  1. I've been wanting to try bubble soccer for such a long while.
  2. Well, Yooka-Laylee was made by a different company (Playtonic) that has a lot of old Rare employees, hence the new IP. For now I just hope they can release some expansions for this game and possibly make a sequel.
  3. Yeah, it's crazy how similar this game feels, all the way from the music to the character design to the meta humor and gameplay. It makes me sad about how Rare was relegated to a Kinect shovelware factory.
  4. As for Zelda, I'll get it for the Wii U in a few weeks. Looks really interesting. Free roaming is what the series has desperately been needing for a long time.
  5. Did anyone get into the new platformer Yooka-Laylee? It's a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie and the old collectathon 3D platformers of the N64 era, made by much of the old Rareware crew. So far it plays excellent, although reportedly it is quite short.
  6. Still recovering from the festival I went to last week. Man, I have to get back to the gym...
  7. Seeing Schalke being outclassed by Ajax last night has made me realise how far they have fallen.

    Metal and Rock

I made quite some metal compilations: https://blackivorytower.podbean.com
  9. Yeah, some of the villages and outposts in Online are bigger than the hold capitals in Skyrim...
  10. I feel we had this discussion before. The geography in Skyrim is quite diverse, even if it may look the same because it's all wintry. You had the highlands of the Reach, the autumnal forests around Riften, tundras, hot springs, both leaf and pine forests, and snowy wastelands, all modelled after realistic geography. I thought it was pretty sweet. It doesn't feel as outerworldly as Morrowind, but I think every hold did have its own feel to it. The only thing that bothers me about Skyrim is that the towns are so small and uninteresting. Oddly enough, Elder Scrolls Online is the game that nails this, as each capital is a metropolis with tons of life and own character. Sentinel and any of the Elven cities are quite magnificent.
  11. I play TES because of the adventure, not the RPG elements, so I don't mind that the latter is being "dumbed down". Also I wouldn't call Skyrim generic, as the dungeon design and layout is more varied and detailed than ever, and after all that's where you'll end up spending the most time. I replayed Oblivion recently and couldn't help but notice how 80% of the dungeons are indistinguishable dark caves.
  12. Still Skyrim Special Edition... By now I think I've discovered all locations and cleared most of them. There are still some quests left to do, but I also like wandering about the wilderness with a bow and arrow to see what I come across. I still discover new shit with my main character even at level 114.
  13. Britain and the EU in a custody battle over Gibraltar, who would'a thunk it? Also, isn't it telling that the EU selected the Guy Verhofstadt (you know, the gap-toothed overweight Papist who looks like an elderly lesbian) as negotiator? One of the most rabid pro-EU politicians and opponents of Farage is going to negotiate on behalf of the EU. Diplomacy!
  14. I might have banned him back in the day.
  15. Contemporary politicians edition. Reasons may vary wildly. @Tsubasa @Rab (after a sex change) @nudge @DeadLinesman @HoneyNUFC @Batard @Cannabis ===BONUS ROUND=== Voice of Reason (RIP)
  16. Having no control over your own country is pretty bad, yes.
  17. Good for Britain to free itself from the EU. A Nexit is quite far away after our latest elections. Something has to happen in the next decade, otherwise Holland can considered to be non-existent and it'll be time to move on.
  18. I really like the movement. Being able to climb on ledges, moving fast. That makes combat less restrictive and more fast-paced. Modern shooters often miss this aspect.
  19. Got the new DOOM. Very nice so far. It's a much better experience than Doom 3 back in the day.
  20. Bought some Dutch political books: - De empathische samenleving (The Empathetic Society) by Jesse Klaver, leader of the Dutch Greens. Read it in a day and it's simplistic trash without a hint of intellectual depth. No wonder his party wants to lower the voting age, because children are the only ones who will be able to relate to this. - De aanval op de natiestaat (published in English as The Significance of Borders. Why representative government and rule of law require nation-states) by Thierry Baudet, Dutch MP. Currently working my way through it, and so far it presents a very thorough argument against supranational organisations such as the EU and the UN through a multidisciplinary analysis of the history of states, nations, law and government. - Minderheid in eigen land (Minority in One's Own Country) by Martin Bosma, Freedom Party MP and former Speaker of the House of Representatives. A critical look at the crimes of the ANC and its enablers in the Dutch media. Have yet to read.
