Starbucks is another American consumerism cult like Apple. It doesn't even have good product, everything is reduced down to the cheapest, sweetest essentials. The massala chai is overly sweet and tastes nothing like authentic chai should, pumpkin spice smells like burnt plastic, mocha tastes like out-of-date Hershey's chocolate (some of the worst chocolate I've ever had in my life), all the Teavana teas are mediocre, the matcha has sugar in it, and the espresso machines usually burn the shots. It is a true tragedy especially coming from a city like Brisbane that has 'European-esque' coffee culture. Mainly because Australia didn't create a coffee culture from scratch, it inherited it from Greek and Italian immigrants that already knew their shit. Over time Australian coffee culture grew and they invented awesome drinks like the 'flate white' and the 'long black'. SOME of the coffee roasts are okay but usually they taste no better than a shitty instant coffee you could buy in any other part of the world. Some of the dark roasts are absolutely awful, the Italian tastes burnt and the French roast smells like rotting fish. Pike is incredibly acid for a medium roast and Komodo Dragon is like drinking sulfuric acid. The Christmas Bold is pretty good, Casi Cielo is fantastic and that Hawaiian dark roast is fantastic.

No thanks, I deal with annoying morning people at Starbucks, I don't think I could do the same but with alcohol added. Sports bars are the worst, in fact I hate the entire nightlife culture of South. WHAT KIND OF PUB DOESN'T HAVE POOL TABLES AND DARTS? I make a lot of observations at work, given that it's a customer service job I spend most of my time interacting with people passing through, whether they are one-off customers or regulars. I can comfortably say that white women love frapuccinos and overly sweet shit that would make a normal person's pancreas die from overworking and black people are usually the rudest, most impatient and most entitled customers. Everytime another Starbucks partner from a different store comes in, I usually want to kill them because they order the most retarded drinks with the most alterations. ARRRRGH, WHY DO PEOPLE NEED A VENTI, TWELVE PUMP CHAI, WITH NOT WATER, EXTRA HOT, NO FOAM, COCONUT MILK, TWO PUMPS OF WHITE MOCHA, UPSIDE FUCKING DOWN?

You're probably right but I desperately don't want to commute to Atlanta from Lawrenceville. Hell hath no fury like a Atlantan highway.

I'm fine with it (I chose to be an immigrant, I can accept the repercussions) as long as no-one claims that I have white-privilege.

As an idiot on Twitter would say: 'It's a doggy dog world'. Took me over a year to get an interview in the States because I'm foreign.
  6. I think the kid he talks about being held back two years is Dani Carvajal.

I think it may of been a stretch but they mentioned something about 'case' being a tern to refers to the huts that blacks would live in.

@Batard So being the resident Francophone, I've a question for you. Someone (a Frenchie) once mentioned that Lacazette's name can be roughly translated as 'the little hut' (with racial connotations). Not that it's the exact wording contracted by phonetically exactly the same.
  10. One of my friends looks like Franco. Well, more Dave than James.
  11. Deadpool A very entertaining action film that subverts a lot of typical superhero cliches. Ryan Reynolds stars in the first film that I didn't make me want to punch his face. I was kind apprehensive because I was worried Hollywood may have bastardised and missed the point of Deadpool's character but I was wrong, the writers and Reynolds bloody nailed it. The superhero genre has been wank for years now but Deadpool has breathed a little fresh air.
  12. Video technology ruined rugby league.
  13. You'd be over the moon and running out to purchase a brand spanking new 'Jelavic 9' kit.
  14. PSG's first result was a fluke, this was not.
  15. So out of curiosity, does Liverpool (and Everton) bring a lot of international tourism to Liverpool? An English (Bournemouth) friend of mine said that Liverpool really isn't as bad as it's reputation holds it up to be. I imagine that if it did bring tourism an extra 15k would only be good for the city at least.
  16. Does stadium size really have that much influence on a club? I'd a thought the money from Sky/whatever other sponsors would dwarf ticketing.

You remind me of Davide Santon if that is you on the right (what happened to him?). Who is the other bloke?
  18. The 6-1 victory is so blown out of proportion. Oooooh, the most stacked team in the world with the absolute two best forwards in the world and another top five forward beat PSG. Gimme a break.

He got the death penalty in '94. Lethal injection, not as fun as how the French did it.

Yeah, I imagine he feels the same way now. I wouldn't ask him about it but I imagine he was so shaken up by the event he just wanted to forget about it. I don't think at the time he realised how dangerous the situation was. It's always easy to look back in retrospective but I couldn't imagine going through that at 15. I dunno about the situation, maybe they did report assualt but couldn't get the case to move any further.

His schtick was teenaged boys. 14-18, he would rape and murder them. Usually kids that he worked with or at least somewhat knew.
