  1. Footballer on the pitch. A crime-fighter, unbeknownst to him (?) off it...

Big shame as he'd worked ridiculously hard to get back in to shape and try to be fit as well. Maybe the little stint at RCB in IPL, in hindsight, wasn't the best decision? But I guess he wanted some match practice. He's a big miss because of his talent but SA have Rabada and Ngidi who can be the next fast bowling stars (if not already).

Sri Lanka started well then collapsed like a house of cards. Perera their saving grace right now.
  4. About time. I'm guessing you would have done it last season but couldn't afford it?

Can't hold a poll then moan at the results. Gotta give the people what they want I'll change it back if you beat us

Well done Pakistan. Genuinely didn't see it being this close or you winning @Stick With Azeem! Bet you weren't feeling like that when Root and Buttler were in!

This game would be over if Pakistan persevered with a slip

Best game of the tournament so far. Twists and turns throughout, especially England's batting innings. I know they've not lost yet but there can't be that many times where a team loses when chasing even though 2 of their players get centuries...

And he did jack all with the bat . Pakistan done well today. Good target to chase for England.

It's only been a few overs Strong start though.

Fancy Amir getting a few more wickets today. Not before England pile on the runs though - Trent Bridge is one of their favourite places to smash teams out the park. Probably why they're so confident of chasing any total hence bowling first. If they restrict Pakistan to anything around 300 it'll be comfortable for England. Hope there's no rain to spoil the day. Tomorrow's game between Afghanistan & Sri Lanka looks like it'll be wiped out - rain forecast all day in Cardiff.
  12. To be fair if this is the height of war and tensions between the 2 I can live with that

Apparently it's to do with a 'recovery period'. I don't agree with it and don't understand it, to be honest. Looking at our fixtures as well, we've got quite a few gaps in our fixtures even with the late start. The biggest gap being 6 days between playing Pakistan on 16th and Afghanistan on 22nd. Then 5 days after that to play West Indies. Shortest gap is England on 30th June then Bangladesh on 2nd July.

Good on Bangladesh. Happy for them.
  16. 'overrun by outsiders' As of 2011 Census, this was London's ethnicity stats:
  17. And by looking at people in the street, how are you meant to know whether people are English-born or not? Assumption on skin colour?

Was just about to say. I know it's minor in the grand scheme of things but why not just tick along like they were happily doing. Think Afghanistan could surprise a few. Reckon they'll beat Sri Lanka on Monday.
  19. Or skin colour. I don't fully understand what people say though when the say a certain city is 'not English any more'. What should it be, by their standards?
  20. Is he though? How many times you been to London recently? I'm guessing you think there are 'no-go zones' too

They've got a couple of decent players in Rashid Khan (who I only realised a few weeks ago was Afghani, oops!) and Mohammed Nabi. Think over the next few years with the right investment they could become a bit better than just a minnow side.
  23. Amuses me when people say London isn't London any more with the implication being that there's probably too many people of colour there and it's not as white as they want it to be. But ironically, that is what London is. It's a diverse fucking capital city and we should be immensely proud of it. Not a stick to beat it with. Further amuses me how conflicted some people will be if Sajid Javid becomes PM. Will those who hate Sadiq Khan (because of his name, primarily) be fine with a Tory PM with a similar name?

Think what also needs to be factored in is that teams from the sub-continent traditionally struggle on English surfaces. Even iconic teams of yesteryear traditionally struggle.

I doubt every game will be like that though.
