  1. I love how these new owners have came in and tried to do everything gracefully so far, only for Steve Bruce in his press conference asking for journalists to be getting slapped by their bosses 😂

The man wears his heart firmly on his sleeve, you have to say that much. I think him in charge for the Spurs game is purely for some good press for the owners. Letting him manage his 1000th game before his cushy pay off (8m is mental btw) is a good PR move from them.

By the way, I think Paquetá is the perfect Klopp player. Dude is a machine both defending and attacking.

I agree on Poch. I also think he won't survive the season. But to be fair, it's really tough to fit Neymar and Messi at this point of their careers. Neymar lost some of his pace, he can't really be a winger anymore. I'm not sure what Poch should do. That job is quite the trap, as Tuchel can attest.

I would love Paqueta, he’s an absolute beast. And he’s very skilful on the ball, big fan.

Icardi makes it 2-1 PSG. Very unfair for Lyon.

That penalty call was bizarre. It was Neymar who actually fouled Gusto (who looks like he's the real deal, btw. Only 18)

Anyway, there is lot to be excited for Lyon fans. Their midfield is one of the best in the world, Paquetá, Bruno and Caqueret all had very good performances. Bosz is a good coach and they'll fight for the Europa League title this season.

Lyon were excellent. Says everything about how good that midfield is when you’re bringing Aouer off the bench.

Poch will not last the season. You can’t sub off Messi at 1-1 with 20 left to play. He just made his job harder for himself, and his arse was saved by Icardi.

Has he ever played out on the wing while Firmino's out of the side? Genuinely curious.

Because imo Origi's always looked best down the middle and have always thought playing him out wide was a bit strange.

I don’t know about when he’s started, but I was talking about his sub appearances where he usually ends on the outside. Way more effective when you stick him in the middle.

Weird one this. I can see the argument for keeping him around for another season as fifth choice, although personally I'd have cashed in on him. Extending his contract though, which presumably comes with a wage increase? Feels like we could just be pricing out any potential buyers which I think it's probably the issue with Origi now too.

The only way this is logical is if we have agree a loan with option to buy with somebody. The extension would leave us with good value if they end up wanting it permanent. If not, it’s stupid because his stock is only going to drop from here.
