  1. And the fact that they already sponsor Stuttgart.
  2. I received word from my employer that effective June 2 that those vaccinated no longer have to wear masks in the workplace. That coincides with the state of Ohio removing the mask mandate. Individual businesses may decide to continue to enforce masks but it is no longer required by the government. I have had my vaccination since mid-April but I know that the rollout in the USA has been much quicker than in other places.

Anyone listen to new Gojira album? So far my favorite track is Into the Storm. The drumming on that song is unreal.
  4. Really a shame watching Baumann flounder. I remember watching him play and admiring his presence on the pitch. Now his legacy is being tarnished by the failures in management.
  5. Any of those leaving out of contract or just likely to be sold? Don't think Pavlenka will have a hard time finding a new club. I'm always torn between keeping good players for a promotion push but then I remember these same got you relegated!
  6. I thought he just joined NY Red Bulls in MLS a few months ago. Is he gone already?
  7. Seemed to be frozen out at Mainz ever since Svensson took over. Scored a wonder goal earlier this season but otherwise blah this year.
  8. For the fans in the US, ESPN has just announced broadcasting rights for La Liga Primera and Segunda for the next several years. Every Primera league match will be shown on ESPN+. Great news for those of us who could give a fuck less about watching Barcelona and the Madrids every week. Starts in August 2021.
  9. I get your point, but the same could be said for the Bremen team. If he couldn't turn around Hertha (with loads of top dollar players) then I'm not sure he could turn around Bremen either. They're both equally in the scheiße at the moment.
  10. What's the obsession with Labbadia? He was awful at Hertha. Just curious.
  11. Rumor that Sarri will take over at Roma at the end of the season. Their European chances are slim right now.
  12. I listened to a podcast this morning that discussed Kohfeldt and the general consensus was that he's been let down by the players and by Frank Baumann. I think defensively they've had a few bad games but you're going to concede goals when you concede possession and try to defend for 90 minutes. A coach can only do so much with the players he's been given and as I mentioned earlier in the thread above there doesn't seem to be any real attacking class in this squad. There are a lot of players who work hard on the pitch but there isn't enough footballing quality there. Who do you give the ball to when you need to make something happen? I don't think you can blame Kohfeldt for that at all.
  13. I hate to say it but Bremen look like Schalke right now. Inept on the pitch, no new ideas, and no real impact players that can turn the game. After watching Koeln on Friday and seeing them playing much better it's becoming a serious worry.
  14. Anyone heard of DInkelacker from Stuttgart? They had a 6-pack Pils in my international market over the weekend. Didn't get it because my cart was already full but I'll be going back for it.
  15. Watching that game last night against Mainz, it's hard to see where Bremen are going to get the goals to pull away from the relegation zone. I'm not saying they'll go down... I still think Hertha and Koeln are inept enough to be favorites. When Bremen brought on Selke for Fullkrug I just rolled my eyes. It's not like there were any other options, but wow. I've watched a lot of Bremen matches this season and Selke isn't the answer to any question related to scoring goals.
  16. Rostock had some fans at a match a few weeks ago. There may have been others. Was that a regional decision to allow that?
  17. I've just been reliably informed by Twitter that Friday is German Beer Day.
  18. Firewall at work blocks that site.
  19. I had the Vitus weizenbock over the weekend and thought it was very good. I've found most Weihenstephaner beers to have hints of banana, which can be refreshing. 7.7% ABV but it isn't overpowering at all. Not sure how to upload pics or I'd attach.
  20. Ha, I tried them last time I was there but I wasn't impressed. It's still beer, although I think @Rucksackfranzose blasted me for using that designation earlier.
  21. I stopped by my international market over the weekend looking for something different. Unfortunately, I could find on the shelf were Bavarian beers and a couple Koelsch beers. I ended up with Ayinger Urweisse and Weihenstephaner Vitus. Will post more when I've cracked them open.
  22. Is this the end of Hansi Flick at Bayern? My gut feeling is he's going to the national team. He seems really unhappy with the recruitment at Bayern and his fallout with Salihamidzic has been public knowledge for months now. Edited to say, I really like Hansi as a coach, and he seems like a nice guy. Doesn't seem to fit in with the arrogance of some past and present Bayern personnel.
  23. Leeds and Bayern...oof. Best look into 1975. One of the biggest reasons I don't like Bayern.
