  1. Luxembourg are an improved side and Iceland had a bad start to their qualifying campaign, they have since improved. Anyone who understands football, will have seen yesterday the level that Iceland are at. They can play football and are no pushovers, they have several dangerous players. But yes, England should always be beating them still. But it was a friendly and friendlies don't really mean much, more a learning lesson more than anything else. Southgate will have hopefully learnt a lot more about his players and how to play from yesterday's match.
  2. Scotland drew 2-2 with Finland at Hampden Park. An own goal by Hoskonen and a goal by Shankland gave Scotland a 2-0 lead early in the 2nd half. But a goal by Finland's Kallman and a late penalty goal by Antman made it 2-2 for Finland. Scotland 2-2 Finland
  3. What was learnt from this match from Ukraine's perspective, is that the centre backs Zabarnyi and Matviyenko are key players for Ukraine, as their absence from today's game showed. Ukraine's defence with them playing is almost always solid, that wasn't the case today in their absence. Moreover, Ukrainian keeper Bushchan is nowhere near the level of Lunin or Trubin. Bushchan who was Ukraine's number 1 keeper at Euro 2020, is known for his great shot stopping ability, but he is not the best in the aerial duals and he doesn't always make the best decisions when coming for crosses. Today he didn't look great when dealing with crosses and it is not too surprising that 2 of Poland's goals today came as a result of corners. Bushchan should have done better with Poland's opening goal from Walukiewicz, as his shot went through Bushchan's legs and ended up in the goal. Bushchan should definitely have done better with Poland's 2nd goal which came from Zielinski. Zielinski's cross shot ended up in the back of the net, after Bushchan didn't react in time. While with the 3rd Polish goal, Bushchan could have perhaps come out to claim the cross before it reached Romanczuk who managed to head the ball and score. Bushchan may generally be a very good shot stopper and he may have been Ukraine's best keeper at Euro 2020, but that is not the case anymore, as the younger world class keepers Lunin and Trubin are much better than him these days. Ukraine also started with Yarmolenko and Zubkov as wingers. They are simply not on the level of Tsyhankov and Mudryk. Yarmolenko is someone who could be very useful as a substitute, because he can still be influential, but Tsyhankov and Mudryk have to start. Also Sydorchuk who started today, is not as good in that defensive midfield position as Stepanenko, Brazhko or Malinovskyi. One of these 3 midfielders will start alongside Zinchenko at the Euros, it definitely won't be Sydorchuk, because he is not as good as them. Of today's Ukrainian starting line-up, only 3 players are very likely to start for Ukraine at the Euros. With Ukraine's key players back, Ukraine will be a very tough team to beat.
  4. Newcastle could buy themselves a bargain in seasoned Italian striker Federico Chiesa, who Juventus are reported to be willing to sell for £34 million-£38 million. Newcastle eyeing £34m deal to sign Euro 2024 star as asking price drops (footballfancast.com)
  5. Iceland are a tough team and no pushovers as they proved, but England should be beating them. Fair enough it's a friendly and the manager was trying out tactics, but Southgate must have us performing to the levels we are capable of performing at the Euros. There is so much talent going forward in this England team, it's only the defence that's really a bit of an issue. Pickford also has to start, okay he is not an elite keeper, but he is still top class and very consistent for England. Ramsdale shouldn't start for us, he is more mistake prone as we saw again today.
  6. Liverpool are showing interest in Atalanta's Ederson. He looks a good player if they manage to get him.
  7. Lewandowski has a shot at goal and forces a good block by Bushchan!
  8. Germany take the lead with a goal by Pascal Gross! Germany 2-1 Greece
  9. Tymchyk has a header fly over the Polish bar.
  10. Sudakov has a powerful close range shot excellently blocked by Skorupski.
  11. AC Milan look set to buy Joshua Zirkzee for €40 million from Bologna. Bayern Munich are set to pocket €20 million from the transfer, as they had a 50% sell on clause agreed in the contract when he joined Bologna. 12. Reports claim that Bayern Munich are after Francisco Conceicao. Bayern linked with Portuguese winger (bulinews.com)
  13. I think that £60 million is about his value in today's transfer market to be fair.
  14. Havertz equalises for Germany! Germany 1-1 Greece
  15. Stuttgart should sell a maximum of 2 of their better players and they should reinvest that money wisely in new players. Selling most of their in demand players is not what they should be doing.

Zverev is leading Ruud by 2 sets to 1 set and Zverev is up a break in the 4th set.
  17. Scotland still drawing 0-0 with Finland, but the Scots have had their chances.
  18. It was really Neuer's mistake for Greece's goal, but Germany have created some dangerous chances and it looks like they should get back into this match in the 2nd half.
  19. Ramsdale really shouldn't of gotten beaten at his near post for Iceland's goal. That will go down as a mistake by him. But Kane should have really equalised with that close range effort he had, after he got on the end of Palmer's delivery. Kane usually buries those chances.
  20. Dovbyk scores and pulls a goal back for Ukraine! Malinovskyi found Dovbyk with a pass outside the area and Dovbyk controlled the ball and found the bottom hand corner of the net with a low accurate finish! Poland 3-1 Ukraine
  21. Walukiewicz bundles the ball past Bushchan to give Poland the lead in Warsaw! Poland 1-0 Ukraine Zielinski scores Poland's 2nd goal as his cross-shot found its way past Bushchan and into the Ukraine net. Bushchan really should have done better there, that will go down as his mistake. Poland 2-0 Ukraine Poland score a 3rd goal as Romanczuk heads the ball into the net from a cross from a corner. Ukraine's reserve defenders and the 3rd choice keeper Bushchan are having a nightmare today. Poland are pumped up for this match in front of a packed stadium. Poland 3-0 Ukraine Tymchyk has a close range shot brilliantly blocked by Polish keeper Skorupski, as the keeper stuck his leg out to block the shot and prevent it from ending up in the net. Malinovskyi has a long range shot go narrowly wide of the Polish post!
  22. Masouras gives Greece a shock lead against Germany! Germany 0-1 Greece
  23. England's Foden hasn't been playing to his usual high standards today.
  24. England have had a lot of possession but they are just not creative enough so far.
  25. Jon Dagur porsteinsson is the player who has given Iceland a shock lead against England at Wembley. England 0-1 Iceland
