  1. We play with a front three, so he's really second or third choice. Why weaken our attacking areas by letting him go? He scored 1 in 2 at Swansea, he clearly has talent as a goalscorer and can be a great option off the bench. The financials are a good excuse for the last 6 months but the previous 12-18 months still shows real reluctance to strengthen the squad. Would you be happy to see continued lack of investment in the first team? How long do you think we can realistically keep this up and still stay roundabout 1st/2nd. Chelsea, Utd, Spurs, Arsenal...they arent going to stop investing, they can only improve on what they are. You expect these players to be able to put the same sort of shift in for another 2 seasons. These levels are insane, they need help.
  2. I ended up watching the original Disney version of Robin Hood again. It had been absolutely years since i last saw it and I always said it was my favourite and I'm happy to say it still is. It is absolutely hilarious and me and my 54 year old father were laughing our heads off watching. Bloody loved it. 10/10
  3. I don’t get excited over transfers, I’m not 12 years old. We do need some holes filled in this squad, which is all I’m asking for. Havertz would have been a luxury and one I would have loved, mind. @Dr. Gonzo Some good points there mate. Signing our best players to long term contracts after that CL win was massive.
  4. Talk about us being open to sellIng Brewster. That’ll push me over the edge. Make no mistake, I’m forever grateful to Klopp, the coaching and the players for winning us the league for the first time in my life. My aggravations are not aimed at any of those. People can post stats and in depth financial figures to try and explain this lack of spending but it all comes down to one thing; stinginess. I’m not having this “we don’t wanna take loans and put the club in jeopardy” stuff, we hadn’t spent on the squad for 18 months before COVID 19, so I’m not having that being used at the excuse and reason to be this tight. Record prize money for a Champions League winner, record prize money for a Premier League winner. Club World Cup winners. New massive contract with Nike. Numerous lucrative partner and sponsorship deals. Where is all the money going? Other clubs are improving their stadiums/ building new ones and improving their training grounds. Clubs in a lesser financial position than us are doing this while also improving their squads. FSG have been great for us, but let’s not forget their missteps along the way. Trying to increase season tickets, wanting to furlough non playing staff. They are money oriented, every owner is and I understand that. But these lot take the biscuit, our net spend over the last few years is clear evidence of this. Klopp has worked wonders with this team, and our success if down to him and amazing recruitment. We aren’t fucking Burnley. If we aren’t prepared to invest in the team while it’s on top, to keep us on top, then what is the point? There’s no reward without risk, and hearing stories of the owners making the same sort of mistakes with the Red Sox is very worrying. I’m disappointed beyond belief that it looks like we are standing still while our closest rivals are all strengthening. I mean for fuck sake you have ‘mr unambitious’ Mike Ashley giving funds for 20m on Callum Wilson and we can’t pluck up the cash to bring in centre half cover. Happy with the team, not happy with the club right now. Think they are on course to waste this golden opportunity with these decisions. And I know that this will be an unpopular opinion with a couple of fans on here. Most likely be told to believe in Klopp. I believe in that mans abilities to no end, but when his hands are getting tied tighter and tighter it makes his job harder than it should be. He deserves to be given funds to improve, and anybody saying he will be happy having to put Fabinho in at the back, and lose him in midfield is naive to say the least.
  5. I can’t make heads or tail of that information, at least not on my dinner break. Surely though, most clubs in this league are in a even/ worse position and they manage to strengthen. I was disappointed that we never made a move on Havertz because I think he’s a potential world class talent. I don’t want or expect us to be spending what Chelsea have spent, I know we aren’t the club who can do that all the time. BUT you cannot tell me that selling Lovren and not bringing in a replacement makes good business sense. Same if we let Gini go and don’t bring in Thiago. I want to wait until the window is open to see what happens with the squad.
  6. He’s pacey and very direct. Will wanna take defenders on, should be an exciting signing. I think he’s ready to flourish.
  7. I mean, I agree with him to a point. But you can’t expect these young lads (most who have had only a handful of first team appearances) to perform at the level out first team needs on a consistent basis. The idea scenario is adding two or three proven quality players and then bedding these young lads in slowly.
  8. Knives Out - 9/10 I absolutely loved it. The plot, characters, script and direction are all so good. Highly recommended.
  9. Best song of 2019 for me.
  10. Now we are starting to see some highly paid players off the wage bill, I expect to see that re-invested into the first team. Lovren, Lallana and Clyne were all on a mint. The club needs to fuck off with this penny counting attitude from the last couple of years, its very annoying. We have won the two biggest prize pots in football in the last 18 months and have numerous new sponsors and shirt deal. Thiago is a good next move, but we need help up front.
  11. I’m fine with keeping him for now. When he is properly on it, he’s very good. Problem is that his really good days aren’t that often.
  12. @Lucas @Stan Some fair points raised by you both. Never thought about the homegrown place to be honest. Makes more sense. I’m no fan of Joe Hart. Thought he was vastly overrated at city and he has always had that air of arrogance about him. Not my taste at all. He’s banged on about playing first team football since he left Burnley, then goes and makes this sort of move. There may be good reason for it, but he just ends up looking a bit of a knob to me.
  13. He’s going in as third choice. He’s not got a chance of making it as their first choice as he isn’t better than Lloris. He’s not exactly gonna be playing at a decent level though. The schedule doesn’t make much difference. Lloris will play 50 games this coming season, anything over with go to Gazzaniga. You and I both know a GK is the least rotated in the squad. I just see this as pointless for Hart, who has said numerous times that he wants to be playing football at this point in his career.
  14. This is the arrogance of Joe Hart. Not willing to drop down a level to build his reputation (it’s shit now for a reason mate) back up. Instead, he’s willing to throw another two years of his career away by being third choice at Spurs. Barring mass injury he will play 5 games in two seasons, max.

  16. Upgrade - 8.5/10 Well, that was fucking fun. The budget was only 3m, which is kind of crazy. Fantastic sci-fi indie. Also, they guy looks scarily similar to Tom Hardy.
  17. Also, as if there are 55 members of staff in one club shop at the absolute most you’d have 20, and that’s if they are loads of part time contracts. Not having that as an excuse for them.
  18. Well it’s you again, backtracking. It’s not important at all, but you made a point of quoting me to “correct” me when I was already speaking the facts.
  19. No it’s not. You said they were “looking into it” that’s different to “we are doing this”.
  20. They announced they were doing it. Then did a u-turn when they received the backlash.
  21. It was bad enough that rich premier league clubs were using the furlough scheme (I was disgusted by Liverpool doing it after a record turnover) but this is another level. Players taking pay cuts with the assurances that no jobs would be put at risk. The club have proper acted snakey, with no intentions of following through on that ‘promise’. Arsenal really are very easy to dislike at the moment.
  22. Least he isn’t crying over a birthday cake.
