  1. Honestly not sure what this will solve in terms of English football, but if you’re a Premier League club then you can basically secure enough investment each season to try and compete with the bigger clubs. No wonder they didn’t vote for it
  2. So not quite and definitely not quite then
  3. I still hope Luton can stay up, but how funny would it be for Burnley to stay up above them all. Looked dead and buried at one point, completely out of ideas, how have they got back into this?
  4. I would imagine the set-up at United in Fergie's latter years probably resembled the European model a lot anyway, but just that the specifics of it was that Fergie was essentially the DoF/Manager and then he had coaching staff to coach the team during the week and David Gill to help manage everything behind the scenes. With that level of control I don't think the structure at United was too dissimilar to what you see a lot of English clubs trying to put in place with the director of football method.
  5. Pep won the treble in his first season at Barce taking a team that finished 18 points behind Real Madrid in 3rd place the season before and turning them into one of the greatest teams to have ever played the game, whilst spending under £100m, so I chose him!
  6. This is such a classic Palace move, really good signing and from a Palace perspective I guess it keeps their centre backs in the defence rather than midfield.
  7. Thiago's 28th goal of the season at 2:14...
  8. This is a question for Arsenal fans....do you not miss the va va voom that Arsenal used to possess? One thing I've noticed about watching Arsenal this season, and generally it's regardless of how many you score or don't score, but on the eyes you're quite dull. There's not really any flair or mercurial talent in the team aside from maybe Odegaard and occasionally Jorginho. I remember watching Wenger's best teams and knowing that regardless of what happens, you're going to be entertained. Thinking about Cazorla, Ozil, Sanchez, Ramsey, Giroud, Wilshere from your recent FA Cup winning sides....then you go back to Arsenal's peak years and those teams were pure joy to watch. I know you could argue Arteta is making you better (well yet to be proven), and more defensively solid, and you could also argue he's somewhere between Wenger and Graham, but I feel like Arteta is losing what made Arsenal unique regardless of whether you won or lost.
  9. Am I right in thinking this is the moment that really put Jansson out of Bielsa and Leeds plans @Lucas? https://x.com/HLTCO/status/1784510413486395564 I think selling Jansson was probably one of the worst decisions the club made in terms of their long-term security. Cannot explain how integral he was to not only our promotion but to staying in the league and competing to a very good standard two seasons in a row. I think if Leeds still had him they'd be just a little bit more solid/organised at the back, even when he's not fit the standards he sets around the club are sky high. It's no surprise that we have struggled defensively at times this season, of course there are a lot of other factors, but having him around to come in was really important when needed.
  10. Does make you wonder how much of Klopp's exhaustion is rubbing the players up the wrong way, even just in terms of producing consistent performances.
  11. Andoni Iraola achieves Bournemouth's best ever league position in the Premier League his first season, beating Eddie Howe and Gary O'Neil. On top of that he may well finish above Wolves this season. Such a smart decision made by Bournemouth, will be interesting to see how his Bournemouth team develop next season, they play an entertaining brand of football.
  12. That was crazy. They should have a separate VAR for how stupid a decision it was not to give it
  13. Fortunately Raya stayed solid afterwards unlike your man Vicario who let in 2 goals
  14. Haha I was just laying some bait for storts to bite later, how funny would it be now if that Raya mistake means Spurs fight back and win
  15. I didn't think it was a penalty on Kulusevski at first, the contact was soft and it was him tripping over his own foot that causes him to go down. But without that trip, he doesn't do any of it. Don't think it's a clanger not giving it but definitely the wrong decision the more I watch it back.
  16. It must hurt them watching this game, seeing the goalkeeper that they would have had a free run at if they'd just spent £30m and instead they now have to put up with Vicario as Raya slots nicely into Arsenal's dominant defence.
  17. Also, absolute terrible defending from Spurs there. Not sure who it was, Davies? Could see all day Saka wanted to cut in, just force him onto his right, gives the keeper a better ideas as to where the ball goes too
  18. The commentator has just called Saka the local boy, geography not his strong point lol
  19. I think White's probably better defensively, especially seeing that he's a centre back. But for me Porro is so so much better going forward, proper wing back. But I guess it depends what type of football you want to play, if you want a more defensive team then you might go for White. But if you're after attack down the wings it has to be Porro for me.
  20. I guess the thread works better when theres more disagreements
  21. I think if any of your fans wanted him gone at any point they would be delusional. With little investment into the team, the difference he has made compared to how you have played the last two seasons versus this season is immense. To achieve what he has under points deductions, previous managers would have taken you down. I hope he gets a chance long-term to build something with you. He consistently out performed Eddie Howe when they were at Burnley and Bournemouth when taking into account money spent and look what Howe has done at Newcastle. Not to say that Dyche would necessarily be better now, but I hope he gets s chance to spend some cash and build a team.
  22. Just looking forward to next season now, this season has been such a horrible one with the amount of injuries we’ve suffered. Just completely ruined any momentum we had, away form has been terrible, no chance to build on wins, just secure safety and move on. On a separate note I’m looking forward to seeing Schade get a run in next year, if he stays fit he will cause serious problems.
  23. Would like to see us bring on Damsgaard and Schade on, spark our attack into life
