  1. Can't put us there anymore. In the past 5-6 years we have been amongst the best fielding sides. Your point is right in a way. Pakistan's ground fielding had been poor. @topic Utterly poor captaincy from Pakistani captain. Overcast conditions, and he bowls a spinner against a batsman returning to international cricket after 8 month injury lay off (rohit) and Dhawan who has been in iffy form. And again later, allows Kohli to settle down before bringing back Amir to bowl. I am not complaining, though.
  2. Watched 'Layer Cake'. Quite a decent movie. On a side note, some of Michael Gambon's dialogues felt like Dumbledore's quotes. Not kidding.
  3. Big day tomorrow. Not an ideal buildup with Kohli and Kumble fighting.
  4. I doubt Klopp will use strikers, and instead prefer a false nine. It's a good setup when we have someone like Mane. As for Salah, his stats are definitely up there. My only issue is come the next AFCON, we will miss both him and Mane. On a separate issue, seems we pulled the old trick of trying to renegotiate wages after a deal had been finalised with Van Dijk, leaving his reps infuriated. Now he is going to join City or Chelsea. Typical.
  5. We have better equipped batsmen. On a side note, for a change our fast bowling is looking awesome. @Champions trophy Personally think one of us, Eng or Aus will walk away with the trophy.
  6. Watched 'Sachin a Billion Dreams', the biopic on Sachin Tendulkar's life. Essential viewing if you are a fan of the man or cricket in general. Gives a peek into his life. The only minus point is Sachin continuing to not call out players involved in Match fixing. He claims in the movie that he didn't know anything, when Tehelka's (a media organisation) sting tapes say otherwise. The then coach, Wadekar, came to him with the knowledge that Azhar and Jadeja were going to throw their wicket and try to lose against New Zealand. Sachin promised the coach that he will win those 2 matches, and went to accomplish that. The man is too nice and refuses to call out the likes of Azhar. Anyway, it was a good watch overall.
  7. Danny's lot looked soft this time. Can see them struggling.
  8. One of the best serial killer movies. If you haven't then I urge you to watch Memories of Murders, as well. @Big Lebowski. It is a genius of a movie. @topic. Watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Absolute bore of a movie with few interesting gimmicks.
  9. Watched 'La Bonne,' hoping it to be a typical cheesy, Italian softcore about a neglect housewife and raunchy maid (don't judge me), and to an extent it was. But overall it left me surprised for being a decent flick. And Florence Guerin is so beautiful.
  10. Watched ' Taking Woodstock,' and was left disappointed. There was so much potential for this to be amazing, but it ends up being an average movie.
  11. Brilliant final of the IPL. Pune lost it, when Smith and Dhoni allowed the runrate to creep high. 130 was an easy score for them to chase. Jos Buttler's celebration, though.
  12. All season reviews should be like this. This is funny. https://mobile.twitter.com/DeanCoombes/status/866379399473582080 PS: How does one embed a tweet here?
  13. Watched License to kill for the first time. Nice movie, but more importantly I have my new favourite Bond girl. Carey Lowell was so cute.
  14. He had a decent spell in the Scottish league too. I agree with @tarzanontoast. Lets hope HTFC get promoted and he spends one more season, to continue his development. At 23, he is still young.
  15. Finally watched 'The French Connection'. It was decent, even though Roy Scheider was wasted. It's amazing how Gene Hackman has played the foul mouth, tough guy role in almost all his movies.
  16. Bet you would have thought differently if they had given you a teaspoon of Don's ashes. (Nope it is never going to get old) @topic Ben stokes lit up the IPL, and been the biggest reason why his team has qualified for the playoffs. Can't remember the last big money player being this effective. Players who are sold at a high price end up being underwhelming, at least in their first season.
  17. Decent goalkeeping by the kid, Daniel 'Noodles' Moore. Post match interview. https://twitter.com/LFC/status/862708316165877760
  18. I doubt that. For a lot of players, playing for Barca or Real is a real attraction (more so for Spanish, Portuguese and South American players). Fergie did his best to prolong his stay (by a season if I am not wrong), but in the end he wouldn't have been able to stop him. You are right about the league losing its shine with Ronaldo's departure. But I don't agree with the second part. English clubs dominated Europe between 2004 to 2010 or thereabouts because of the caliber of managers. With the current crop of managers at the top 6 clubs, I fancy English clubs to dominate Europe in the coming few years once again.
  19. They speak German in it and it stars the bald guy from Lives of others. That's German enough for me.
  20. You can add one more to that . Saw Funny Games. The original German movie. Overall a decent movie, though the need to shock viewers gets tiresome after a while.
  21. Saw Das letzte Schweigen aka The Silence. Really good serial killer movie. Builds up slowly, and I found it hard to like the grieving cop, but that end was so rewarding. It makes you uncomfortable, which is a sign of a really good movie.
  22. Remember watching it as a kid and having a crush on Yanti Sommer. Then I went on to watch the Star Wars ripoff War of the Robots just for her. @topic Rewatched 'And the band played on'. Still a wonderful film which talks about the early research and public response towards AIDS.
  23. Just finished reading Jane Harper's The Dry. Hard to believe that this is a debut novel, because this is a top effort.
