  1. And Modric has now scored!!! Donnarumma saves from a header but Modric gets a rebound in. 1-0 to Croatia.
  2. That's handball from Frattesi. Should be a penalty.
  3. Yes, they were abysmal this tournament and I agree with this point about lack of shots on target. And that's not just for this game, but the previous two. I'm saying they lost because they had to go all out to win because a) they were shit enough to let it get to that stage and b) they missed their opportunity in those final moments and had to throw so many bodies forward. As for the final point, no win is ever guaranteed for a superior opponent. We saw that with Slovakia vs Belgium... Yes there bloody well is . Germany are far superior. You said it was a 'great result'. I argued it wasn't. Precisely because of this exact scenario. And now we're going round in circles
  4. I get Discovery+ through Sky, so I can watch all the TNT stuff on my phone. Got a very good deal on Sky TV & Internet - there's good value there if you look for it and push for it. Premier Sports I just pay for each month whenever it's worth it. Costly for a whole year so might as well just pay for what I want to watch.
  5. Amazing save by Livakovic from Bastoni's powerful header.
  6. Because I'm talking about going into the third game following the 2nd game. It's pretty damn obvious winning any game puts you in a better position for the next one. There's also obviously more chance they get a result against Switzerland than against a Germany side. But you're doing what Michael did yesterday - missing my point about the context of going into the 3rd game and just focusing on the quality of the opposition. Not saying that's totally irrelevant, but the point I'm trying to make is that had they gained 3 points vs Switzerland, they wouldn't have had to go all out to win vs Hungary.
  7. 'played' being a loose term.
  8. Ferran Torres slots nicely past the Albanian goalkeeper. 1-0.
  9. Can you not see that? If they had won vs Switzerland (the better outcome) you know fully well they wouldn't need to commit so many bodies so late on vs Hungary and having to scramble for the win. If they're on 3 points, and going into stoppage time last night at 0-0, you know exactly that they don't need to 'try so hard to win'. They can settle for the 0-0, right? End up on 4 points and pretty much be guaranteed to go through to the knockouts. But I think you're being deliberately obtuse about it all. If you don't think they'd have been in a better position with 3 points going into yesterday's game than 1 points then there's no points discussing it any further.
  10. Sorry but where were you last season? You didn't even bother to defend it!
  11. What are they even going to 'review'? Just means they'll close the loophole. They can't undo the transfers, I imagine.
  12. Not weird magic, but do you not think they'd have gone into it with a bit more confidence and less pressure, knowing a draw would have been suitable? Not necessarily a better side, but mentally they might have approached it differently...
  13. EFL do something good for once. Rare, I know. Clubs proposing this is just more evidence that those clubs and owners just do not give a shit about local communities or fans as much as they say they do. This does nothing for those fans that were here several years before the owners were and will still be there several years after.
  14. He's gotta ditch the 2 DMs. If you want the most out of this attacking prowess you have to give them the freedom and set up to do so. He's nullifying all of our attacking threats without the making the opposition try hard to do so.
  15. Be almost practically impossible to not go through on 4 points. Already have top 3 place guaranteed, and not sure there's a scenario that if England do finish 3rd they won't finish as the one of the four best 3rd-place teams with the 4 points already on board. In fact it'll be pretty much confirmed England are through even if we do lose, should Albania and Croatia both lose tonight, or Albania win and Croatia win by a big margin. Either of those will be on 4 points too in that scenario and then it goes down to goal difference. If either of those finish in 3rd but less than 4 points, England will be guaranteed to qualify even if finishing 3rd - as Hungary currently occupy one of the best 3rd-place rankings with only 3 points, and one of Albania/Croatia will also be there but on less than 4 too.
  16. Should be able to watch Colombia vs Paraguay tonight. Expecting a Colombia win...
  17. TABLE AFTER ROUND 2 @Viva la FCB just about clings on to top spot but the gap is now reduced to 2 points, as @Dan scored 20 points to climb to 2nd place. Also scoring 20 points was @The Palace Fan who shot up to 8th. But bettering those scores were @LFCMike who propels himself up to 3rd and only 3 points off top spot, and also @Spike who goes from 25th place to 12th place. Fewer shocks than Round 1 led to quite a few perfect scores - @LFCMike, @JoshBRFC, @Devil, @Spike all scoring 3 perfect scores. Particular shout-outs to @JoshBRFC and @OrangeKhrush being the only ones to correctly predict a 1-1 draw between Czech Republic and Georgia, whilst the same goes for @Tommy who correctly guessed Austria's 3-1 victory over Poland. Small margins across the table as only 4 points separate 4th to 12th ,and then 3 points separating 13th to 22nd. A big week like any of those above can make a huge difference...
  18. Kick-off 17.00 (BST) VS Venue - Westfalenstadion, Dortmund
