Oh yeah, but I think Keane is total crap all of the time tbh - so I guess I revise my statement, it’s not so bad until Keane & the central midfield. Keane is why I think clubs shouldn’t sign defenders from Burnley tbh

Yeah he was sort of a weird one to watch this season because I literally had no idea how good he was. Looked pretty decent when we gave the kids a run out though, but he was one of the older members of the squad. Thought he looked decent, but he didn’t really have a pathway into the first team. He was behind Lallana, who I think might have been behind Grujic if Grujic wasn’t out on loan this season (also with covid fucking our finances, he might be returning to us). Good luck to the lad

My wife got me Animal Crossing because she needed to be friends with someone who has cherries native to their island. So I had to keep restarting until I got cherries. I have no idea really what the point of this game is, but it’s weirdly relaxing.

That doesn’t look so bad until you get to the central midfield

Nah it was religious weirdos for the most part
-
America was literally founded by the religious weirdos we didn't like having in the UK. It shouldn't be surprising the same kind of idiots exist in both nations.

Sounds like the quarantine time's been good for him in terms of his career. Given some time away from football to learn the language better and be better suited for a more physical league.

It's just a friendly... and it's against Blackburn and they're pretty shite now I think... but it looks like Minamino was heavily involved in the first half. Apparently he's been working on improving his English over the lockdown, I wonder if he'll appear to be closer to the player we looked like we signed now that he can communicate better with his teammates. Hard to really say though from a friendly against weaker opposition... that I didn't even watch Hope he does well though, imo in those matches against RB Salzburg he was their standout player... even more than Haaland and his ridiculous number of goals. I would love for him to be as influential for us as he was for Salzburg in those two matches.

Yeah the guys a prick for sure. “Boohoo, I couldn’t beat a bunch of kids. Klopp is mean and took money from me.“

The chorus of Nirvana’s “In Bloom” covers people like that pretty well.

I think them reuniting for some shows and a brief tour isn’t really them coming back together as a band though tbh. But yeah, I see your point with Coachella. I think most artists playing there would probably politically be against said groups so it’s sort of a hypocrisy with all the artists. Tbh that sort of corporate dealing that RATM has had to do to get their music onto a popular label and playing at big shows has always been a spot of hypocrisy when you consider the lyrical content.
-
I was surprised that it was still so relevant... but then I remember there’s a few songs from the flower power age that are still relevant so it probably says more about the people in power and human nature.
-
RATM does? That’s weird, why is a band getting paid by a homophobic group? Especially a band that’s been broken up for years

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8381091/Mexico-border-town-Tijuana-ranked-dangerous-city-world-2019.html A bit worrying as pre-COVID I would go there all the time... but honestly, I've never felt unsafe there.

Not even close to working hard

With California reopening I've got to be in the office on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Seems far too early for me to be back here, considering we've had something like 150 new cases yesterday. So if I get COVID... I'm going to blame my employer. Pretty unhappy to be back here tbh.

Yeah and that’s a fair point about his letters to Hitler, he was definitely the bigger man. Plus Hitler can’t have been that friendly with him as he encouraged the UK to have Gandhi shot... And yeah, looking back at history with modern lenses can make a lot of people look bad. But I see no issue with statues of Gandhi or Churchill, whereas I can understand why people tore down the statue of a slaver. Churchill’s legacy to the UK goes beyond him being racist (like everyone was back then) and a warmonger - he led this country through a war where if we lost British society as we know it wouldn’t exist. Likewise, looking back on Gandhi night show us a guy who hated black people and went to weird lengths to show he was “resisting temptation” - but his legacy as a symbol for independence against imperialism and peaceful protest/civil disobedience is a far more lasting mark he left on India (and the world tbh). These things make these men more iconic figures in history worthy of recognition than a man who’s legacy was of a murderer and a slave owner. That was Edward Colston’s most notable contribution to the UK and the world - it’s not an endearing contribution worthy of recognising in the UK after the abolishment of slavery. So it’s got no reason standing in 2020. I could argue the proper place for it though was a museum, not at the bottom of a harbour... but it’s a bit late for that unless they go dig it out.

The pedo thing is based on Gandhi himself writing that he slept with children. That one isn’t really disputable. Same with his thoughts on black people. The Hitler thing I guess depends on how you want to take the context of his 2 letters to Hitler. But they’re weirdly friendly letters to a man who was a murderous fuckhead. This one is more disputable. I think on the whole Gandhi’s legacy as a positive figure in history is well deserved. But I also think if we took a time machine and went back to meet him, we’d probably find some aspects of his life morally reprehensible. Same with Churchill - I think we’d all be speaking German and have no Jews in the UK if not for Hitler... but if we went back to meet him we’d think he’s a total cunt. I think we’d think most people from back then are total cunts tbh

Well before Churchill we had Chamberlain who was an utter coward and under him Hitler was given a head start on fucking up Europe and murdering more Jews, Gypsies, gay people, and others. Had the UK listened to Churchill earlier, chances are Hitler would have had a tougher time rampaging through Europe. Perhaps World War 2 would have been shorter and less deadly. He was also pretty instrumental in getting American help to the UK and USSR before Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. The lend lease act kept us in the war and was a big part in keeping is in the fight before the Americans joined. Lastly, it is a bit moronic to judge historical figures with the same societal standards we have today. In the 1930s and 1940s, pretty much everyone was a fucking racist by our standards. If we’re going to look back at people with modern day lenses constantly then Gandhi’s legacy is 100% in trouble, along with Churchill’s. Because Gandhi would definitely not fall into the black lives matter camp - he hated black people. He actually quite liked Adolf Hitler.... and he was a pedophile.

Tbh Lallana's now just a bit part player for us and it's been confirmed he's on his way out. For his very limited role in our squad currently, I'm perfectly fine with giving Curtis Jones his role in the squad. Shaqiri's someone where if we're not getting a replacement in, we've got to keep him - I think he'd have more appearances for us this season if not for constant injury issues. But we're light on depth in attack and also he's one of our better players in the central attacking midfield role when the rare times we've gone with a 4-2-3-1; I know Newcastle are supposedly interested if they end up getting bought by Mr. Bone Saw... but without a replacement we can't afford to sell him. Honestly, the two signings I'd hope we'd be interested in making is a CB to push Gomez/Matip (who I think are both very good, if not injury prone) - and selling Lovren. Lovren's not bad as a 4th choice CB in most situations... but he's still too error prone if he's got to fill in for a long period of games for playing at a level where you've got to be close to perfect to compete for the league. And Origi's literally a legend with us and if he's happy to stay with us, I'm happy to have him. His 3 shots in our CL victory leading to 3 goals and his record against Everton make him a worthwhile player to keep around, 100% a cult hero. But I also think we need a better attacking option as a backup for Firmino/Mane (or Salah as well) - because Origi's been used on the left and in the centre of our front 3). I think that's especially important when we lose Salah and Mane to AFCON mid-season again.

Yeah it's a British bank, but it mostly does business in Asia & Africa.
-
RATM songs really capture the zeitgeist of the US right now
-
How’s that not talking facts? Klopp explained why we can’t afford big signings, and I’m explaining why I think that’s probably not great for us on the pitch.
-
What club has sustained success over a period of years with no rejuvenation?
-
We’re going to lose revenue from COVID but we should still have some money for signings. Now all our journos who are reliable are saying there’s no plan to sign anyone unless we can sell off fringe players. Pretty shit for a side that barely spent anything last year & has been doing well on the pitch.
