  1. Which is just utter nonsense. Such a strange vendetta to have. He has that drive to win and edge that every single top player in history has had, but he’s about as far from arsehole as possible as modern day footballers go.
  2. He should be. But I won’t hold my breath. He’s one of the greatest players to ever play for this county, the numbers are going to be massive when all is said and done. He will hold so many individual records. He’s been captain of England since he was 24! He’s not appreciated because of who he plays for and in some ways the style of play he has, but he should be the example for every single young kid out there. He’s got to where he is through hard work and application. Failure didn’t cause him to give up but try harder. I think people are always going to find ways to criticise him. Even if he goes and wins trophies elsewhere he will still get people playing down how good he is, but fingers crossed when he is retired people will appreciate him more. I’d just love for him to win something with England. That’s the ultimate
  3. And from a guy who supported a racist up front for his club, that used to bite people, because he was good at football.
  4. That’s genuinely one of the most ludicrous statements, from a usually great poster. He’s so far from it. He’s the ultimate professional, family man, still with his childhood sweetheart, stays out of the media and trouble, gives so much back to charity sponsoring all of Leyton orients kits to do his bit for a club that he had his first loan at and also mental health charities close to his heart. The hate he gets is absolutely baffling.
  5. Honestly, think he’s being massively underrated by your fanbase. And I totally understand that. But he would do more than ‘do a job’ - he would be one of the best players in the championship, and your new gaffer would love him. He lost his way a bit with us, largely through style of play we were playing and confidence if I’m honest. But he will be so good in the championship at setting the tempo and progressing play. He was the stand out in, albeit a relegated, Sampdoria side last year after injury and he’s shown he can perform in two major European leagues now. Some of our fans criticise him far too much too so I wouldn’t read too much into what they say either. Needs a fresh start but can almost guarantee he’s one of the signings of the summer for you at that level.
  6. What’s the next big challenge for Pep? Score a goal at Tottenham Hotspur stadium?
  7. I think that’s probably fair enough. He’s not a bad player at all though, but perhaps a lot more system orientated to get the best out of him than others
  8. He isn’t. He’s a good player. He’s an above average premier league CB and if he was playing for anyone outside the top 6 people would be talking him up again. He obviously has his limitations, and mistakes at a club like United get massive attention, but he’s still a good player and performances for England show that
  9. I worry about his shot stopping if I’m honest, the metrics on it are not particularly great. Very good ‘keeper with his feet but underlying numbers are a slight concern for me. I think he’s the one we want though and will probably settle on something around the £25-30 mill mark with some add ons. Just depends if bigger fish decide to make a move also
  10. If CCV can manage it, Maguire certainly could
  11. He’s a system striker at this level, I’m pretty convinced of it. Worth that fee to Brentford but nobody else. They’ve literally built a team around him and his strengths, the direct style wouldn’t work at a bigger team.
  12. Not sure there’s much truth in it but he fits the profile of the sort of guy we’d be looking at. Not sure he’s had enough experience just yet to warrant the job
  13. No he didn’t. Why do you just make things up. De Zerbi too much of a loose cannon for us. Any chance he had of getting the job was ruined by his antics when we played them a few weeks ago
  14. Yes it is. It’s so negative. And very unnecessary. You can be hard to beat and good defensively and still be a great attacking force. At the height of Pochettino that’s what’s what we were. Fewest goals conceded and most goals scored in a season
  15. Maybe, maybe not. Think people underestimate what an attractive job spurs is though. Even with all these current issues, all the infrastructure is in place. You get extremely well compensated for it. It’s fairly low pressure in that you succeed and you look incredible and you don’t succeed and you can just blame the existing structures and problems. Win win.
  16. Absolutely not. As far down the list as possible. Three managers in a row playing negative football. That’s not what Spurs is about
  17. Ah sorry threw me with the wording thought you meant an English player. And yeah for sure. Best partnership statistically in premier league history by a distance now
  18. Kompany not actually on the shortlist as far as I’m aware. Nagelsmann seems to be the one they’re trying for If it’s not him I think it will be Arne Slot. The Feyenoord gaffer. i just want someone that plays good football, values coaching and integrates young players
  19. These are my thoughts from January and honestly they’re not too dissimilar now. I’ll do a proper post when I’m on my laptop but my thoughts on the problems we are having are linked. It’s an absolute circus right now. Levy has completely lost the fans. We’ve had vanity project managers that are past their best and that have to take partial blame for the failures. Dreadful football, a complete lack of coaching for the squad. In contes case he completely alienated the whole team with his style of management. I’ll go in to more details later but by the end there wasn’t a single player sad to see him go. Unfortunately those players cannot be let off the hook either. Same old players manager after manager that constantly fail. Squad players like Dier and Davies under Poch now playing every week. Lloris well past his sell by date. Plodders like Hojbjerg in the middle. We have some great attacking talent still and it’s not utilised. Son coming off a golden boot told to drop twenty yards deeper and get the ball in non dangerous areas to accommodate old man perisic. The next appointment is massive. These players need coaching, they need patterns of play, and attacking emphasis. Plus we have to have an overhaul. The old guard need to go. Time to go back to what made us successful, young, hungry footballers that want to take instruction and learn, and don’t have the history of failure tied to them. We need to change the mentality
