  1. Now if they had done that at the Veltins the idiots there would have accepted that and let him go for a few Euros. Seems like a similar deal with Kabak at present. Question is why would you even think of letting such a good player leave?
  2. Haven't checked with my daughter on this, but perhaps nudge seems to have insight into some of the problems so here's a question for her! With the variations assumed to be slight - however more problematical - assuming that we have to keep vaccinating to ensure safety, could the annual flu vaccine incorporate this to be useful for both with just one injection or will we have to have two in future?
  3. I am old enough not to get involved with Politics anymore. I have endured years and years of listening to self-opinioned liars who are interested in whatever improves their own position without caring a damn about the rest of us - the days of Nye Bevan and David Steele are long gone - I spent the first two nights of my square bashing at Padgate being told that the prat in No 10 - a guy named Eden - had just invaded Egypt and that we were 'going there on Friday'. Lately Johnson, Gove and Trump have exceeded all that the rest tried to do, but I am too old to let it bother me in the least - other than to try and help the younger ones get sorted if they need anything. Whatever those 'in charge' do, the world will somehow come through it all and the rest of us will - hopefully - survive and get over the present problems, but I fear for a lot of young guys I know who have yet to get their first job - and god knows from where that will come. I still try and stick to my wish to all - young and old - simply sei nett
  4. I was in Bergerfeld in 2003 when the Saars hit and somehow - I got away without a problem buts loads caught it!
  5. My missus had her jab two days ago - like me she had lots of antib's in her blood and has had no after effects from the injection. I am now a week after and have had no feeling at all where it went in and no problems - both had the Pfizer and due back in early April. Don't think we were just lucky, just believe that it is no problem and all should accept it when it is available. Who knows, by May we might be able to go out for more than just a local walk!
  6. 24 hours after the jab and no effects - ill or otherwise. Even by 5am I was able to roll over in bed and lay on the arm without any difficulty - this is probably the easiest injection I have ever had to cope with - and believe me the ones I got in the 50's for the Far East and Christmas Island were sometimes very difficult to deal with. TOTALLY POSITIVE SO FAR.
  7. I did say I would let you know shat happened and when: here goes. As a result of having caught the virus (we think in September) all 3 in my 'bubble were tested and full of antibodies so my inje3ction was going to be delayed a little with a possible 5 month period of possible protection. I got a call on Thursday and given a time this morning. The place looked like total chaos - 10 or4 so stewards directing traffc with 2 police officers at the surgery and one of the normally unused entrances wide open. Those able to walk were directed well away from the building so that those in chairs etc were able to park near the doors. In effect the total chaos was exactly the opposite and the organisation inside was amazing! There are a number od Surgeries in the building they were all combined so that there were many cubicles for injections - these grew whilst I was there and a number of staff were manning laptops for details of who and when - details of any problems and a young guy showing where one should go . I did not get chance to sit down before I was pointed to a nurse who within seconds of sitting down had injected the Pfizer in my arm and sent me to sit in another area for 10 minutes 'just in case' she said - smiling! After that I joined a small line and was given a card with an appointment for 1st April for part 2 and gently ushered out, into the car and back home within 30 minutes of having left! Saturday morning and unbelievable the way they have it organised. I cannot find the point on my arm where it went in and - so far - not a single feeling or after-effect - only not to drink alcohol for a couple of days although that was advice not an instruction. Anyone in any doubt then accept that this injection does not have any living organisms so no fear of that and everything is very, very simple - do not be daft and refuse it if your turn comes. Will let you know in a few days time if anything changes or happens. Stay safe all!
  8. Time for an apparent complete turn around in thinking. I have long championed the cause of young players to be given a chance, but occasionally there is a possibility of the exact opposite being considered. bringing in an experienced man who has not only the ability to be a useful team member, but who has the respect and leadership qualities we all admire can sometimes be worth far more than just the idea! I have often referred to the effect which Diego had on Mesut's game at Bremen and at the moment it appears that there are discussions going on to bring Klaas Van H back to Gelsenkirchen to help out - on or off the field - even both! Brilliant idea
  9. Not outrage and not 'faux' - simply a hope/warning that a mistake can always be forgiven, but to repeat it is far more difficult to ignore - particularly in advance of it happening. It's almost suggesting that a pardon for Donald T will have any validity!
