  1. The 2022 winner just couldn't let me have my moment.
  2. I think Graham Potter will hold out for West Ham in the summer. There seems to be an inevitable part of ways happening there with the fans wanting a more progressive style of football. West Ham have the resources and infrastructure that he will believe could get him to a level where its perceieved he can make his biggest managerial achievements. The talk of Potter going to Stoke City is absurd. Especially when there's the likes of Tony Mowbray and John Eustace are available. Albeit given how many good managers and players seem to ruin themselves at Stoke it wouldn't surprise me if the only person willing to take the risk is somebody as brave as Steve Evans. I get the impression Steve Cooper is still in a job at Forest because Maranakis hasn't found a big name replacement. He will be the bookies favourite to replace Roy, but if we jump in the next month I'd rather we go for McKenna.
  3. He wouldn't come here. There's absolutely no way he would have tolerated the lack of recruitment last summer. The board kept Roy on because they knew they could take the piss and he'd get on with it.

Yeah I was hopeing this title would change every couple of months given it was invented because the Roman record was becoming a cure for insomnia. The crowd were not behind Rollins last week.

I hope Punk beats Seth at RR and Seth gets the return win at WM. So many long title reigns at the same time are zzzzzzz.

I was joking yesterday that they've probably already called Zaslav and told him there's an opening for 'One Bill Phil on Wednesday Night Raw' next year and then a couple of those shitty news sites started reporting the same thing . I laughed at the reports that WWE saw Tony Khan's tweets as a 'declaration of war' but if that happens then maybe they did.
  7. The Athletic are reporting its season over for Doucoure. Eze out for a month too. On September 1st it was clear we were three attacking players light to challenge for the top half. Going in to January it looks like we're now six players away from having an adequate squad. A Ward replacement, any cover for Mitchell, better cover for Doucoure, a wide right midfielder, a Zaha replacement and a Benteke replacement. Its amazing given the radical surgery we had to undergo in the Summer 2021, we're sleepwalking in to a similar scenario again by not addressing clear issues summer upon summer.
  8. I guess they are short of bang average inconsistent wide players who you don’t really know where they play.

That Matt Jackson victory lap in Chicago sure aged well.

To carry on the negative theme, I just want to tell you that Kota Ibushi's three matches in AEW have put me off NJPW for the foreseeable future.

I gave them leeway going in to All In. The weekly show sucked but I thought fair play for making a move that would make Vince notice. Then I gave up when Tony Khan went on his last Twitter meltdown. Nothings ever going to change whilst he's in full control. I watched Full Gear, as even though the weekly show is absolutely terrible, the PPVs usually bang. This one felt disappointing. A company not medically clearing MJF but allowing Adam Cole to wrestle on crutches took me right out the main event. Now I hear what happens and just laugh. MJF crying, Tony Khan wearing a scarf to honour Inoki (who would have absolutely hated him), fucking Luther being shoe horned in to the good Toni Storm stuff, hiring Ric Flair, The Young Bucks in another shitty 'No your our friend!!' Storyline, Kota Ibushi struggling to ride a bicycle, fans laughing at NWA's cocaine spot and then justifying a man drinking another mans blood, a tournament that sounds like Eddie Kingston's breakfast. The list goes on.
  13. There has to be a more fair way to implement FFP. At the moment its just luck as to where you were in the football pyramid when Portsmouth sank. This summer showed it more than ever, between Manchester United and Chelsea the only signing I can say off the top of my head that was a good signing in the last five years is Bruno Fernandes. Yet there still allowed to spend nine figures whilst Everton, Wolves and Leicester have all had to reign it in recently. The approach that rich owners can put in as much as they want isn't the answer. Derby County showed that when the club became completely dependent on Mel Morris' and he lost interest. My initial thought was there should be a grace period where new owners are allowed to invest as much as there own money as they want. That way ambitious infrastructure can be created to set those that are serious about a long term project. However the obvious criticisms to this are the Delphon Chansiri's of the world, who recklessly spend as much they want with a two year plan with no plan after. I quite like the Spanish model. It's harsh but clubs will not go under with it. No matter how hard Barcelona try. Maybe implement on budgets on July 1st as opposed to September.

Swerve should be beating another former Champion or two and then moving on to MJF. Not in some tournament for a mid card title where the groups have been engineered to benefit a man who looks as healthy as Eddie Kingston. Christian's good. Thankfully with Edge's clout he's avoiding the rest of the circus.

Swerve Strickland willingly lost all that blood on Sunday just to be be put in a tournament for a mid card title by Wednesday .
  16. Given there was 65376 transfers between Spurs, Portsmouth and Harry Redknapp in that short time period that could be a real can of worms being opened.
  17. You're wasting your time. At first he was being a wum but after 10+ years its become clear that fans like him are the antithesis of everything that's wrong with modern football.
  18. I know at least 15 people that have given up Crystal Palace season tickets to follow Croydon Athletic and Sutton United for these reasons. I look at Lewis (which is the best non league football ground bar none), who are the disruptor for women's football thats making the same mistakes as the mens game, which is a 20 minute drive from my house. If my son wanted to support them I'd be more happy than if he supported Palace. I never thought I would get to that situation but top league football isn't the game I fell in love with.
  19. I still think Everton will stay up. The Everton under Benitez and Lampard played against Palace like they thought they were too good to be in the position they were in. The Everton I saw last weekend under Dyche played like Dyche convinced them they're better than people think they are. I know @Whiskey is pretty dismayed with the general state of football but in 10+ years I think Everton fans will look back at the mentality of this Sean Dyche side as one of there favourite Everton teams.
  20. Let's not delve in to how you got promoted in the first place.
