Yes and is that a problem? Even if it wasn't I would prefer city to win, city are a better team and there legal "issues" are to be determined,I am not going to join the angst pose just because it is fashionable to hate success.
Didn't say it was a problem. Just didn't think it was an attractive competition to play in.

Must be feeling very confident now @Tommy going into the 2nd leg.
Good luck!

If United win aren't Newcastle completely out of Europe?
I believe so, as Man Utd would get the Europa League qualification spot and Chelsea get the Europa Conference League spot.

The original statement came from a Newcastle fan, @OrangeKhrush to be exact, last time I checked they were in the EPL.
I know. But that's not who you quoted or replied to .
As for the edit in your post, again you conflate. You reference comments about Bayern when Leverkusen have won. But the context you totally ignore.

Well, that's laughable. Regardless whether they won the UEFA Gup before or not. It's like saying winning the Europa League would had meant more to Liverpool than winning the title. The league is the most important competition for any club, regardless, if some English Premier League fans, whether local or from abroad, are interested in it or not. The EPL' s fans isn't that decessive for a foreign club's self-assessment, believe it or not!
He did say at the start of his sentence that winning this wouldn't have been worth a lot more to them?
Once again you make reference to 'English Premier League fans' despite a) other English fans agreeing that Europa League wouldn't have meant more and b) Blackburn aren't in the Premier League.
I go back to what I said the other week - you have a clear dislike of fans of all English clubs and will use any opportunity to slate them. Just because one or two, or even a few, English fans say something you disagree with doesn't mean it is indicative of all English fans. Stop tarring us with a brush you love to use constantly.

Which means you'll play in Europa Conference League...

It is pretty wrong, if he is found guilty will he get 10 months with a suspended sentence like Tonali? or do the FA go softer and give like 6 with a suspended 6.
I think they'll go harder.

That can't be all there is though as it doesn't say much. If they have evidence of him betting that he'll get a yellow or anything like that, then it's a wrap.
Seems like they do

If he wasn't being charged, no one would think anything of these incidents other than he's a bit rash. So the incidents by themselves don't really reveal too much. Will be interesting to see the evidence The FA have as that's probably much more damning.
That must be part of the evidence, surely? As in they're literally 4 of the offences referenced by the FA.

Feel like it's too much of a gamble for Chelsea to go with Maresca. He has flaws, some of which were criminally exposed last season. Extremely stubborn in his tactics, and if Chelsea are looking for someone adaptable, then he's not the man. The one huge plus Chelsea have over us (and pretty much any team) is that he'll be given copious amounts of dough to spend however he likes. I don't know what the structure is at Chelsea and whether the manager even has a big enough say in it, but you can probably sensible assume he'll have a decent input into players they can buy.
It's a bit of a wild gamble for Chelsea to make considering the calibre of managers they've had in the past, even if they do change them regularly. Even with his success with us last season, I'd have still not thought he makes such a big jump considering his inexperience as a manager. It's only been 1 year but I'll be fairly down if he does leave as I was looking forward to the project he had begun and being able to galvanise the team after a relegation. He managed to get players back in favour or get the best out of them after they slumped and had a hand in that relegation (Vestergaard, Ndidi for example.
I don't think they'd improve on a 6th-place if he was hired and I wonder how he'll handle the pressure. It appeared to get to him in the slump we had, and that kind of slump gets exacerbated several times over in the Premier League. I'd have thought other managers would be available that are more fitting for the job?
I still can't understand Chelsea sacking Pochettino, let alone who the new manager is that they'll opt for.
I hope Maresca stays with us, but I wouldn't begrudge him a move to Chelsea so soon in his career. I just don't think it's the right time for club or person...

Leverkusen had an unreal season, but to lose the last game is going to be an absolute kick in the nuts and undermines the hard work. Sure they won the Bundesliga, but winning the Europa would have been worth a lot more.
It doesn't undermine anything
Winning the Bundesliga is more than the Europa.

Lookman will deservedly get the plaudits but Ederson is an unsung hero. Pressed effectively in midfield for Atalanta along with Koopmeiners. Dominated.

Delighted for Atalanta, and especially Lookman.
All the attention (rightly to an extent) on Leverkusen, felt like Atalanta never got a look in pre-game but they've absolutely blown Leverkusen away. Credit to Gasperini for nailing tonight.
Leverkusen have still had a stellar season and one more final to compete in on Saturday!

Is that the Leicester City Lookman?
Yep. Could have bought him. Didn't. Bad decision as I think he did well for us. Very well suited for this system.
Gasperini has aued a blinder.
1 hour ago, Rick said:What is going on with Leverkusen?
Bad starting formation. Decision not to play a striker is odd. Not sure if it's something they did regularly in Bundesliga but to not play at least one of Boniface or Schick was surprising.
Plus they haven't been able to cope with Atalanta's high and aggressive pressing. Gasperini tactics spot on and credit to the players for sticking with it for so long as many teams tire with this level of press high up the pitch.
