  1. Controversial opinion, but the music is actually nice and relaxing.
  2. Imagine Pandya with Rohit today instead of Jadeja. We could have won that. The other problem is that without Pandya we wont play Chahal. It's absolute stupidity messing with an important all-rounder in a World Cup year. He needs counselling and maybe even a hefty fine, but banning him (has been asked to return to India) is just stupidity.
  3. Everyone already knew about Hardik and Rahul's off field activities (Apparently they are popular with girls). They just talked about it on the show, except Hardik was rather crass about it. Things like announcing to his parents how he lost his virginity, his affairs and the black thing ( he thinks of himself as a West Indian and to be fair to him his West Indian teammates at Mumbai India have said the same countless times, like how he is born in the wrong country and should have actually been a West Indian). He said that like a West Indian he first sees how the girl moves on the dance floor before making the move because it's important for later (read sex). And lastly, his favourite pickup line, "Hi, I'm Hardik always". Personally I thought it was just cringe and the sexist remarks deserved the criticism, which he got from all quarters and for which he apologised. But banning him for that is just daft. And Rahul getting the punishment for simply being part of the show is just wrong.
  4. This is daft. I watched the show (Koffee with Karan) featuring these two, where usually Bollywood stars come and reveal their secrets. The format of the show and its host has that effect. I cringed at all the things Hardik said and expected a backlash from the PC twitter mob. The criticism he got was justified, but to suspend him for having shitty opinions is a bit too much. Also, amused that KL Rahul, who didn't utter any daft things, gets a suspension too.
  5. Once Prithvi Shaw gets fit, I never want to see KL Rahul, Vijay and Dhawan anywhere the test side. Shaw and Agarwal should be our regular openers.
  6. I didn't know there was an original. If this a restoration job, then just by trailer it looks fascinating.
  7. Watch the Spanish movie La Isla Minima. You will thank me. For me, that movie was way better than True Detective. @topic This looks really good. Fifteen, seventeen year olds sent to war.
  8. The best thing I have seen in a long while.
  9. Yep, it is trying to the gain from the Harry Potter. The first wasn't a great movie, but it was a decent watch.
  10. Watched Fantastic Beasts Crimes of Grindelwald. Apart from the final reveal, which basically sets up the next one nicely, the rest of the movie was bang average.
  11. Nice to know I wasn't the only one pissed off with the granddaughter. As for your other points

@Mel81x 's home state coming out with best kind of competition.
  13. Watched the new Halloween movie. Thought it was meh with few good moments. Also, in what seemed like a good star cast, the girl who plays Jamie Lee Curtis' granddaughter sticks out like a bad apple with her constant pouty lips and overacting. I know @Cicero is a fan. What did you think of the movie? Also watched In the mouth of madness. The acting and direction felt looney at times, though the movie somewhat salvaged itself at the end.

The real cause of the smog is farm stubble burning in the neighbouring Punjab, Haryana (which can be prevented); large scale construction; open garbage burning and old diesel guzzling vehicles. Crackers just heighten the problem but are a easy target for the idiot executive and judiciary to blame. Feel bad for the Delhi folks. The air is poisonous there. Not so bad here in Mumbai. @Mel81xcan't and shouldn't complain. Heard the weather in Bangalore has been pleasant for a long time.

Stop the earth. It's time to get off.
  17. Just coming back from A star is born. I can see why there is Oscar buzz around it. Well made movie simply about a relationship with two leads putting in good performances. Nothing special but it's just the kind of movie the award functions love. It's a decent debut for Cooper the director, even though it feels just a tad bit rushed at the end. The whole buzz is around Lady Gaga (and she is good, especially when she is performing songs) but I thought Cooper was more impressive, even with that dodgy cowboy accent. And he sings quite well, too. Which brings me to the songs. I am not big on country music, but I loved couple of the songs (not the pop ones of Lady Gaga when her career takes off).
  18. Looks good, more so because it's based on true events. That last bit though. RSVP have been quietly producing these small or mid budget movies with different and interesting stories.
  19. Watched Venom. It wasn't great but it wasn't that bad either as the criticism going around. Also, watched Andhadhun. It's not a typical Bollywood movie. Probably the best movie I have seen so far this year. Smart, funny, edge of seat thriller where the dark humour is brilliant. @Stan I know you watch Hindi movies from time to time, please do watch this. It also stars your favourite girl. And anyone else who loves dark comedic murder thrillers should do too. You will thank me.
  20. Heard in the commentary that the lad has played 60 tests. Think it's more mentality and approach. We had that too. In time we have become more professional. These little things like game awareness (you will find that in batsmen from India, England, Australia, South Africa) is now second nature. It came with time. Pakistan, despite all their enormous talent, continue to lack that.
  21. So this just happened. Not surprised that Pakistan is involved.
  22. Watched 'Crazy Rich Asians'. It's like every second Bollywood movie. The only time I (or for that matter anyone else in the theatre) laughed was when Ken Jeong or his family showed up on the screen. The only other good thing was the excellent food shots. Also watched the 1987 version of 'Man on fire'. It's a typical 80's movie. I was slightly creeped out by the way they showed the hero and child's relationship. But overall it was an enjoyable movie. If you have enjoyed movies like Manhunter or Thief, then you will like this one. For those who have watched Denzel Washington's version, this might be a decent watch too. He and his crew stole the show. The 'truth serum' bit was hilarious.
  23. Has just scored a century on his Test debut. There has a been a huge buzz around his debut(last seen around Kohli's debut). Tendulkar and Gavaskar's legacy continues with yet another hugely talented kid from Mumbai who is bound to score scary amount of runs.
