesko provides a real threat for them.
  11. This is a good point. Football fans usually love to get political, especially for Ukraine, with what's going on in their country with the war. However, I don't think fights will break out among the crowds, but there could definitely be some chanting about this in the stands. Slovakia went from a government that supported Ukraine, to a government that now is against helping Ukraine with military aid. The current Slovak Prime Minister even went as far as saying that Ukraine should give up its occupied territory to Russia, something that hasn't gone down well in Ukraine.

    Euro 2024

I know your questions was to Fusion, but just to help answer, the current Greece national team are relatively decent. It wasn't that long ago that the Greece national team was losing to teams like Estonia, Belarus, Luxembourg and the Faroe Islands. In their attempt to qualify for Euro 2016, Greece infamously lost both home and away to the Faroe Islands in their qualifying group, something that was a new low for them. The Greece national team today is much improved. The main reason they didn't qualify for these Euros is because they were drawn in a tough qualifying group alongside both France and the Netherlands. Obviously France and the Netherlands finished in the top 2 positions in the group and qualified for the Euros. Greece however, still managed to draw with France on home soil in Athens(Although the French had already qualified at that point) and Greece also beat the Republic of Ireland both home and away. Needless to say, they also thrashed the other team in the group Gibraltar both home and away. This meant that Greece finished 3rd in their group and faced a play-off match against Georgia. However, they could only draw 0-0 with Georgia in Tbilisi and they then lost on penalties to them and got knocked out. Greece have some decent players like Douvikas, Tzolis, Pavlidis, Tsimikas, Giannoulis, Mavropanos and Vlachodimos. So hopefully they'll have better luck in their quest to qualify for the next major international tournament, namely the next World Cup.
  13. Yeah, I don't think the level of opposition is taken into account with the expectations of some people. If the level of opposition doesn't count, we could say Scotland should have won against Germany as well. Both the Germans and the Swiss, were odds on favourites to beat Scotland, that's not the case with Hungary. The fact is, under normal circumstances, Scotland are almost always going to lose against Germany, because Germany are a much stronger team. The Swiss are not as strong as the Germans, but still stronger on paper than Scotland. So getting a draw against the Swiss and not losing is a positive result. A win against their so called least strong opposition Hungary, is what now awaits Scotland, if they want to qualify. But the draw against the Swiss has greatly helped their chances of qualifying, because a loss against the Swiss, would have put a big dent in their chances of making it to the Round of 16.
  14. When's the last time they played better than that? I've not seen them play that well in a while and against a strong side like Switzerland, that's an achievement. A draw does help, they have 1 extra point, increasing their chances of qualifying if they get that much needed win against Hungary. If they'd lost today, their chances of qualifying would have been significantly lower.
  15. Well they needed a win against Germany as well, but all this is easier said than done. They've got their final match against arguably the weakest of their opposition in their group and they will just have to step up against Hungary.
  16. Well against a good side like Switzerland it is and the fact their performance was much improved. One of the best games I've seen them play for a while.
  17. Yeah, they were the better side in the 2nd half in my opinion, even though the Swiss did have some dangerous chances themselves. But this is a much improved performance from Scotland, they were really good today.
  18. This is a great result for Scotland. Their final group match against Hungary should be a real nail biting game. Both teams will have to go for a win, because a draw will not be any good for either side. A win for Scotland against Hungary, would most likely have them qualify for the last 16. While if Hungary win against Scotland, there is even a slim chance that they might qualify.
  19. Tierney is injured and it looks like he will leave the pitch. That would be a bit of a blow for Scotland.
  20. Xhaka with a powerful shot at goal is well saved again by Angus Gunn!
