  1. Pole Position - Which driver will post the fastest lap in Q3?

    VER

Podium - Which drivers will finish the Grand Prix in the top three positions?

    1. VER

    2. HAM

    3. NOR

Random Driver - Predict the finishing position of this week's random driver, Alexander Albon.

    P11

Bonus Question - The last race before the summer break can often be pivotal for under-pressure F1 drivers. Your job this weekend is to choose which driver is going to have the worst weekend overall. The scoring will be a bit different for this week's Bonus Question. You will receive points for each of the following things that happen to your chosen driver:

Qualifies behind team-mate for Grand Prix (1 point).

Qualifies behind team-mate for Sprint (1 point).

Beaten by team-mate in Sprint (1 point).

Fails to finish Sprint (2 points).

Beaten by team-mate in Grand Prix (1 point).

Fails to finish Grand Prix (2 points).

Causes a red flag/virtual safety car/full safety car in any session (1 point each time).

A DNF will score you the 2 points but you won't get an additional point in this instance for also getting "beaten" by their team-mate. The "causing red flag/SC/VSC" one will be awarded even if it's a mechanical issue i.e. not their fault. However, if Driver A gets wiped out by Driver B in an incident that is clear Driver B's fault, causing a safety car, Driver A will not count as having caused the safety car.

A billion in fee and wages for one season. Fucking hell.

I do wonder what the endgame is with all of this. Do the Saudis just have so much money that they're trying to get rid of it? Or is there an actual plan, e.g. to eventually turn the Saudi League into the Super League that the 12 European clubs tried and failed to create? They don't have FFP to contend with. It's not inconceivable that the big money backers of various football clubs might see Saudi start to attract names like Ronaldo and Mbappe to that League, see the lack of FFP and the chance to compete in a true billionaire's playground and just go for it.

Hope it happens. I truly hope it does. All the glory hunting player supporting Twitter twats can fuck off and maybe, just maybe we can save whatever is left of the game.

Bonus Question - Daniel Ricciardo returns to F1 with Alpha Tauri this weekend. Your job is to predict which Alpha Tauri driver will out-qualify the other, and the gap between their best times (E.G. Ricciardo by 0.2s). 5 points for anyone who gets within 0.1s of the actual gap. If nobody manages this then it's 2 points to whoever gets closest.

Absolutely! fire away! Did you guys get to anywhere else as well or just a short Milan trip?

Lake Como looked beautiful and I saw it highly recommended basically everywhere. We're sitting down this weekend to start booking things and will narrow down a few day trips. Florence and the Coast we have a few things in mind but like Rome or Milan we haven't looked into anything yet so its very possible maybe we take 1 of the 3 days in Milan and do that but we'll see. The one thing about Lake Como and up north in general is it reminded us of our scenary here. Not saying thats a bad thing but we figured if push comes to shove Sicily would be a little more unique. The better half was pretty set on going to Sicily if it was possible. She wanted to see Mount Etna and Catania and Taormina specifically, I tossed in Palermo for my 2 cents. So 1 day in Palermo, 1 in Catania and I figure we can do Taormina and Mount Etna in a day. Originally we were looking at taking a train from the north to the coast at some point but adding in Sicily will save us from taking one long train ride as well, basically its an hour flight to most of the airports from what I saw.

Como is pretty boring compared to Lake Garda imho having been to both. The towns/villages on the lake are all so massively different but amazing in their own way, especially Bardalino and Garda itself. Limone and Malcesine also worth a visit!

Get the galleries booked for Florence as they sell out on certain days really quickly.

Ahahaha. Hah, fuck mate it doesn’t exist. That country is half parking lot, there is probably more bitumen for parking on the square metre than the entirety of Britain and Ireland has land.  Philadelphia has eight car parks per person.

Maybe in NYC and parts of the SF bay area, but everywhere else I've been the mass transit might as well be non-existent.

Well NYC, SF, Atlanta, Vegas, Phoenix, Boston are the main cities I’ve visited and travel has been every easy tbf.

  6. 49 minutes ago, Spike said:

At least you have trains. It takes an hour plus to get from the fucking Chicago suburbs to the city proper on their pre-fucking-industrial trains.

Always thought mass transit was meant to be good in the US?

    • Haha 1
  7. @Spikeseriously though, that’s the authentic experience. Train travel is fucking awful in the UK, and I do mean awful. It shouldn’t take 2 hours for a train to travel that distance either but the Pennines fuck everything up. However, we’re spending £2billion to shave off 15 mins from Birmingham to Euston so there’s always that…..

@DeadLinesman Easily the worst train I’ve been on. Two canceled, three carriages instead of six, and someone fucking died or had a medical incident on another carriage in Dewsberry or whatever it’s called. I had to stand holding luggage for two people, had commuters up my arse, the mrs looks like she is going to chunder from motion sickness, and four codgers are sitting pretty on their little table talking shit about the Australian cricket team.

    Good.

I was deliberating creating a new thread as Matt isnt in a million years worth being remotely associated with the people that have been bought up in this thread previously, that never should have been given the opportunity to become Police Officers.

I knew Matt personally for five years and (unfortunately you reflect on things like this when someone passes away) I feel privileged to have called him a friend. And this news feels a bigger relief than I anticipated.

When someone passes you always hear the best stories about someone, but with Matt every good story you heard was absolutely true. I dont think ill ever meet someone that takes so much pride over seeing other people develop again.

Terrible news mate, hadn’t even heard of this. If only he’d been a scumbag, maybe the press would have picked up on it a bit more.

I don't get the Radcliff hate.  it seems to be related to allowing the glazers to maintain minority share but nothing to do with the model he wants to adopt.

the sad thing is this should have been sorted months ago and it puts man United on the back foot this summer.  they are losing out on targets made even worse by Saudi clubs flashing the cash.

70% of ST polled from MUST and UWS voted in favour of Ratcliffe. Twitter is against this because it’s a bunch of glory hunting Fifa bumming melts that have zero association with the club and want type mBBapPe sUIiiiii to get some reactions.

Ratcliffe proposed Glazers stay as minority shareholders with guaranteed stock sale in 2 years at a fixed price. They’d be fucked off either way. Your average Twitter Bellend doesn’t get this though.

If this Jassim is just a private individual are you going to stop supporting your club?  I could understand your choice if it turns out to be another front like PSG and they then try to infect the FA by putting there own people in positions to manipulate league rules etc,  however if it is just Jassim as a sole owner then surely you wont.

He’s a private individual with £1.5billion in the bank. How’s he affording it? Twitter melts angry that Radcliffe will borrow against Ineos and not take the club immediately out of debt. How’s Sheikh Jassim making us debt free and taking over with £500million? Let’s not kid ourselves. This is a state puppet backed by state banks.

Mad how we all hyped him as the next big thing. He did look like he was starting to find his place at United though?

No. He’s been awful, and I mean awful. Can’t take a man on, can’t pass more than 5 yards, can’t cross a ball, looks like he’s running in mud. Genuinely don’t know what happened when he left Dortmund but he’s been gash.

Bonus Question - The driver pairings at Ferrari, Mercedes, Alpine and Alfa Romeo are the most closely matched so far this season, with each of these battles standing at 4-3 to one driver or another. Choose one of Leclerc, Sainz, Hamilton, Russell, Ocon, Gasly, Bottas or Zhou to out-qualify their team-mate this weekend.
