  1. Chelsea are a weird side and I wouldn't be surprised to see them win this, even though on form... I probably wouldn't expect them to. They're just such an unpredictable side. But if we have Mo and/or Darwin fit enough to start and play around 90 minutes, I feel a lot more confident.
  2. He's talked about the "project" (the new stadium) being a "catalyst for regeneration" of the area - but the conversation he's talking about having had is taxpayer money building his new stadium, not the rejuvenation of a rundown area. Although tbf, getting taxpayers to bankroll billionaires might be the only way to realistically get the clowns in parliament to give a fuck about putting money back into communities in the north.
  3. Idk if there's an eyeroll emoji or not, so just pretend my eyes are rolling around in my head at this. But that's very much ignoring that: But yes, boo hoo United are being shat upon for no good reason - has nothing to do with a billionaire proposing he get a handout from a country he's from that doesn't pay taxes in, in an attempt to be more like American owners that time and time again fuck over their matchgoing fans in the name of chasing cash. I'm sure as he begs for money, he'll make the argument that if the city doesn't fund the stadium he'll have to make ticket prices skyrocket - it'll get fans more onboard. And then I'm sure he'll do the typical thing people do when they get a stadium built for them with taxpayer funds and increase the prices by a lot anyway. Like I said, he owns the club - but he works for fans of the club, the fans would do well to remind him of that. I shouldn't care if United fans get fucked over by their owner, I should think it's funny because... I'm a Liverpool fan. Instead, I'm against it because if shit like this can creep into a club like Man Utd, it can creep into any club in England. City and West Ham are also run by some pretty disgraceful people, United fans should be holding their owners to a higher standard than them.
  4. Sentences for crimes that I think are very serious often have me confused when they don't seem to match the crime. I'm sure 4 years is a long time in prison, but doesn't seem very long to keep a rapist locked up - does it?
  5. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68361025 "It's about time someone built a national stadium in the north of England," said the British billionaire. Ratcliffe added the potential project could be a "catalyst for regeneration" in south Manchester and would therefore warrant a "conversation" with the government about using taxpayers' money. In his first broadcast interview, with BBC sports editor Dan Roan, since completing his deal to buy 27.7% of the club, Ratcliffe added: "If it can be achieved, it would clearly be my preference. It might "warrant a conversation" - but that conversation should be "fuck off, you're a billionaire living in Monaco not paying British taxes - you pay for your own stadium."
  6. Realistically, no billionaires should be struggling to put up a new stadium, regardless of how expensive it is. But @The Palace Fan is right that it's popular among US ownership of professional teams to ask cities to foot the bill for a new stadium. San Diego lost its NFL team because they told the billionaire asking for handouts to pay their own money if they wanted to stay in the city. Oakland's losing its baseball team for the same reason (although with teams moving to Vegas, they're thinking about tourism revenue at matches more than giving a fuck about having a solid home crowd imo). I think Kroenke's NFL team, the LA Rams, did foot the bill when they built the new stadium in LA (that they share with the side that used to be from San Diego, and charge them rent for using that stadium) - but he did fuck over the existing fans of the team when he moved them over several states to California. I don't think it's just that people love a story about United and run away with it - I think its concerning to see massive football clubs start acting with the entitlement of American billionaire team owners and start asking for handouts from the government. This "business first" approach to sports invading football is going to be concerning, because in US sports imo the local fans are truly an afterthought in most situations. Man Utd's a massive club, them taking this route is a slippery slope for modern football... and a decent amount of football fans are already turned off massively by how the game has changed. I think more than anyone else, Man Utd fans, should be vocal about telling Ratcliffe to fuck off with this asking for a handout shite. It's not a good sign of his plans for his overall respect of the United fans that matter most, the lifelong fans that care more about the club than anyone on the planet. It's like when FSG tried to copyright the liverbird - they were rightly slated for trying to claim ownership of a symbol of the city of Liverpool that had belonged to the city far before it ever had any association with FSG & backed down. Ratcliffe's a part owner of the club now - but he works for the United fans now - taking actions that demonstrate the fans are secondary is something that should 100000% be something that irritates the hell out of every United fan in the world.
  7. Kind of immediately became canon as soon as the people who own the IP wrote the stories and made the games though? Not really the case with the mods though - that's more just fan-fiction. When Bethesda (who are located in Bethesda, Maryland) bought the franchise it was no longer the same development team - but a lot of the spirit of the original games is there & I think the devs wanted to work with the world that was closer to home (Bethesda happens to be right by Washington D.C.) - similar to what the original Fallout developers did in building out the wasteland's California (and what they returned to when given the opportunity to make New Vegas - again, not too far from California). There's generally not a lot of lore regarding Europe or the UK in the Fallout series other than mentioning that Europe was devastated by the "Resource Wars" & the UK just has brief mentions in some of the games - I think most notably Far Harbor has someone that fled the UK's wasteland to cross the Atlantic, and in Fallout 3 I think there's a holotape about someone who leaves the DC area to seek their fortune in the UK. I guess I'm just not really that into fan fiction. So this mod isn't really for me. Hopefully it's good though and the mod team gets rewarded with some jobs in the industry - the industry needs more passionate developers imo.
  8. I like to think it was "for every goal you score, Pep loses another hair off his body"
  9. I really want to know what Klopp said to the players at half time
  10. I suspect Trent's not going to be fit for the final if Bradley's coming off considering his performance tonight.
  11. Maybe get the club to hire a witch doctor or something. Our final ball's been awful today. Probably to be expected with Salah, Jota, and Nunez not playing but fuck me... I like Elliott when he comes off the bench but usually when he starts for us he's not really up to much - but he's been lively today.
  12. Also, just for the record I don't think that - I've even said (before kickoff even) that Luton have shown more fight and spirit than most every club we've faced this season. Me joking about wanting a club relegated because whenever we go to their ground we have at least 1-2 injuries doesn't have a fucking thing to do with me wanting clubs to roll over against us...
  13. I'm not that serious and I don't actually hate them There's only 4 clubs I genuinely hate in the UK. One's you, one's Man Utd, the others are oily.
  14. Salah too I think. And yeah the challenges weren't bad, but playing at your ground is bad bad bad luck for us injury wise... so it's safer from our perspective if you get relegated
  15. It might be overly harsh, because I think he's quite good for a keeper of his age and limited experience... but yeah, it definitely is moments that would cost us - the dropoff between our world class keeper and our promising young keeper is massive. But it might be overly harsh because I think you take any other keeper in the league and put them in place of Alisson and they'll likely let us down as much, if not moreso, than Kelleher.
  16. Injuring 4 of our players and then not even taking a point from City, unforgiveable.
  17. I don't know what the odds of Brentford going down are, but I hope they go down with the 2 utterly shite sides that were promoted.
  18. Luton are weirdly not absolute dogshit like the other 2 promoted teams, so I think they've always got a chance against anybody. They've already played better against us than most other opponents we've faced in the league too. But certainly against a side weakened by injury that's got another eye on an upcoming final will they have a chance.
  19. Alisson, Jones, and Jota (who was our most in form player at the moment) all won't be fit for the final. I think Nunez and Salah are being rested ahead of the final and they'll probably be fit - but other than them out of our recent injuries, I don't think most of them will make it. Certainly not Trent and I doubt Szobo will either.
