  1. TABLE AFTER BONUS QUESTIONS Here comes the conclusion to see if anyone's pre-tournament wisdom pays off! And it certainly did for @Michael! He outscored the regular league-leader by 6 points and therefore jumps up into 1st place on 161 points! @JoshBRFC also outscored him, and the tie-breaker of Most Perfect Scores throughout the tournament meant that he also finished ahead of @Viva la FCB. @Bluewolf was perhaps the most wise, so to speak, as his predictions amassed 79 points and he flew into 5th from 19th place. Also gaining several places was @Spike, who went up to 7th, and interestingly was the only one to bag 15 extra points for predicting Spain to win the tournament, as well as being the only one to choose Bellingham as top scorer, who ultimately finished joint-2nd. @Coma was the only one to score 60+ points from the pre-tournament predictions in the bottom half of the table. Congratulations again to @Viva la FCB for the tournament predictions win, and again to @Michael for doing enough during the season to be in with a chance to finish 1st once these bonus questions were tallied up, and it paid off! Thank you everyone for taking part For reference, there were several 'joint' goalscorers for 1st/2nd/3rd in the actual tournament - we only had predictions of Kane/Mbappe/Lukaku/Bellingham/Havertz. Kane was top scorer with 3 goals; Bellingham & Havertz with 2; Mbappe with 1 Top Goalscorer 15 points if player finishes 1st - KANE 10 if player finishes 2nd - BELLINGHAM/HAVERTZ 5 if player finishes 3rd - MBAPPE Tournament Winner 15 points if team wins - SPAIN 10 if team finishes 2nd - ENGLAND 5 if team finishes 3rd - NETHERLANDS/FRANCE
  2. TABLE AFTER ROUND 7 After one final game in which Spain deservedly finished winners, we also have our own deserving winner from the regular standings before the Bonus Questions are taken into account... Congratulations to @Viva la FCB for his victory in the Euro 2024 Prediction League. Having led the way since the group stages, he could not be toppled, and finished in style with a perfect score to cement the lead. 8 points was the highest score achievable - @Michael, @OrangeKhrush, @CaaC (John), @Rucksackfranzose & @Bluebird Hewitt were the only others to correctly guess Spain's 2-1 scoreline over England. It meant there was only 1 point between 3rd and 7th, and a small gap of 5 points between 8th and 17th! Bonus Questions to be calculated in due course...
  3. For what I've been able to watch I'm impressed with how much intensity has been shown by both teams. It's breathless just watching it. And has Martinez got the winner?
  4. Agree with all of your post apart from this bit. Surely the worst case would be going out at the group stage, not getting to the final and losing? Agree of course majority of the performances were poor. I don't think Southgate stays.
  5. Rodri or Yamal. Guehi has impressed too considering it was his first national tournament, and in a very lacklustre side.
  6. At this rate buy a pint and have no change left.
  7. My bet for Alcaraz to win Wimbledon and Spain to win Euros came in then at 16/1. Silver linings.
  8. Fair. Expected more given the hype. Had some big moments but not consistent performances.
  9. Literally 90% of the problem here yet he was persisted with for so long. Even when we were attacking he was flagging on edge of the box because he's burnt himself out running deep. He's not the right striker for this system because we don't have the central midfield runners in behind if Kane does drop deep. As soon as Watkins came on their defenders were actually occupied deeper and gave space for Palmer and Bellingham to profit from.
  10. Get Kane out the squad and we'll start winning trophies too
  11. As said before the match, Spain would have been and are deserving winners. Class all tournament.
  12. We're much better without Kane. Spain cut through easily there. Yamal should score.
  13. Positive sub to be fair. Instant impact. Much more forward now.
  14. Will open up even more now. Trouble being that Spain are so efficiently organised they'll be the ones that will profit...
  15. Game opening up slightly. That turn from Bellingham was bliss. Watkins offers so much more than Kane.
  16. Rice has had a poor game. Given the ball away too many times.
  17. Walker had no idea where Williams was. Shaw had no idea where Yamal was.