  10. I will take that with the emoji but it's not really the nudge I thought I knew - the integrity which we had and are trying to get back after Tonnies ruined it - and you know I would never make that sort of comment amount the guys up north in green!
  11. The other bad news is that Tonnies is trying to interfere again - his 'millions' might speak very loudly at the present time, but at what cost to the Club's integrity?
  12. You are really not serious thinking of taking one of Dortmund's also-rans. I did warn the Chelsea gang that 'Timo' would bottle it at the bridge, but the idea of Julian coming to London is as daft as Man City signing Uth! Question, - why after such a short period would Dortmund let him go?
  13. Why, when we have so many great strikers and midfielders at the club have we allowed young Rabbi to end his loan with us and go to Stoke without a fight? The old guys so slow that perhaps his pace is making it obvious how poor they are - good idea when we are playing at such a level that he is so far in front that his game is worthless with us. Amin next?
  14. Perhaps some Man City fan should start a thread on the latest sad piece of news today. Colin Bell was one of City's greatest players - often overlooked when praise was given out for team performances he was always there - over 500 games for the club and apart from his footballing ability his personality was very special. I was lucky enough to have interviewed him twice for local Radio - once with his mate Mike Summerbee - and I always thought of one word that summed up the guy. His fringe, his feet, his words, his manner and his life all were fully described in whatever way you believe the word means - Colin was decent! So sad that he has gone so early - too early!
  15. I have now dropped off the list for the moment so simple answer is (being very selfish) no! Just waiting for Trump to blame deaths on the English virus and invade the Isle of Wight. The French Rave party was the most stupid of all things happening recently and the UK guys who went there should be made to isolate on Port Mor if the Scots will have them!
  16. I watched and taught Joel when he was younger and Ozan has come through in a much better shape since his move from Stuttgart. His quiet way of going about the job will fit in with the guy he based his game on - namely Virgil - and he will be a loss to us if it happens, but our loss will be Kloppy's usual good gain!
  17. No chance - the food is blxxxx awful and food is my number 2 priority after the wine list at any hotel. Perhaps someone will start a thread on fav drinks - beers, wines whichever - even the odd mix. Would be nice to get a recommendation for something new I have yet to taste - vegetable and definitely not human!
  18. There appears to be a bit of panic in Gelsenkirchen this evening. It seems to be a little early to react, but with our present dire position and a new coach taking over, his defence could be weakened after Joel appeared to pull a groin muscle this evening. Kloppy has never denied his interest in young Kabak and he would fill the space in the middle of the defence at Anfield which is looking slightly suspect due to injuries. Watch this space! With the Turkish National team not having a game organised before the end of March, a change of club would not be a problem for Ozan.
  19. You know - both my wife and I have been taking tablets for cholesterol for some time and there has been a suggestion that some of the ingredients might have an effect on Covid!
  20. Tell that to your local voters - I know which of us will suffer most!
  21. Stan hates the government! Try this: The same clever intelligent British Public who voted in Johnson and determined that we leave Europe declared on Saturday that Bill Bailey won 'Strictly Come Dancing'. 'nuff said!
  22. Sorry for the delay people. I was going to let you know how my 'injection' went, but I gave been put on a lower list - mainly due to a blood test that shows a high level of antibodies and that somewhere between March and now I have had the virus, lived with and beaten it - not sure how, never had any indication that it was there and my 'bubble' of 3 of us are all tested positive with antibodies so we are somewhat safe for the moment. The nurse told me that there are more old people like me and that if it is easy for you to get a blood test then do it as there are quite a few of us feeling happier today! Don't ask why or how or anything - I just feel that my years in the RAF when they pumped all sorts into me in the Far East - including a visit to Christmas Island in 1957 seems to have strengthened my immune system somewhat. Watch this space (if you want)
  23. Whilst I was roaming around the channels last night I caught the last half of 'Race to Witch Mountain'. Now I can't wait to watch it in full - as daft as a film I ever saw and brilliant in it's daftness - a total release from realism and with and hour or so of anyone's time providing you loved ET and Close Encounters you will not be disappointed - if you like realistic Sci-Fi then this is not for you, but the kids - old and young alike - will love it!
