Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted October 19 Subscriber Posted October 19 Bad sprint qualifying for those of us who want a battle or for Norris to win the WDC. I think the Mclaren has pace but it isn't looking driveable or well set up, same with the Mercedes which could well be the fastest car. I expect Mclaren and Ferrari to have good race pace. The rest of the weekend will be interesting. Quote
MUFC Posted October 19 Author Posted October 19 If they're set up more towards race pace and gets a good start. Touch wood, he should win the race. Quote
MUFC Posted October 19 Author Posted October 19 Both Ferraris on the tail of Norris in the last 2 laps. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted October 19 Subscriber Posted October 19 That doesn't bode well for Mclaren's chances in the main race. Will struggle to beat Max or the Ferraris I think. Quote
MUFC Posted October 19 Author Posted October 19 McLarens tyre wear is usally one of their main strengths. Also, during the final stint of a race they usually come on strong, especially on lower fuel loads. In the sprint they had neither. I know that RB have brought upgrades. I wonder if this second 4 weeks break has benefited them. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted October 19 Subscriber Posted October 19 Great first lap from Norris gets him pole. Verstappen would probably have had him on the second run but Russell brings out a red flag. Hopefully Mclaren have better race pace tomorrow. Norris starting on pole ahead of three slightly faster cars behind him should make for a great race. Quote
MUFC Posted October 20 Author Posted October 20 Wonder if Norris would have had an even better pole lap if he didn't slide a bit near the end of his lap. Quote

MUFC Posted October 20 Author Posted October 20 SC might help Max who was under pressure from Sainz. Ferrari looking quick. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted October 20 Subscriber Posted October 20 Am I the only one looking at that and thinking Max dive bombs Norris from behind and forces him off the track? He's the king of just about getting away with things. Same with how he's stayed ahead of Sainz without question despite taking an off-track detour to Mexico and back. Ferrari's look quick. Mercedes looks horrific. 3 years and they still can't get a handle on the behaviour of their car. Quote
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted October 20 Subscriber Posted October 20 I know lap one turn one is treated differently but Russell has just got a penalty for doing what Max did on lap one except Max's was worse because he didn't even keep his car fully on track. Drivers do that all the time when they overtake ffs. Make your minds up whether it's allowed or not. Quote
