  1. That’s the thing I can’t give Klopp a pass on. The stubbornness to not change the approach to games when we are missing a lot of the players that make our ‘plan a’ work.

He keeps saying “we are doing everything great until the final touch” which is bollocks. We have scored twice in the last 7 games without a win at Anfield. Our build up play is boring and predictable, other teams just have to sit and watch us pass it around in front of them and if they are at all competent at defending, they will keep us out. Playing the high line even now after injuries ravaged our back line, and having slow players in centre half positions is mind boggling.

I'm sure Ali will be taken to one side and asked if he needs a break. I think he will need to carry on, from personal experience it doesn't help to sit around doing nothing in times like these.

I think he will want to play. Like you said, it’s the best thing to do at a time like this. Especially when you can’t go home to see him so you would only be sitting alone with your own thoughts. Best to keep distracted.

Do we still have that ex-Arsenal physio that presided over their injury crises?

Because if we do... sack him now. But first break every bone in his body for the awful job he’s done at two clubs. And then get fucking rid.

Gotta be the worst fucking physio in the world

Why would you hire somebody who was in charge of a club that went through a crisis like that? Crazy when it comes to hiring medical staff

The high press worked pretty well last season. It's not a case of it not working anymore or other clubs somehow "sussing" us out. Last season everyone knew how we were going to set out our stall but that didn't help them because they couldn't counter it.

It's not working this season because we have missed the players needed to implement it, imho we get them back and its going to work just as well again.

The point is we aren’t going to have them back this season so let’s do something else.

I think that is where we have problems Rick, our success over the last couple of seasons is down to our pressing game, it's not easy to emulate otherwise everyone would be copying us.

The problem is we need world class players to accomplish it and right now that's where we are struggling, we can pull it off once in a while but without VVD, Fab and now Hendo we are struggling to play that style with any consistency.

Exactly, and that’s why there has to be a plan B for times like now. It’s not working with this side at all. It’s slow, predictable and has very little intensity. Teams can sit back, easily defend it and then hit us on the break.

I really can’t believe that we have stuck to it so much, since the Palace game it’s been the exact same thing. Leipzig was a one off because they tried to play expansive against us, which plays into our hands.

It’s times like now where you want to see some flexibility from the manager. We don’t have the tools to play like we want, so find another way.

I'm not writing Kabak off, he's still a baby in CB terms but he doesn't look like what we need at the moment. Positioning is pretty poor and he looks slow. Playing two with experience either side of Kabak or Phillips might be worth a try. I dunno

Agree, I didn’t expect him to be this slow to be honest. I know he’s only played 3 games, but it’s clear that he needs help.

Who's the three if you don't mind me asking?

    Fabinho, Kabak and Phillips?

Personally as an outsider looking in I think I'd say the best three would be Fabinho, Kabak and Robertson as the three with that Greek lad at left wing back. Luke Shaw does the left hand CB role pretty well and I think Robertson could fill that space easily.

Henderson is a huge loss though given the circumstances, who offers the same drive to your team without him.

Don’t think Klopp fancies Tsimikas all that much, but it’s definitely one to ponder in the LWB role. If he was given a chance I think Robbo would do well in a back three as well. If not. Then you play Phillips, Kabak & Fabinho. Depending on how Davies is seen in the squad, then you can swap Phillips out for him.

Considering how things aren’t working currently, I don’t see the harm in trying it. You would bolster up that midfield a bit with 5 there.

  8. So, what is the expectation for the rest of the season. Genuinely?

With Henderson gone for a while (it sounds bad) we have to get used to that midfield for pretty much the rest of the season I think. A midfield that doesn’t work, with a defence behind that looks so flimsy. How are we getting anywhere near that top four?

Injuries are one thing, but the absolute dog shit performances by some of these players just isn’t acceptable. Mane & Firmino have been a mess this season, put everything on Salah’s shoulders. They absolutely have not done anything for us have they, especially Firmino. The number of chances that have dropped to him and he has wasted is criminal.

There is 14 games left, we have to win about 9/10 of those to get top four. At the least. Can’t see that at all. I think we may need to focus on the champions league to salvage anything this season, depends how the next couple of league games go. If we don’t beat Sheffield...fuck me that will be bad. West Ham could be 5 points ahead of us in 4th today so we need to go on a run sooner than later.

  9. @nudge I always find that the most liked or favourited pictures I post, are usually some of my least personally favourites. This first picture may not be THE most liked of mine, but it got a lot more than what I usually get on my insta feed. The second picture is one I took about 4 years ago, and I’m still very happy with it.

All good films but Under Seige best out of the 3, the follow up Under Seige 2 was a little bit of a let down for me.

Under Siege wasn’t better than Air Force One for me. Siegal’s wooden acting took away from it.

You never wan't to rush players back but even if Mane and Fab are 80% we need them for Sunday.

Both must play. It’s such a massive game for both the points and the momentum that we need to have them. I would be tempted to try Kabak in the game as well. Need to fast track these lads right now.
