Smiley Culture Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Inquest into his death today and it’s been announced that he was seeing a counsellor after becoming “low” after losing his managerial job at Crawley Town, and subsequently committed suicide. That’s really shocked me to be honest.
Administrator Stan Posted April 5, 2018 Administrator Posted April 5, 2018 Sad to hear and unfortunate the help he was getting sadly wasn't enough.
Smiley Culture Posted April 5, 2018 Author Posted April 5, 2018 I do hope that Drummy’s untimely death leaves a bit of a legacy behind. You quite often see fans on the backs of managers and players and it can get quite aggressive and quite hostile, sometimes very quickly, and I hope people maybe take a step back and realise that managers and players are humans, they’ll make mistakes, like we all do and that they can suffer from the same problems us ‘normal’ people go through. I’m not blaming Crawley’s fans for this, I should make that clear, it could have happened at any club.
Bluewolf Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 Such a sad turn of events... I doubt anyone could have guessed he was that low he would contemplate suicide...

Personally I've always had that there only human attitude but it does seem rare.
Spike Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Not wearing my glasses and I thougt the thread said 'considered suicide' but then I realised it was much worse. RIP
Dave Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 He offered football a lot in this country with his quality around progressing young players at Chelsea. He very nearly got the Palace job off the back of that in 2014. Very sad to see how this has all ended for somebody everybody spoke highly of.
