I think the manager has to take some credit here. Yes he may have better players than many previous managers. However I remember when scotland won away on France and only had to beat Georgia away to qualify. So it's not always about talent. Fair play to him I didn't think he would do that well. However Scotland have really impressed and thoroughly deserve finishing in 2nd place and making the play-offs. Austria were a bit of a disappointment, but they gave their best performance so far in this group today, with their 4-2 hammering of Israel.
