  1. One of the worst calls of the season, just basic common sense needs to be applied. There's no way they'll bring in Tuchel, surely....
  2. There’s a lot wrong behind the scenes and there’s players who clearly don’t want to fight for the club. But I do question why we haven’t seen spells of good football at least. Eddie Howe done it with a leaser team, Iraola with Bournemouth, Frank with Brentford, de Zerbi at Brighton…smaller budgets, players who arent as good, yet they can get their teams to put in great performances even if theyre not always consistent. For me that has to go against him, he’s just given up on the team.
  3. You’d think the evidence that this is a rarity rather than regular occurrence would be enough
  4. A weird game today, two teams in the first half who couldnt get out of first gear. But glad we got the win in the end. Great to see Schade back, he really is good and immediately assists Onyeka who grabs his first goal for us. If we can just roll into these last games now with these players back then the focus can be on just playing free flowing football again rather than just trying to survive. Looking forward to seeing Schade, Toney and Mbeumo up top. Should have seen it a lot more this season and it would have shot us up the table a lot.
  5. Boring game so far, neither side creating anything of note. Final ball not there
  6. Sickening to attack anyone like that but to go for a child, fucking hell. Bondi Junction is such a massive hub too, imagine security will go through the roof from the Junction to the CBD now.
  7. Oh you did, because he was good enough at Leipzig until you signed him. Some players will just take a bit longer to get back to their best after taking a hit to their confidence like that. Some players turn it around a bit quicker, like Havertz for example, another player you destroyed and Mikel Arteta has now got him back to his best. Or Christian Pulisic, another player who struggled at Chelsea and has now gone onto to have a career best season at AC Milan. Chelsea fans spent ages slagging of Jorginho too who has gone onto become pretty integral to an Arsenal team that are chasing the title. Morata another one Chelsea fans jumped on as shit and has managed to score 20 goals in a season for Real Madrid, Juve and Atletico. to It's a consistent theme with Chelsea through the years, whether it's the player you've destroyed recently, the players you are currently destroying (Caicedo for example), or the players you destroyed before that like Lukaku, Salah or KdB. Players aren't completely blameless obviously, but there is a very strong common denominator there. So yeah, Chelsea do ruin players.
  8. I think Werner gets a harsh time and is better than most people give him credit for, but when hes bad hes bad
  9. I have seen a lot of bad defending for Brentford this season, but this is some of the worst of anyone all season from Van de Ven
  10. Was it in the box? Defo a foul but thought they couldnt call it back as a free kick
  11. Vicario’s kicking has been putting Spurs under pressure. Done it for the second goal, nearly conceded a 3rd there
  12. Jesus. Spurs are so fragile defensively when they get put under pressure. What was Porro doing there, what is Van de Ven doing getting sent to the shops so easily. Udogie for the first goal, geezer is a liability defensively. Spurs as a whole are just too predictable going forward, relying on a moment of brilliance in 1v1s, otherwise just pack the middle and they struggle to break teams down.
  13. Coco the clown has come out to play for Spurs today. Just to think if they’d have decided to spend an extra £10m they would have had a free run at the much superior David Raya.
  14. Kevin Schade and Ethan Pinnock to be on the bench tomorrow, massive for us. Toney to start again, Norgaard also getting fit again but not sure if he'll make this week. A potential even for Aaron Hickey to make another appearance this season but who knows there.
  15. Florian Plettenberg has recently suggested that we are open to bids of around £40m for Toney and today Frank has come out and called it cheap, can't say I expected anything less really. The David Raya price tag was around £30m with one year left on his deal, Toney will go for double at least.
  16. I'd be surprised if they let 2/3 of them go...but one could definitely. You'd think Trent would want to stick around to see if he can help push on for silverware, and tbh I'm not sure anyone can actually afford him at this point. Van Dijk and Salah...I feel like Van Dijk would see another season and then probably leave...who knows with Salah
  17. Yeah I meant van Persie. I think there's been a lot of comparison of Klopp leaving Liverpool to United/Ferguson and Arsenal/Wenger but ultimately I don't think the scenarios are the same at all. Ferguson had a team that was beginning to age out and then had to deal with David Moyes who just wasn't equipped to manage players of that caliber. Wenger had already began to drive Arsenal out of the top 4 with a 5th and 6th place finish following a season where they couldn't keep up with Leicester. This Liverpool team are in a title race whilst still being under construction, a lot of youth, players just settling in and still couple of key positions to fill in up front and in midfield. I don't think a new manager will have to do a lot to get the best out of them and they could get even better with a couple of bigger signings in the Summer.
  18. I don't think it's a knee jerk reaction, Gasperini doesn't really get the credit he deserves outside of Italy, three 3rd place finishes in a row, two times runner up in the Coppa Italia. Doesn't really have the budget to compete with the likes of Juve, Inter, Roma, Milan etc but he still manages to in terms of top 4. Initially when I made my post about potential replacements I did think about putting him in, but the list of maybe's generally included people who had won something. It would be a left field appointment but not necessarily a bad one. Only thing I would say and this is why I didn't suggest him is previously Klopp was a very obvious appointment. It didn't take a lot of looking at underlying statistics to realise that appointing the man who broke Bayern's dominance with a low budget and great attacking football was going to be the best decision for Liverpool. I think the club will look for something or someone similar and Gasperini probably won't make it that far. But it wouldn't surprise me if they'd already had a good look at him
  19. I think it also helped that United began the season by signing the Golden Boot winner from the previous season after losing out on a title due to goal difference. Liverpool didn't expect to be competing for the title this season, the signings they made suggested they were building rather than the finished product. I think they've just probably overachieved a bit and don't have the squad to fight on multiple fronts like they've had in previous years.
  20. I don't know why there's a discussion. The curse has been spoken, the deal with the devil made, neither side can now go unbeaten in their remaining games. Congratulations City.
  21. I'm not sure you've really paid attention to our season if you think a lack of Toney alone this season is the reason we're just above relegation zone lol. The below are considered to be players who make our starting eleven when the squad is mostly fit, only Josh Dasilva will float in and out but often the first to get subbed on if he doesn't start. 6 of the below have missed/will miss at least 50% of all Premier League matches this season, the remaining 2/3 have missed 1/3 of the season. We have had the second worst injury record this season behind Newcastle. We have consistently been playing matches with 5 or 6 of our starting eleven missing. Unless you are in the top 6 or top 4, you will be in a relegation battle if you suffer that amount of injuries. Rico Henry: 35 games Aaron Hickey: 30 games Ben Mee: 21 games Ethan Pinnock has missed our last 9 games and seems no closer to fitness. Mikkel Damsgaard: Missed 12 games Josh Dasilva: 35 games Bryan Mbeumo: 13 games Ivan Toney: 19 games Kevin Schade: 27 games If despite all of that you still think we'll get relegated without Toney then fair enough, but when the team has been mostly fit without Toney this season we were mid-table with a couple of games where we dominated but didn't win which showed that we still had gears to step in to. Getting on without Toney will be a new challenge, but we've sold key players before and improved, personally I don't see why we won't do it again.
  22. I mean yeah but the guy gives a good indication of what he looks like if you dont know
