Administrator Stan Posted May 11, 2019 Author Administrator Share Posted May 11, 2019 Getafe could qualify for Champions League football by tomorrow evening (I think only @The Rebel CRS and now that he's back, @SirBalon may be interested ). Getafe have the better head to head record over Valencia which works to their advantage obviously. They also have the better H2H record over Sevilla so it's looking quite positive for the 4th places side. They just need to match Valencia/Sevilla's results and they'll have secured Champions League football. Any side from 14th to 18th could still get relegated and join Vallecano and Huesca in La Liga 2. Girona vs Levante is a huge six-pointer, though!
SirBalon
Getafe’s story this season is tremendous and very commendable. Considering everything. Can’t stand their club president Ángel Torres though.

End to end and Levante are currently 1-2 up after being 1-0 down in what has been an excellent game. Celta are also losing 3-1 against Athletic, so will still have it all to do on the last game. VAR has also ruled out quite a lot of goals today, which would have been given before its implementation.
Carnivore Chris
Valladolid win, so they are safe as it stands. Girona look like they will go down, unless they can find something now against Levante, who themselves will be safe if the scoreline stays like this. Valencia also have the head 2 head advantage over Getafe, with both on the same points. So Valencia will simply need to win next week, while Getafe will need to win and hope that Valencia lose. As for Sevilla, they'd have to win and hope both lose.
Carnivore Chris
The fight for 7th is interesting. It is currently occupied by Athletic Club, but Espanyol and Real Sociedad are only 3 points behind and both have a head to head advantage. Where it gets more interesting is that Espanyol and Real Sociedad play each other on the last game of the season. If Athletic where to lose against Sevilla away, then the winner of the Espanyol/Real Sociedad game would pip Athletic to 7th place. If it ends in a draw though, then Athletic would finish in that last Europa spot regardless of whether they win or not. They also only need a point at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuan against Sevilla in order to guarantee it.

Administrator Stan Posted May 12, 2019 Author Administrator Share Posted May 12, 2019 Girona look set to be relegated as well. Same head-to-head as Celta (1 home win each) and same head-to-head goal-difference with them. So will now go on to general GD which Celta have -9 and Girona have -15. Alaves vs Girona Celta vs Rayo Vallecano Can't see a 6-goal swing at all there in Girona's favour. Crazy considering Girona only entered the relegation zone a few weeks ago and were top half for pretty much all of the first half of the season. Severe drop in results for them. And Girona didn't start the season all that badly... Then again neither did Celta! It's been a weird season.
