Pretty straightforward group for Egypt in this one, and I'm excited to see Senegal again as they are such a joy to watch.

African players will not be released by their clubs for September qualifiers if they are too be quarantined on their arrival

Clubs are milking the covid excuse. They don't like seeing their players going play internationals anyway. FIFA should take a stand on this it's the WC.

Players like it too as El Professor mentioned once that internationals are special for them as a big part of it is to play in your native team culture as to foreign one which they do week in week out.

Oman score and take the lead against Japan in Osaka. What a surprising lead this is for Oman as they go into injury time .

Japan isn't in Africa

Algeria are cruising 4-0 at half-time against Djibouti, Slimani has scored twice. The Algerians seem to be the standout team in their group, although Burkina Faso look like their strongest opponent.

Egypt have signed Carlos Quireoz

Quireoz in an odd move has left out Egyptian league's top scorer from the squad, who scored two goals in the 2-0 win in a friendly a day ago

Double header for Egypt against Libya. Big games for Quireoz, he's not had much time with the players and now fans will be expecting 6 points against Libya who are at top.

Algeria are now 29 games unbeaten but without Soliemani and others this time though they can handle Niger

Algeria with another thumping 6-1 win over Niger. Although I would like to see both sides at the WC an Algeria-Egypt play-off in the final round would be great. So many top talent and a proper derby

Senegal and Morocco have qualified for the play-offs. Algeria are now 31 games unbeaten fourth longest streak in international football only Spain of 2008 Brazil of 1990s 35 game each and Italy from 2018-2021 have done better 37 games.
