That sucks. And it's not that it took me forever to get an interview, but the 5 interviews I had, lasting over an hour each, plus personality tests, were just time consuming.

Yeah - that's likely what I will do. However, the amount of time and energy I put in for this just seems somewhat wasted at the moment. I know the Cisco (the company I interviewed with) took a lot of time picking the right candidate, so no hard feelings, but it's never a great feeling when you are initial 2nd best.

    Work/Jobs Thread

Well, it's official - I did not get the job. I've been at the same job (Industrial Engineer for the SE Region), for about 6 years now. I've known for some time that it's not exactly what I want to do forever, but as the time goes by, and the pay increases, it's been harder to look elsewhere. Thought I found a sweet gig, applied, got a couple of interviews, and got great reviews from the people there I spoke to. Found out today that I didn't get it. So, like I usually do, I set myself a 90 minute timer to feel like shit, but once that 90 minutes are up, I have to pick myself up and continue on the search. I've got 84 minutes to go...

    Off Topic

Well - had a strong feeling that I was going to be getting a new job, after a couple of interviews. Job would have made some things in life a lot easier (or so I think), and so finding out today that the company went a different route hurts, I guess it's positive in the fact they let me know they will be hiring another person in the next month. Maybe because of the weather here today, but this feels like a big blow.

You still attract some real talent: David Villa, Kaka, Dempsey, Altidore... and you have pride. Just seen that Atlanta have Kenwyne Jones in their ranks, again very respectable. And MLS has a big fanbase. It all adds up but again a shame about the lack of huge competitions.

Correct - Kaka and Jones are both way on the decline. Villa as well after this serious injury years ago. The day we can get elite talent in their prime will be the day the MLS really steps up to the plate.

Very true. I hope it's soon.

  9. For Daddy Dick. @Dickie
  10. Cheers - I assumed with the rainbow flag that it had to do with homosexuality. But maybe that's just an American thing.
  11. Mind giving the Non-Europeans in the room and idea of the photo and what it represents?
  12. I have a strong feeling @Tsubasa knows exactly as he just posted how badly he wants a European Union Flag
  13. Atlanta United 6- 1 Minnesota United. So many records were broke, including largest win by an expansion team. Sorry Minn, but WE ARE THE TRUE UNITED

That's awful. Just seen you have Tyrone Mears in your ranks. Decent defender. I vaguely recognise one of their players. And it snowed too. If only we had snow...

Regardless I hope you win the MLS and best of luck. B|

Only one team, Seattle Sounders, has made the playoffs the first year as an Expansion team. That would be a great year if we were able to get in.

  14. Sinus issues going on here. Have to help a buddy move which means I'll be missing the Gladbach match. He's a follow ATL UTD ST holder therefore I doubt we'll go into that match. Just had another conversation with Cisco, it's looking more and more likely I'll be having a new job in a matter of months.
  15. Alabama basketball currently in the QF's of the SEC tournament. Win here would be huge. Roll Tide
  16. What the hell? WWII bombs and awe wielding man men...Dusseldorf has been an eventful city as of late.

    Game Of Thrones

A certain main character that isn't as dead as we thought. Thought doing that scene would have been a great season finale.

    Game Of Thrones

Anyone that has read the books realize that a certain cliffhanger in the books, was blatantly absent from the show?
  19. Kudos to you sir. I'm 31 and I cried at Normandy. Just couldn't take all the historical significance of that beach and hold my emotions in check.
  20. Kudos - I've been to Auschwitz and it broke my heart. Also visited Normandy which again, broke my heart. I'm not Jewish, but the whole idea to people our age seems almost 'unreal'. No need to feel bad about it though for you
  21. I'll donate annually if needed. - May seem weird or silly to you Europeans, but I have been on TFF and here for so many years, you have no idea how much I enjoy this. (For those that don't know, I was at once known as tide. )
  22. Don't answer if you find this insensitive or don't want to answer. But you are literally from a country that had the more evil military force of all time, so how do you feel about it as a German, and out of curiosity, did you have any family members part of Nazi Party? I had a lot of family fighting for the 'South' in the Civil War, so while I by no means agree, thinks it's interesting.
  23. Hold on Cowboy! Jesus, that's insane. I love Germany (as I'm sure you know), and want to move there. I appreciate what that country seems to stand for, but I just assumed all thought of WW2 and bombs were swept under the rug . Glad you're okay
