  1. Interesting. I wanted to watch it, but was put off by the terrible reviews.
  2. Better to have an off day in the league matches than the knockouts like Champions Trophy. England bowled brilliantly. Just according to the field. On a side note, Pakistan Twitter are screaming match fixing .
  3. Same everywhere. People to people contact are good between our countries, as well. I have quite a few friends from Pakistan from my Orkut days. Doesn't change what I have said before. There is a lot of friction between the two countries, Pakistan and Afghanistan. On a side note. If Kiwis win today then I expect them to take it easy against England. That Bangladesh versus Pakistan match looks increasingly important. Currently, Bangladesh look the better side and more mature side.
  4. Stupid captaincy by the Afghan captain. When the spinners were troubling Pakistan he bowled himself, conceded 18 runs and lost the match.
  5. Sarfaraz gone. Huge wicket. Would be nice if Afghan get the win. Video of the fight between the fans. EDIT: Wow Boult hattrick.
  6. @Cicero Yep I heard that too. Though I fail to see what Godzilla vs Kong can offer. If anyone is curious watch Rampage. An overgrown Gorilla takes on a croc and wolf. And it was largely shit too.
  7. Hearing reports of fights between Afghan and Pakistani supporters. I know that a lot of friction exists between those two countries. Though some are saying it was over tickets. Also this happened. Actual game is nicely poised. Though Pakistan remain favourites.
  8. Yeah, I was going to ask about that deal in here. He was one of your better players last season, even though his form went down in the second half of the season. All I am seeing on Twitter is that his girlfriend wants to go to Italy.
  9. @Spike I haven't bought a bat since my school days. I used a MRF bat, but of Kashmiri willow and not English. Made it cheaper. They are good enough against leather balls, though most of our cricket was played with rubber or tennis ball. I don't know if Kashmiri willows are available outside India, but they are cheaper and good for casual cricket. One of my young cousin represents his school team and trains professionally. He uses a Spartan bat. I have played with that bat, and it's quite a beauty. The sound it makes is lovely. But I must also add that he is a lower order batsman, who is primarily picked for his spin bowling. He also has a spare Adidas elite Sachin Tendulkar bat, which is a beauty to look at but feels differently when you are in your shots. I don't know, the weight seems weird when you play with it, despite it not really being that heavy.
  10. Yep, they have always been a circus.
  11. Naah, @Harry always has the wildest takes on all LFC issues. This is not a dig at you, Harry.
  12. Retaining the core of the squad is important, and we have done a good job with that, but at what point should we be worried about no additions. It's important to improve our bench, especially when we expect to again compete with a freak of a side like City.
  13. Watched Kong Skull Island. Not a patch on Peter Jackson's King Kong, but this one had the potential, and yet it seems they wasted it. Also, the humour scenes seems awkward. Visually it was a beautiful film. Too bad they didn't work on the rest.
  14. Kinda bored with the 1992 jokes now. The only one I am finding funny is this from always witty Naila Inayat. Kudos to Sri Lanka for making this tournament exciting. They might not make it to the next stage but their victory over England has really brought this tournament to life. England must be absolutely worried now. Favourites for the tournament, but on a verge of an exit. It's not going to be easy for them against us or New Zealand. Funnily Bangladesh might have a chance considering we play four matches in ten days and might just rest players against them or Sri Lanka. If England fuck up then that Bangladesh vs Pakistan match is a virtual quarter final. Pakistan technically has the easiest fixtures, but they need England to screw things up.
  15. England not making the next stage will not be good for the tournament. Just needed someone to support Stokes in this and the last match. Also, they have looked brittle in the face of pressure. Guess Pakistan will be supporting us, when we take on Bangladesh and England.
  16. The Saffers have been a mess. Don't think they have played that poorly, but just haven't taken their chances and made some lousy tactical decisions. Amla's poor form hasn't helped.
  17. Watched Fighting with my Family. It's a nice flick. The fact that it's based on a true story makes it more enjoyable. Merchent has turned out to be a good director. The scenes involving Paige's brother were brilliant. I hope to see Jack Lowden in more roles. Lad is talented.
  18. Wow what a day for cricket. What an innings from Brathwaite. Almost pulled it off.
  19. Watched The Layover. I don't think I ever watched a terrible movie and yet felt content and satisfied. And this was a terrible flick, and not even a 'a really good bad flick'. Just plain rubbish. Much of it was down to the gorgeous Alessandra Daddario. That scene with her in the black strapped bikini was something. So was the crazy sex scene. But she also displayed fabulous comic timing here. She really was good at comedy, and that is not my dick speaking. She really needs to star in a better comedy.
  20. Brilliant bowling by Shami, but Bumrah showing once again why he is the best. Shami has had quite a turnaround after all those personal problems, which affected his cricket then. Priceless contribution by Jadhav. Looks like a non-threatning player but he usually delivers when the team needs him, with the bat or ball. Good bowling by Afghans, and a terrific innings by Nabi. He has done it few times in the IPL for Hyderabad. On the current match, crazy collapse by the Windies after Gayle and Hetmyer were batting so wonderfully. On a side note, Kiwis WAGs are really fine. EDIT: Brathwaite must just pull this off. The World Cup has really taken off in the last few days. Hope this goes to the last over.
  21. Yep, huge population and lot of it spills into our country. We have similar connect to their people, just like how US has to Mexico - minus the drugs. A major chunk of the maids and labourers working here are Bangladeshis. Also, their T-20 league is quality. Has helped them find and nurture new talents. One of them is Shabbir, who failed yesterday but is talked about very highly. On another note, Dhawan is officially out of the World Cup. Pant joins the squad. It would be interesting to see if they select him in the side. It would be harsh on Shankar.
  22. I strongly suspect that MUFC who kinda started it, didn't mean to write a pun and was probably a typo by his phone. Probably spelt 'hungary' and his phone made the H capital.

    @nudge : I didn't like Firefly. Me and @Viva la FCB
  24. Good effort by Bangladesh scoring those runs. Should have conceded less. But they have matured as a side.
