I get his reasons and I can understand where he's coming from but it does feel a bit like he's jumping off a sinking ship and bailing out early to me.

Now, they not only need to find a new Manager but they are just about to enter the winter transfer window too, the craziest of windows which should imagine that's going to play a big part in their survival.

So not only has he got to try and access the players he has, he's going to be under pressure from the get go to find out where he needs to strengthen or face running out of time.

Incredibly disappointed by this. It was only the other day that he was saying that he wouldn't leave unless he was told to. Just goes to show how things can change in a matter of days. I don't blame him really. The situation at the club at present is dire and the majority of the fans are growing disillusioned with it all too. Unfortunately, and as much as it breaks my heart to say this, we are now doomed. Usually, I'm one of the first to find the light in a dark situation but I think the light is going out on Grimsby Town Football Club. We weren't in a great position as it was but at least with Ollie in the dugout and with the passion he had shown for the club and for making things right for the people of the town, there was some hope that the off the field dramas would be masked somewhat by the events on the pitch. I would have liked to have seen him give it a shot with the new owners when they come in but as he said on social media, he didn't get off to the best start with them so it would be a strained relationship from the off. Ollie is a great manager with an incredible footballing brain and although he didn't have the full support of the fans lately, I don't think anybody in our fanbase can say another manager would realistically be doing any better; not a manager that we would attract anyway.

I don't know what is going to happen to us in the next few weeks and months but I know that we need to get our current owners out and hope the new ones are not as shit as the current regime. On the field, we are going to struggle, especially without a manager like Ollie and with the lack of perceived quality in the side. Yes, we have a transfer window but it all depends on who the new manager is going to be. I can't honestly think of any manager out of work at the moment that would take on a club in our situation.

As if Christmas 2020 wasn't going to be shit enough, we now are managerless, about to have a complete change of ownership across the board and we find ourselves teetering towards relegation to non league again which took us far too many years to get out of. Not good.

He’s got history for chucking his toys out the pram and doing a runner, so this isn’t so surprising.

I’m shocked he had the support he had from their fans. I’m not sure if the fans are keen on the owner and Holloway cleverly placed himself on the side of the fans to try and create an us vs them scenario or if they were genuinely willing to give him time but from the outside looking in, Holloway brought in a load of rubbish in the summer and it’s little surprise to see them struggling. The January window was going to be huge for Grimsby, they need an injection of experience in that squad but are now dealing with bringing in a manager too.

You're right. He's only recently decided to side with the fans but then on the flipside, he's got a great relationship with John Fenty (who the fans absolutely despise and want out the club ASAP) and with John selling his shares, Ian's decided he wants to go too as it was John who brought him in and sold the vision of the club to him etc. As for the fans liking him, it was mainly down to him being a 'big name' for us to attract and he won the fans over with his commitment to the club and with buying shares etc. it's only recently that he's started to have a few fans on his back with the performances on the pitch.

Please tell me he's not referring to Alex May.

Absolutely not. It's a guy called Tom Shutes. Heavily involved in some regeneration projects around the town and is wanting to invest in the club too.

Paul Hurst is back. Got us promoted from the National League and I really liked him as a manager so glad for him to be back as I feel he's got unfinished business. Knows the club really well and hopefully this will be the start of some more positivity around the club and the team.
