  1. Fake news thinkers more like. Bill Gates did not say it, fact checked here https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/bill-gates-vaccinations-depopulation/
  2. BeIN Sport, owned by PSG chief exec have written to the Premier League asking them to refuse the Suadi takeover of Newcastle United.
  3. It took a global pandemic to shift Ashley. Most likely cashing out so he can buy up businesses on the brink.
  4. The strategy noises from the media are that £150-200m will be put in for the first 3 years and if the club and team progresses they'll keep doing that in 3 year cycles. It's also been noted that commercial revenue can increase by £50m a year eventually even without a fake sponsorship deal because that part of the business has been ran so poorly.
  5. It is a thing for some people but it's not a big enough thing to be that detrimental. Bolo Zenden went to Chelsea over us because of it. Not that I mind in hindsight we got a much better player in Laurent Robert instead. If someone doesn't want to be a millionaire in the North East you have to question what exactly is it that they want to get up to in their spare time. Is it for their bored housewife who wants to buy Gucci bags everyday. Success depends on the success of the manager and director of football. With Steve Bruce as manager and Nikos Dabizas as Director of Football I think we would easily bypass Arsenal within 12 months
  6. I don't know whether capacity can be increased at SJP as Mike Ashley sold the land around it and pocketed the money for himself. However we could fill a 60k stadium with the right price structure. In general the facilities within the ground need upgrading. Where I had a season ticket the toilets hadn't been upgraded since Euro 1996. There was a poster on the wall of Kevin Nolan and Alan Smith years after both left the club. The roof is getting covered in moss and dirt which doesn't get cleaned anymore. A shockingly poor quality big screen was put up next to the away fans. With VAR announced on screens the majority of the ground and most expensive seats can't see a screen. These are minor points but necessary fixes. The training ground facilities are notoriously the worst in the league. They haven't been upgraded in a long time because the argument was that it made no difference to performance. You may recall a picture of our players standing in wheelie bins filled with ice and having a paddling pool from Argos. Part of academy investment I believe is about connection in the local community. Providing good quality places for kids to play more than just the 11 players you put out in the under 14s league. Will it lead to more players coming through? Maybe. The Longstaff brothers are our first product since Dummett came through several years ago if we discount Adam Armstrong. Is their success because of our academy or is genetics and family playing a big role? They are the nephews of former Celtic winger Alan Thompson. But we also have to consider how much academy damage was done by the racist bully Peter Beardsley?
  7. Well Jamie Rueben will leave QPR board to be on Newcastle board, maybe he can bring Sir Les with him. In other news Nikos Dabizas wants to be our Director of Football Daily Mail report Yasir Al-Rumayyan will be Chairman. He's also on the board at Uber. The document submitted to the Premier League reportedly outlines plans for big investment in SJP, the academy and the team in 3 year stages.
  8. @Inti Brian what's this gender distancing they have in Peru instead of social distancing?
  9. Mundo Deportivo, Spanish newspaper, reporting that Arturo Vidal sees Newcastle as having a 'very attractive growth plan' and he'd be up for joining when we appoint Allegri as manager Could he get our possession up from 23% to 33%?
  10. Only just got email myself. Meanwhile A “best case scenario” being worked on by the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) hopes to end lockdown restrictions for certain non-essential shops and industries in the short-term, from early to mid-May. Some social distancing measures could then gradually be relaxed in the medium-term, in June and July, eventually leading to the reopening of pubs and restaurants towards the end of the summer. Long-term “shielding” for elderly and vulnerable people could mean the public being told they face limits on seeing over-70s parents or grandparents for as long as 12-18 months until a vaccine is found. The timeline relies on SAGE scientists calculating how many new COVID-19 infections per day the UK’s test and trace capabilities can manage, and an “impossible” political decision for Downing Street on how many deaths per day they are willing to accept in order to be able to lift some restrictions before there is a vaccine
  11. 20 London bus drivers have died. From Monday no one is allowed to board at the front of the bus. There's talk that when the tube opens back up no one will be allowed on without a mask, but obvious procurement problem to overcome before then.
  12. Whether you badly worded your original point or just can't accept being wrong and are coming up with new twists, the point being addressed is about whether there will be any money spent and the snipe at fans of the club thinking their might be. Quarters of the press have said money will be spent. That's where the idea being entertained comes from. Fans don't just make it up like you said. Truth is this all stems from you being a salty mackem of sorts. You can't post about Newcastle without a dig at the fans.
  13. Read your own initial post again carefully. You were talking about spending power, that happening is in the papers. Simple as that. That's where people get it from. Simple as that.
  14. I was addressing your original point. You've now completely changed it from Venky's and Duchâtelet to spunking £300m on mercenaries. The Newcastle before Mike Ashley, the Newcastle I grew up on, was a regular in Europe with cup runs and marquee signings. That's where I'd like to be back to.
  15. "People" are simply entertaining what the press are telling them. They don't make it up based on wikipedia calculations of wealth.
  16. Football finance expert Kieran Maguire thinks within FFP a £150m transfer budget in the next window and a significant wage bill increase will be possible. Of course we have no clue what the new owners are up for doing. It's all speculation at the moment.
  17. The last time a billionaire bought Newcastle and promised big things we were relegated 2 years later
  18. We wouldn't be able to attract big names overnight and there's always a risk you do an Everton when you have a lot of money. Goal would have to be gradual increase. Starting with pulling away from the dross and becoming solid top 8. That shouldn't be too hard as we don't need to build a team from scratch for that.
  19. Taking it as media talk at the minute. We know Staveley and the Rueben brothers are involved. We don't know yet if and how much the Saudi's are involved. I recall an article over a year ago saying Staveley and her backers would not spend massively. Whether this is the same backers I don't know. The Saudi's are pivoting to sport washing now, as we saw with the Joshua fight and soon Formula 1.
  20. How many goals do you think Andy Carroll can get next season with Gareth Bale on the wing?
  21. What's Avram Grant doing these days? Director of Football spot has opened up here
  22. Who do you guys think we should get, Allegri or Pochettino?
