  1. Going to be interesting watch under Arveladze and the new owners. They are aiming for technically better players than what they have which is a demonstration of their ambition. Can't fault that. They want to aim high. However, despite all the links, those players are yet to arrive. Honeyman is a strange one in that he feels like a solid 7/10 player for them every week and when things go rough at various points in the season, you need various characters in your squad you can rely on and he would be one of them. He'll fit in well at Millwall. My gut is telling me there's more of a tit's up relegation vibe about Hull than playoffs so a lot will depend on who they bring in.
  2. I've not heard that one to be fair but I really hope it works out for you.
  3. Well well well, Steve Bruce is having a cracking start to the window. First John Swift, now Jed Wallace. You'd be liking the look of them now, especially with Daryl Dike returning after his horrendous injury.
  4. Top Gun Maverick. Brilliant. Utterly, utterly brilliant. Most fun I've had watching a movie for a long time. They just absolutely nailed everything about it from the story, which was thoroughly engaging, to the characters that were really likeable. Miles Teller is great in this as is Jennifer Connolly but it's Tom Cruise's show and he absolutely runs it. And for the action sequences alone, I am so so glad I saw it at the Cinema. It just doesn't do it justice if you don't. I'll 100% watch this again.
  5. Jurassic World Dominion I'm going to keep this kind and not be too harsh as I grew up loving Jurassic Park. The third film of the newer one's is definitely the weakest and there is far too much going on that its easy to lose interest. Two ridiculous plots interwined that over complicate everything and the film runs far too long. There are some really cool bits though, not least with one particular scene containing Bryce Dallas Howard that actually ramps up some great tension and cinematography. Not to mention seeing some new dinosaurs enter the fray and the action sequences that involve them. And obviously it was cool to see the likes of Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern play substantial parts back from the original. But as each film came out, its only made me appreciate just how good the original was and there is only so much you can do with that concept. Definitely time to call it quits now.

Never seen them before but you just know they'd hit right when you want a quick fix. Turkey drummers and Crispy Pancakes as well. The plus side of kids

That's actually reminded me of a childhood staple. I used to just bake a whole bag of these, in a bowl and wallop, gone.
  8. That whiffs of a Gary Lineker line on Match of the Day.
  9. The shithousery by Southampton to buy what was Portsmouth's Player of the Season is just brilliant.

  12. Good signing for Everton, that. Basically getting a £20m rated proven centre back who usually plays 95% of the season, for free. Can't grumble really. The fact he is a nasty bastard too is maybe what Everton need. They were very soft at times last season.

No sadly not. As you can see, there wasn't a flood of responses to my initial shout I'd play whatever was decided but I think even if you just said one buy in for the whole game for those that were concerned about putting too much in, least if there were say 8 players, that's £80 to play for like. Anyway, if we did get interest off the back of these posts then I'd be happy to ger the ball rolling.

Yes. Through the first lockdown, I had about 4 or 5 virtual poker tournaments with friends and we'd set up a zoom too so we could all see eachother (before we all got a bit Zoom'ed out). Was really great fun. Again, I'd love to do a 'friendly' game on here but I do feel you need a little something on it because it completely affects the way you'd play a hand.
  15. How much of a jump is that from a standard home ticket for Grimsby? I'm guessing you're talking between £10-15? It is a bit sad because making the price cheaper means you're more likely to get the 'casuals' in also that may not support the clubs but have an interest in both clubs because they are from/live there. Hopefully it draws in a big crowd. Just a shame they picked West Ham as the venue and not maybe the new Spurs stadium or even the Emirates.
  16. This looks a bit different.
  17. That Luton team is getting ripped apart. They will struggle next season.
  18. Not just that, but people will pick holes in anything desperate to find an angle just so they can disagree. I saw an arguement on Talksport the other day saying how could Klopp win it when Liverpool were actually top of the table less days than Chelsea, Tottenham and Man Utd, and won two cup finals without winning the actual match. That's some serious clutching.
  19. Who else was nominated? Millwall, Galatasaray and Lazio by any chance?
  20. You should be able to forgive and forget if the player in question has done their talking on the pitch, I agree. They are all relatively young men in the public eye who will make mistakes in life like we all have, and need nurturing so you'd like to think Southgate offers that support to all players, not just his favourites but here we are. Anyway, it doesn't matter whose called up really, the tried and tested format from the Euro's will be rolled out for the first group game in Qatar with little to no varience. Southgate is far too one dimensional for me to get the best out of what he has.
  21. I'm not disagreeing as others have had incidents but I think you missed the point about this happening more than once with Maddison. And that's ultimately why I think Southgate is excluding him. As I alluded to before, sadly for Maddison, I think he's got a negative stigma fairly or unfairly, with Southgate that seems too hard for him to shake.
  22. Reminds me of Lee Bowyer. I'd say he marked his own card with Southgate and probably carries a negative stigma about him personally. Hasn't Maddison had two or three occurances where discipline has let him down? I seem to remember the incident where he pulled out of the England squad feeling unwell only to be pictured loving life in a Casino. I think he also had or went to some party with the Euro's like a couple months away? I realise he isn't the only one, others are in the squad and had similar issues but I think the incidents have really stung Southgate enough to completely blank him as its happened more than once. He takes discipline seriously having suspended players in the past for misdemeaners but it seems Maddison has burned more chances. Not saying that doesn't mean he isn't worthy of a chance, I like Maddison as a player and he should have a shed load of caps by now, but I've seen this all before with Lee Bowyer. Without doubt the form of his life for us between '99 and '02, one of the best scoring midfielders in the country in the O'Leary team, and he never got a look in due to a negative stigma of off field problems.
  23. That must be a massive relief, I did think he might bow out if you won the Champions League. All on Mane now then seeing as these Bayern rumours aren't going away.
  24. 2 extra spots. For example, if it was applied this season, England would get an extra spot (So 5th would qualify) and the Netherlands would also (So 3rd qualifies) as those are the countries with the highest coefficients in this campaign. It's just getting worse and worse. The new format is made primarily with the aim of having the biggest 16 teams constantly through, lessening the chances of your Ajax's, Villarreal's etc making the runs they have in recent years.
  25. I wonder if he'd have done it this time last year? You could see how strained he was when things became more difficult, his body language and demeaner were of a man downtrodden and the moaning was next level. But it seems like he's been revitalised and got the bit between his teeth again. He's obviously come around to the idea and had certsin assurances from the club. In all honesty, he'd be nuts to leave whilst they are at the top of the game. Either way, good news for Liverpool and the Premier League because he is elite in his field, even if I do find him a bit of a cunt sometimes. By bit, I mean a lot.
