Dave Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of former Blackburn striker Nikola Kalinicfrom AC Milan. The 30-year-old, who made 42 appearances for AC Milan last season - scoring six goals - completed his medical in Italy on Tuesday. Sky Italy report the deal is in the region of €15m (£13.5m) including bonuses.
Administrator Stan Posted August 9, 2018 Administrator Posted August 9, 2018 just seen this flick up on SSN. Didn't know this had gone through - guessing he'll be a bit-part player to support Costa & Griezmann. Pre-empted the Vietto departure (if that's still going through?) but I'd have thought Correa would get more time over Kalinic...
Kowabunga Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Reportedly lots of red-flags and Milan fans were eager to get rid of him. If he can adapt to limited playing time and he brings some added value in terms of headers and pure 9 nine stuff... though... well... maybe the gamble makes sense (potential to improve what Gameiro brought to the table). I won't hold my breath, though. Amazing these days teams apparently need to pay €15M up front for a reject.
ScoRoss Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Really odd signing. He was anonymous for most of last season, when Milan needed a striker to set up for them. Expected his next move to be downwards and not to a club with Atlético's aspirations.
