  1. I've been jostling with trying an MMORPG again but after Divinity and the amount of hours I burned there I think I am sorted for 2018. Since you like platformers I'd recommend Hollow Knight if you haven't already played it. Simple and a very fun game to play. Or Dead Cells which is more Castlevania (2D) oriented.
  2. Pre-ordered Detroit: Become Human today. From the leak reviews its supposed to be better than Heavy Rain and Beyond:Two Souls which isn't hard to believe considering the pedigree Quantic Dream have in this arena. The first game Heavy Rain is still one of the most memorable story-driven games I have ever played.
  3. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/05/xbox-adaptive-controller-a-bold-answer-to-the-tricky-world-of-accessible-gaming/?comments=1 Very fascinating
  4. I can't remember where I read it (maybe on here) but I think his entire disciplinary breakdown may have something to do with him not being happy at the club. While I don't think that's the kind of attitude you want from a player you're trying bring on-board I have no qualms in what he will provide on that first season which was very good. Only time will tell what happens here.
  5. https://www.whoscored.com/Players/243510/History/Naby-Keita Go to the History tab and look at the record set for 16/17. Eight yellows which you'd probably expect from a player in his position.
  6. Got myself a pair of Arctis 7's. Nice pair of gaming cans and not too expensive either. Wireless headsets are truly a great luxury.
  7. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/44121606 Just read this about the Ox today. Nice gesture.
  8. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/05/report-ps4-has-now-sold-roughly-2-5-times-as-well-as-the-xbox-one/ I kind of agree with Microsoft's stance on all of this because in all honesty getting into a market for new users is a fools game these days considering how many people actually pick up a title regularly (casual gaming). What does baffle me is how they are turning a blind-eye to the dev-shop market and not trying to get more of those teams to build great games for the XBox. Still think this generation's console from M$ is just a precursor to something far better on their next attempt.
  9. Let me know how FM18 catches on for you. I have been considering an SD card because my Switch is filling up but I can't make up my mind on what I want.
  10. If you haven't played it the first time it came out Bayonetta 2 for the Switch is very fun. The myriads of combos and the load times make it very playable on the switch and so far I am liking it. The price is a bit steep but well worth the fun. @Bluebird Hewitt what are you playing on yours right now?
  11. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/04/shadow-of-the-tomb-raider-hands-on-lara-croft-brings-about-the-mayan-apocalypse/ Lara's new adventure is looking very nice. Might actually decide to go out and get this one for PC when it comes out.
  12. I think the joy of beating Real Madrid in a final will overshadow all the rest of the news assuming they and us get there of course.
  13. I hope they give him the medal because he did help get us to where we're at now even though we realistically no longer need him.
  14. Sad news about the Ox and he was doing really well too. Going to be a big miss considering the amount of pace and direct attack offering he brings but having said that this is when we have to turn to players like Gini so that they step their game up. I thought he was brilliant last night apart from missing a sitter but we all know he just can't finish them which if he adds to his arsenal will make him a bigger threat.
  15. I'll only say this. Its a shame this game isn't multi-platform and never will be because it is easily the best thing I have played in 2018 hands down. The only thing I think that will challenge it is Red Dead Redemption and I am not even sure that can break this narrative and story put aside the graphics engine and the combat system.
  16. Apparently the new God of War is getting ultra-hot reviews across the board. Had it pre-ordered in March so we shall see tomorrow what the fuss is about. Anyone else getting it?
  17. He went through a bit of a slump where he couldn't really find his feet or get the goals needed but so has everyone in the front this season. I am just glad that he's back to his best when it matters.
  18. Why did I not see Pot at the top of those lists :(. Having said that I don't think we'll do very well but this team will put up a fight. The youth team didn't do as bad as I expected them to at the FIFA WC and this senior squad has a lot of promise.
  19. I can actually see us getting out of that Pot and progressing. I see problems with Oman and only because we've suffered there before but the rest I think we shouldn't really do so bad against. Our NT is getting a lot better and with the success string of the ISL our local game development is also getting better (nowhere near world standards just yet). Didn't figure you for supporting Thailand but with Qatar in there and Iraq I don't know about your chances being as good.
  20. Haha yes they are very quite cringey that way. You should see the finals its quite the spectacle. Back on topic, I think there's very little difference between the OpenAI bot and Deepmind's AlphaGo Zero, both learn through experience and trial-and-error and that's really where the AI limitation is. The time to learn and ramp up quickly enough to beat an opponent isn't guaranteed by simply seeing the playing field because the system isn't capable of understanding all the permutations and combinations by knowing the rules and applying them as-is. This is where the next level of AI is taking precedence where it can gain the the environment faster than the two AI's we've mentioned. When that day comes the bot in the game and AlphaGo will never have to play a single game and beat its opponent purely on data about the environment. If it laughed at the opponent once its won I'd start getting worried but we're not there yet and it will probably take another 3 to 5 years atleast.
  21. Its strange how a few months ago people were moaning about how many midfielders were being brought in and now this has happened.
  22. After watching that I was half tempted to go and buy a drone to try some 'homebrew' activities out. But it will never be a reality based on the kind of AI development that we currently have. No system has that much horsepower to do what the video in the space suggested ... not yet atleast. But what I have seen is a system that can laugh at jokes and use secondary comprehension to make sense of sentences that have a totally different meaning to what is actually written (on your garden variety processor). These kinds of macro-advancements in AI lead to much better usage when it comes to searching and making recommendations on what kind of condom is best suited for bedding the partner of your dreams but crumble horribly when trying to make tactical strike decisions. There's just too much data involved to be able to provide a precise strike option and the other factor that targets in motion cause the system even more of a headache because the stabilizing component requires to be in constant calculation mode. As was mentioned just above its mostly hocus-pocus right now but I'd like to imagine that with the advancements in robotics and the nano-form-factor we are seeing in prosthetic science that the day isn't very far where making tactical strike-engine based AI that uses robotic mobility to deploy weapons that can neutralize threats in the war field isn't very far away. 10 years ago if you lost your leg you were granted a stump and a captain hook walking style for the rest of your life. Try telling that to the Robotics division of MIT, Boston Dynamics or even the guy in Israel who built the mine detector system today and you'd be laughed at. The system would also need time to learn and make ALOT of mistakes but if you're interested in seeing a system gain advance in a closed-space watch this real-life video. Granted its a game but what it does with its learning is astounding.
  23. Started playing Monster Hunter World (PS4) and so far I am enjoying the depth of this game. The monster hunts aren't bad but what is impressive is how much tactical nous goes into getting the hunt right. Fun game and I'd recommend it to someone that likes extreme depth in the environment and has the time to spare. If you're a casual gamer this will piss you off in the first 20 minutes.
