OK fair enough maybe you have coached I don't know. If she was better than Southgate then why don't the fa get someone to coach England from the youth set up and pay them a lot less? The reality is knowing something and teaching or coaching it is very different. And even with professional footballers there is a lot of coaching and strategy involved. Even the best managers make strange decisions at times and select formations that everyone knows are wrong. That was what I couldn't understand. Why do they do this when everyone knows it's wrong? Surely if we all know elite managers know its wrong. She said its because even if you know something in should work better in theory. In practise there is coaching to do and problems that need to be worked out.

@The Palace Fan Mjf was actually very popular as a face. Like I said I didn't really like him as a face myself. But I think it was the right idea at the time. You wouldn't have a clue where to start mate. I know someone who coaches a girls football team. Miles away from England senior men's team but the principles are the same. Anyone can pick a team but to get those players and that formation to work is work is where the coaching comes in. If you managed the England team you wouldn't even qualify for a tournament

It's international football. You play a maximum of 7 games in final tournaments. Who cares if its pretty.

Apparently refs have been instructed not to give penalties if a players arm and shoulder are facing down. I think it would of been given as a penalty before. Most fans don't want to see as many penalties being given for handball so that's probably a good thing.
