Dave Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Middlesbrough are trying to bring in Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic on loan. I wonder if they have given up on Yannick.
Administrator Stan Posted August 9, 2018 Administrator Posted August 9, 2018 Apparently a deal has been agreed for a permanent transfer - Boro paying £6m for the defensive midfielder. @Cannabis @RandoEFC - how much did you buy him for? Happy that he's been sold?
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 9, 2018 Subscriber Posted August 9, 2018 We bought him for either £1.5m or £2m after the last World Cup where he apparently kept Messi in his pocket during one appearance. Love the guy to be honest but he's just not got enough about him to nail down a first team spot. He can tackle, press, dribble at times, but he isn't a goal threat and his passing is limited. He's also a yellow card waiting to happen every time he plays, sometimes a red. Any small fee for him would be good. Don't think he's on massive wages but still good to declutter the dressing room in a populous area of the pitch with several first team players in central midfield that people forget about - Schneiderlin, Gueye, Davies, Sigurdsson, Dowell, Besic, McCarthy, Baningime and word of us trying to bring another in.
True Blue Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 His career really went to the shitter, shame i hoped he would make it at Everton. Perhaps he can revive his career at Middlesbrough.
Administrator Stan Posted August 9, 2018 Administrator Posted August 9, 2018 deal fell through as personal terms of player & agent couldn't be agreed with Middlesbrough apparently.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 9, 2018 Subscriber Posted August 9, 2018 Shame. Would have been nice to create some more space and get the fee in. I expect he'll still at least move on loan or a permanent deal somewhere in Europe.
True Blue Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Good move for Bešić, he wouldn't have a look at Everton. Hopefully he can pick a starting spot in the team.
Subscriber RandoEFC+ Posted August 23, 2018 Subscriber Posted August 23, 2018 Besic obviously isn't going to break back into the Everton side but I still think he can cut it at the Premier League bottom half level and is exactly the type of player you want in a relegation scrap as long as he actually stays fit. Hope he can earn himself a move to a newly promoted team next season or at least a top Championship side.
