  1. Well he is their main forward, he is always going to be the one scoring most of their goals. He is always going to get chances in this very talented Spanish side. He has scored 36 international goals for Spain, because he is at the tip of their attack, but that doesn't mean that he hasn't wasted so many chances during his career. Anyone who has watched him over the years, will know how many big chances he has wasted.
  2. Croatia try to respond straight away and Kovacic runs in on goal and has a shot saved by Simon.
  3. Morata was put through on goal with a lovely pass and Morata slotted the ball past Livakovic and into the net. Spain 1-0 Croatia
  4. He plays his football for world beaters Lecce these days.
  5. I do like Lovro Majer, he is such a talented attacking midfielder, who has been integral to the Croatia national team in recent years. He holds his own next to the much more experienced Croatian players who play around him in this Croatian national team.
  6. @nudge's favourite defender Pongracic is starting for Croatia today.
  7. Morata has a shot from outside the area saved by Livakovic.
  8. Yeah, Hungary were much better in the 2nd half and deserved their goal. But Szobosloszi was poor for most of the match, despite delivering a lovely cross that assisted Hungary's goal. He will need to improve his performances if Hungary are going to achieve their goal of qualifying for the next round. Sallai for me was Hungary's best player. The Swiss were excellent in the 1st half and they played fought hard after Hungary pulled a goal back in the 2nd half. The Swiss deserved this win in the end and they have boosted their chances of making the next round.
  9. I think that Spain have been a little underestimated in the build up to this competition and I think that Croatia have been slightly overrated. I like Unai Simon is a very good keeper and Spain look good in defence and in the creative area of their team. For me the only player I'm not too crazy about is Morata. He seems to waste a lot of opportunities that come his way, but then again, he has scored some very important goals during his career. But I think Spain look strong and they look like the best team in the group to me. As for Croatia, no doubt they still have some big names in their team still. But 5 of the 6 players in their midfield and attack are all in their 30's, with Modric now 38 years of age. Croatia's defence is relatively young though, but I still think that dynamic and very talented teams like Spain should get the better of Croatia. 16 year old Lamine Yamal is starting for Spain today against Croatia, which is quite incredible and he will be the youngest player to ever play at a European Championships. This should be another entertaining match, but I expect Spain to just edge it.
  10. Embolo scores after a terrible headed clearance by the Hungarian defence, finds Embolo. Embolo lobbed Gulasci to score Switzerland's 3rd goal. Switzerland 3-1 Hungary
  11. The forward Martin Adam comes on, but is it me or does he look a little overweight, lol.
  12. It's game on again in this match, as there are still 22 minutes left to play and Hungary have looked lively in the last quarter of an hour.
  13. Varga scores with a header from Szoboszlai's cross and he pulls a goal back for Hungary! Switzerland 2-1 Hungary
  14. A lovely cross from Sallai finds Varga, but Varga's header goes over the bar. That was a big chance for Hungary and Varga really should have done better with his header.
  15. Szoboszlai has looked poor so far to be fair. He's not really been in the game.
  16. Sallai seems like the main outlet for Hungary. He's the player who looks like he will make something happen and maybe help Hungary score.
  17. Vargas has a well struck shot on goal saved by Gulacsi and the Hungarian keeper holds onto the ball as well.
  18. Duah has a powerful shot well saved by Gulacsi in the Hungarian goal.
  19. Did Pougatch just pronounce Gulacsi as "Goulash"?! That's the national food dish of Hungary, not the national team goalkeeper. Someone like Pougatch, who is the grandson of a Jewish Ukrainian refugee, should know better about pronouncing Eastern European names properly.
  20. Yeah, they gave him too much time to line that shot up. But Aebischer has been the man of the match so far. It was his through ball that set up the 1st goal and now he's scored from that lovely strike to get the 2nd goal.
  21. A lovely goal by Aebischer gives the Swiss a 2-0 lead! Aebischer struck a swerving shot from outside the area and it found the corner of the net. Great strike that! Switzerland 2-0 Hungary
  22. Orban gets a header from a cross from a free-kick, but his header goes straight to Sommer in the Swiss goal.
